SPY ✔︎ DEREK HALEWords: 13445

THE NEXT MORNING, HAZEL WAS AT HER LOCKER, PUTTING HER BOOKS INSIDE WHEN SHE CLOSED IT AND TURNED TO LEAVE BUT COULDN'T BELIEVE WHO SHE SAW.

Derek was walking towards Jackson.

He was talking with him and she already noticed that the two had a hard conversation going on.

Derek was about to walk away as Jackson grabbed him but Derek pushed him roughly against her wall making Jackson grunt in pain.

Hazel didn't understand why. That's when Hazel knew when Derek backed away.

His claws caught his neck.

Blood spilled out and Jackson noticed it when Hazel quickly ran after Derek to look around for him.

Walking a little further, she saw Derek against the wall making her gasp. He had bags under his eyes and looked completely pale and was sweating in pain.

"Derek? Are you okay?" Derek looked up and his head shot up when he saw the McCall checking up on him.

"Where's Scott? I need Scott. Where is he?" Derek said wren Hazel had an 'o' shape on her mouth before she spoke.

"He's in class... why? What's wrong?" She noticed that he started dozing off. That meant he was eavesdropping to find Scott maybe?

Suddenly the bell rang making Derek cover his ears. Hazel looked around before she had an idea.

"Come with me." Derek looked up at her but she already went to his side to put an arm around her shoulders and help him walk out of school.

Once they stepped out of school they were walking down the stairs towards the parking lot till Stiles nearly crashed them.

"Oh my God!" Stiles swore out of shock to see Hazel with a pale Derek.

Derek suddenly fell down when Hazel quickly kneeled beside him but Scott was already there. "What are you doing here?"

"I was shot." Weakly, Derek said with his eyes closing.

"He's not looking so good, dude." Stiles added.

"Why aren't you healing?" Hazel questioned worriedly.

"I can't. It was— it was a different kind of bullet." Derek said.

"A silver bullet?" Stiles questioned.

"No, you idiot." Derek annoyingly looked up at him.

"Wait, wait. That's what she meant when you had 48 hours." Hazel confused looked over at her brother.

"Who— who said 48 hours?" Derek questioned.

"The one who shot you." Scott replied.

Suddenly his eyes glowed blue and he grunted. "What are you doing?" Scott asked out of shock. "Stop that!"

But his glowing eyes didn't fade. "I'm trying to tell you. I can't!"

"Derek, get up!" Scott demanded wren they quickly helped him up into Stiles' jeep and closed the door.

Derek in the passenger seat and Hazel in the back as always, with Stiles driving. "I need you to find out what kind of bullet they used." Derek told Scott that was on his door.

"How the hell am I supposed to do that?" Scott questioned.

"She's an argent. She's with them." Derek said.

Did that mean that the Argents were hunters?

"Why should I help you?" Scott questioned. Hazel was confused as to why he would ask that out of nowhere. Of course they should help Derek. They couldn't just let him die for the last 48 hours.

"Because you need me." Derek reasoned.

Scott looked over at Allison where she had been waiting with all the other cars honking around because they didn't drive.

"Fine. I'll try." Scott said.

"Get him out of here." Scott mentioned to Stiles that glared at him.

"I hate you for this so much." Stiles quickly drove away when Hazel sighed in relief.

During the whole ride Hazel was just watching over Derek that took his jacket off. Stiles went to check on any messages that Scott had replied but didn't. "Come on!" Stiles whispered to himself as he turned to Derek. "Hey, try not to bleed out on my seats, okay? We're almost there."

"Almost where?" Derek kept his head low.

"Your house." Stiles answered.

"What?" Derek looked up at him. "No, you can't take me there."

"I can't take you to your own house?" Sarcastically, Stiles questioned with a chuckle.

"Not when I can't protect myself." Derek said.

"All right." Stiles pulled over and stopped the car and turned to Derek while Hazel watched from the middle. "What happens if Scott doesn't find your magic bullet? Hmm? Are you dying?"

Derek shook his head. "Not yet. I have a last resort."

"What do you mean? What last resort?" Stiles dramatically rose his voice trying to control his anger.

"Stiles! Calm down!" Hazel interrupted when Derek pulled his sleeve up to see the wounded bullet that got him.

"Oh my God, what is that?" Both Stiles and Hazel cringed at it. "Oh, is that contagious? You know what, you should probably get out."

"Start the car. Now." Derek weakly demanded.

"I don't think you should be barking orders with the way you look, okay? In fact, I think if I wanted to, I could probably drag your little werewolf ass out into the middle of the road and leave you for dead."

Both Derek and Hazel watched him. Derek seemed to stare at him with anger behind his eyes and Hazel with insanely expression.

Why would Stiles say that?

"Start the car, or i'm gonna rip your throat out... with my teeth." Derek demanded him with a hard glare.

The two had a staring contest with Hazel watching awkwardly in the middle at the two. Stiles that had his mouth open staring at Derek with a stare that definitely described that he wanted to scream out that Derek just demanded him. He was also scared so why not.

Stiles turned back to the road with anger hidden behind but his face kept a scoff and turned on the engine then started to drive again.

━─━────༺༻────━─━

It's been hours and the sun already was out that meant nighttime. Hazel and Stiles didn't know what to do with Derek and he was getting weaker.

"What are we supposed to do with him?" Stiles stressed asked over the phone at Scott that was at Allison's. Derek and Hazel couldn't hear Scott so they just listened. "And, by the way, he's starting to smell." Derek slowly glared at him. "Like death."

A silence was there for a moment before Stiles spoke again.

He scoffed. "What about your boss?"

Hazel sighed and leaned against the seat as she ran a hand through her face. Stiles sighed and passed Derek the phone. "You're not gonna believe where he's telling me to take you."

Derek took the phone. "Did you find it?"

Stiles and Hazel waited for a next respond till Scott was done telling him.

"Look, if you don't find it, then I'm dead, all right?" Derek cleared him out. Stiles and Hazel shared a look before they looked back at Derek. "Them think about this. The alpha called you out against your will. He's gonna do it again. Next time you either kill with him or you get killed. So if you wanna stay alive, then you need me. Find the bullet." with that, Derek hung up the phone.

After that, Stiles drove with them to the animal clinic and they arrived. They went inside the garage and Stiles called Scott.

Derek threw himself against the couch and his face looked worse when Hazel placed a hand on his shoulder. "You okay?" Derek looked at her and calmed a little down.

"Does northern blue monkshood mean anything to you?" Stiles asked Derek.

"It's a rare form of wolfsbane he has to bring me the bullet." Derek weakly said while carefully touching his arm in pain.

"Why?"

" 'Cause i'm gonna die without it." Hazel stressfully sighed and wondered what she could do to make him feel better but looking like this.

Stiles kept texting Scott to come over but he wasn't replying. Worriedly, Hazel turned to Derek and placed her hands on his pale face. "You're gonna be okay, just stay awake."

Since Scott wasn't texting the three decided to walk into the clinic animal and Stiles turned on the light. "Well, okay."

Derek took off his shirt as he placed his arm at the medical table when the teens took a great look at it.

It had dark veins spread all over and the blood poured out. "You know, that really doesn't look like anything some echinacea and a good night of sleep couldn't take care of." Stiles suggested.

"When the infection reaches my heart, it'll kill me." Derek said with so much weak in it that Hazel couldn't listen to anymore

" 'Positively' just isn't in your vocabulary, is it?" Stiles asked him sarcastically.

Derek went through the cabinets. "If he doesn't get here with the bullet in time... last resort."

"Which is?" Hazel nervously asked. That's when Derek raised up a medical sawyer making Hazel's jaw drop.

"One of you are gonna cut off my arm."

Derek handed it to Stiles as he turned it on but quickly stopped and looked away. "Oh my God. What if you bleed to death?"

"It'll heal if it works." Derek said while wrapping a blue line around his upper arm with the end of the line stuck in between his teeth.

"Ugh. Look... I don't know if i can do this." Stiles nervously said.

"Why not?" The venom came out of Derek's harsh voice.

"Well, because of the cutting through the flesh, the sawing of the bone, and especially the blood!" Stiles childishly reasoned when Derek let his arm slam on the table and looked blankly at Stiles.

"You faint at the sight of blood?" Derek seriously asked.

"No, but I might at the sight of a chopped-off arm!" Stiles said while pulling a face at him to the exact reason.

"All right, fine. How about this? Either you cut off my arm, or I'm gonna cut off your head." Derek threatened making Hazel gulp.

"Okay, you know what, I'm so not buying your threats any—" That's when Derek grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and dragged Stiles towards him. "Oh my God. Okay." Derek moved his face as a threat closer to Stiles when Hazel went to fear a little. "All right, bought, sold. Totally, i'll do it, i'll do it."

Derek grunted in pain and moved his head away. Hazel groaned. "Derek come on you need to hold this on till Scott arrives."

"Yeah, till Scott arrives he's already out of pulse." Stiles mentioned to Derek that was leaning over the end of the table. "What? What are you doing?"

Suddenly Derek puked blood out on the floor making Hazel gag. "Holy God, what the hell is that?"

"It's my body... trying to heal itself." Derek said.

"Well, it's not doing a very good job of it." Stiles gagged.

Derek looked up at him. "Now. You gotta do it now."

Hazel and Stiles shared a look out of concern but then shook their heads. They really couldn't do it. "Look, honestly, I don't think you can."

"Just do it!" Derek yelled at him out of annoyance and anger making the two startle.

"Oh my God. Okay, okay." Stiles turned the sawyer on and placed it on Derek's arm. "All right, here we go!"

Hazel looked away until Scott's voice interrupted it. "Stiles! Hazel?"

Stiles stopped and the two looked up. "Scott?"

He showed up into the room when Hazel sighed in relief. Scott noticed what Stiles was doing and widened his eyes. "What the hell are you doing?"

Hazel scoffed. "Oh, you just prevented a lifetime of nightmares."

Derek that was still leaning against the table asked Scott this time. "Did you get it?"

Scott pulled the magic bullet out of his pocket and quickly passed it to Derek stood up straight and took a look at it.

"What are you gonna do with it?" Stiles asked.

"I'm gonna... I'm gonna..." Suddenly, Derek fell down weakly on the floor making the magic bullet fall down between a space of gap making Scott run over it.

"No. No, no, no, no."

Hazel kneeled towards Derek and slightly slapped him on the cheek with Stiles beside her. "Derek. Derek, come on, wake up. Scott what the hell are we gonna do?"

"I don't know! I can't reach it."

Hazel noticed he wasn't opening his eyes anymore. "He's not waking up!" Stiles added.

"I think he's dying! I think he's dead!" Hazel out of fear said.

"Just hold on!" Scott a second later got the bullet. "Oh! I got it! I got it!"

Hazel sighed as she came up with an idea to wake him up.

Sadly.

The girl sighed. "Please don't kill me for this." She raised her fist and punched him as she rubbed her fist with a little grunt. "Are you awake now?"

Derek finally woke up. "Give me..." the three helped him up.

"Ow! God!" Hazel mentioned to her hand as she moved it around.

Scott opened the gab of the bullet and poured out some kind of... powder? He took the lighter and light them making fire burn out.

Derek wiped every single one of them to his other hand and looked towards his arm as he slammed his hand against it to let it go inside his wound and sighed his index finger inside as he loses grunted in pain, pushing Stiles and falling on the floor again.

Derek yelled out in pain as the three watched with worries. Hazel noticed that the dark veins and the bullet disappeared back into his normal skin.

"That... was... awesome!" Stiles said making the siblings look at him. "Yes!"

Derek stood up before Scott asked. "Are you okay?"

"Well, except the agonizing pain." Sarcastically Derek replied when he stood up straight with no more pale skin and no more dark shadows under his eyes.

"I'm guessing the ability to use sarcasm is a good sign of health." Stiles said when Derek glared blankly at him. "Okay, we saved your life, which means you're gonna leave us alone, you got that? And if you don't, I'm gonna go back to Allison's dad, and I'm gonna tell him everything—"

"You're gonna trust them? You think they can help you?" Derek said with a bit of challenge.

"Well, why not?" Scott questioned. "They're a lot freaking nicer than you are."

Derek sarcastically grinned with a quiet scoff. "I can show you exactly how nice they are."

Scott now confused stared at him. "What do you mean?"

S/T: I hope you're sad and tired, you got nothin' left to give.
