Chapter 17

My hands began to shake and I sat my phone down.  I took a deep breath and turned to Kade.

"What is it Addi?"  Concern filling his face.  At about the same time, Tyler came back with his laptop.

"Kade what the hell is the meaning of this!" Tyler yelled sitting down his laptop in front of Kade.

Kade took one look at the screen and yelled.  "Shit!"  He ran his hands thru his hair and turned to me.  I shook my head and got up from the table.  "Addi!! Stop! Don't run just listen ok?!"

"Why should I Kade?! So you can tell me it isn't what it looks like?! Because it looks pretty damn bad!" I screamed.

"She's right.  What the hell happened?!" Tyler roared over me and I jumped.

Emma stood up walking over to her dad.  "Daddy calm down.  Addi, just wait a minute.  I'm sure Kade can explain right?"  She looked at the screen and I saw her face pale.

"Are you kidding me, Kade?! Start explaining?!"

Kade looked at me.  "Please don't run just listen."

"So you can spin this in your favor?! Use some of those playboy charms of yours?!"

"Addi!! Just let him explain!  Now Kade!!" Emma yelled.

"Ok ok listen I didn't know she was even here.  I swear! I was standing in the garden after dinner to get some air.  She said she just wanted to talk,  to apologize for how she acted."

"Wait what?! To apologize for what? Who the hell is she, Kade?!"  I demanded.

Emma looked at her dad and he looked at Kade and I realized they knew who she was.  Kade just stared at me.  "Oh my god that's Jules isn't it?!"  Emma nodded and Tyler looked like he wanted to punch something.  Kade didn't move he just continued to stare at me.

"How convenient for her to just show up here Kade?! How long have you been seeing your ex-wife?!" I wanted to smack him but I didn't I couldn't move.

"Addi, I haven't seen her at all I don't know why she showed up here I swear!"  He was gripping his chair so hard it's a wonder it didn't break.

"So what she just shows up and throws herself at you!?!"  My heart was flying and my chest was tight if I could have gotten my hands on this Jules bitch I probably would have killed her.

"She said she was sorry.  She made a mistake four years ago she wished she never would have signed those divorce papers.  The picture does look bad I know but it really isn't what it looks like.  She kissed me but I pushed her away.  Whoever took this picture took it before I pushed her I swear.  Addi please I want you.  Only you, baby."

I shook my head.  "That's the same thing you said last night when I caught you with Sara! How can I believe you, Kade?!  The playboy is at it again! At least they got the headline right!!" I screamed.  I felt like a two-year-old throwing a tantrum but I couldn't help it.  How could this be happening?!  I got played for a fool all over again! How stupid could I be?! The whole world saw this damn story.  The headline:  The Playboy is at it again!! With two pictures one of him escorting Sara into the house late at night and another of him kissing Jules in the garden as the sunset.  The story was about him hooking up with two different women at his sister's wedding and they wondered if he'd ever settle down.  Now for all the people that knew about our relationship, I would look like the idiot who stayed with the cheating boyfriend.  Kade just sat there looking at me.  Tyler was pacing the floor and Emma looked like she wanted to smack her brother.  Ryan remained in his seat unsure of what to do.  After a few minutes of silence.  Tyler spoke.

"Kade I swear if you let that damn woman back in your life your cut off!! Do you hear me?! I don't give a damn if the whole world knows it!!"  Tyler glared at his son.  He had every right to be pissed after all this was the woman who used him and tried to ruin his life for money.

"Daddy, calm down please have a seat."  Emma patted her dad's back and he eventually gave in sitting down at the table.  "Kade seriously what were you thinking you know the paps would be watching everything last night.  You should have told us that she was here!  You should of let someone else deal with Sara's drunk ass too! You know she's been after you for years she would do anything to get in your bed Kade honestly!"

"I know I was hurting and not thinking clearly but I swear nothing happened.  I would never cheat on you Addi."  His eyes filled with tears and Emma patted his back.

"Addi come sit down.  Kade may be a lot of things including an idiot at times but he isn't a liar."  She gave me a weak smile and all though I couldn't blame her for taking up for her brother, I couldn't keep doing this.  Was I just going to allow myself to be blinded by love every time he screws up I'm just going to let it slide as he continues to destroy me?

"I have to go,"  I said quickly as I turned and bolted out the front door.  I made it to the driveway before Kade caught up with me.

"Addi!! Please stop!!"

I pulled out my phone ignoring him.  Darby picked up.

"Addi, are you ok? Where are you?"

"The estate please come now and hurry." I hung up and continued walking with Kade following behind me.

"Addison!! I swear I didn't do anything wrong!! I pushed Jules away I told her I was in love with someone else. I told her to leave!  Addi please just listen to me!"  He begged.

"Just listen to you huh!? That's all I've done Kade!  Is listen to you try to explain all of these things that for some unknown reason keep happening !!!  I will not sit by and be made a fool of again!! I can't do it!!" I screamed and sat down at the end of the driveway waiting for Darby.

"I'm not Grant.  I'm not doing anything behind your back Addi! I would have told you about Jules showing up I just didn't last night because you were already so upset.  But I would have told you today.  I'll tell you anything you want to know! I've never lied to you! When you asked about Jules I told you didn't I?! I could have easily lied about her!  Baby please I don't want to be without you."

I sighed and looked up at him.  "Kade I need some time.  Ok? Just give me some time to figure all of this out." I was mentally kicking myself no matter what happened it seemed I couldn't stay mad at him.  When I looked into his eyes my heart just melted.  This couldn't be healthy.  I needed a few days to think without him clouding my judgment.  "I'll call you when I'm ready."

He stood there looking at me for a few minutes and even though I was confused and wanted to kick his ass I couldn't deny how much I loved him.  He touched my face and sighed.

"If that's really what you want Addi.  But I swear I'm telling you the truth.  I only want you.  I love you."  Darby's car pulled up and she slammed the car door.

"Get in Addi!" She yelled as she walked toward Kade.  "I told you not to hurt her again!!! What is wrong with you!!!? Huh?! Can't keep it in your pants?!!"

She reached out and smacked him across the face.  He stood there stunned glaring at us.

"Dar come on let's go!" I pulled her away from Kade.  She reluctantly got back in the car and we drove away with him still standing there.

"I'm sorry I smacked him but he deserved it." She shrugged and I laughed.

"Thanks for standing up for me I guess but that really wasn't necessary.  He said nothing happened he pushed her away."

"Of course he is going to say that Addi! What do you think a guy is going to say?! Yeah I banged her in the garden?"

"No! But I kinda believe him.  That was his ex-wife, Dar."

"The one he was kissing? Was the bitch that lied about being pregnant and then took his money?"

"That's the one."

"Holy shit so he has been screwing his ex behind your back?!  I'll kill him I swear!!" She yelled and the car slowed down.

"Dar what are you doing?!"

"Turning around! I'll kick his ass!!! I can't believe this!!"

"Dar just chill out! You are not kicking his ass.  He said he hadn't seen her at all she just showed up wanting to apologize."

"Yeah because how many women do you know that would show up uninvited to a wedding to apologize to their ex-husband?"

"The kind that would lie about being pregnant and marry a man for money?"

She stopped the car and looked at me.  "Maybe he is telling the truth? Oh shit, and I smacked him too now I need to apologize."  I laughed at her.

"I don't know what to think Dar.  I can't think straight around him.  I love him so much that it clouds my judgment.  The more I think about it now though he probably is telling the truth I mean he never has lied to me.  His family was so pissed but Emma believed him too.  Something tells me she would call him on it if she thought he was lying."

"I think your right she loves her brother but I don't think she would lie for him."

I sighed.  "What should I do Dar?"

"I don't know? You either believe him or you don't?" She shrugged.  My phone buzzed and I answered it.

"Hello?"

"Addi! It's Emma.  I hate to bother you I know you are upset but Kade is a mess.  He is screaming and has already trashed the dining room can you please come back? Dad is threatening to call the cops, I need you to calm him down."

"Yeah I'm coming I'm just right up the road."  I hung up.  "Take me back Dar.  Kade is throwing a fit and Tyler is threatening to call the cops because he won't calm down."

She nodded and drove us back to the estate.  I ran into the house and as I entered the dining room Darby yelled.

"Damn! He did all this because I smacked him?" The floor was covered in food, the table had been flipped over and some of the chairs were broken.  I shook my head holding in a laugh then I heard Tyler yelling.

"Kade how could you be so stupid!!!!? Will you just sit down and talk to me?!!"  The yelling was coming from the living room.

I went through the foyer to the living room, Tyler was sitting in a chair by the fireplace.  Kade was standing in the corner pulling a large mirror off the wall.

"Kade stop!" I yelled and he looked up at me.  He was breathing hard and his eyes were red.

"Addi?  You came back?"  He let go of the mirror and came over to me.  He grabbed me pulling me against him.

"Emma called me.  Why did you trash the dining room?"  I asked and tears filled his eyes.

"It was my fault Addi."  Tyler sighed.  "I was yelling at him and he lost it.  Not that he didn't deserve it but I took it too far.  I told him he was going to lose the most important thing in his life."

"And what is that?" I asked looking at Tyler.

"You, my dear.  He can't handle the thought of losing you Addi.  I told you he wouldn't be able to handle it if this ends badly."  He shook his head standing up.  "I'm getting too old for this.  Just listen to him Addison the boy isn't lying."  Then he left the room.  Emma came out of the kitchen.

"Thank god you calmed him down now please work it out so I don't have to worry on my honeymoon! Darby, come with me so they can talk."  She led Dar upstairs.  Kade was still holding on to me.

"I'm sorry I lost it.  Dads right I can't handle the thought of you not coming back it makes me crazy.  Please don't walk out on me Addi."  Tears ran down his face and I wiped them away.

"I'm not going anywhere I promise."  He hugged me holding me to him like his life depended on it.

"Do you believe me, Addison?  I wouldn't lie to you.  You may not like it but I will always tell you the truth."

"I know I'm sorry I overreacted.  After what Grant did you can't really blame me for thinking the worst."

"I understand but I'm not him."  I nodded and he kissed me making my knees weak.  He pulled away looking into my eyes.  "I want you, Addison." He breathed and I grinned. No matter how confused or pissed off I was I wanted him to. I would always want him.

"We are in your father's living room Kade." He smirked and picked me up.  He carried me bridal style upstairs to his old room quickly closing the door.  He put me on the bed and climbed over me.  "Kade your sister and Darby are in the other room they'll hear us!" I giggled.

"I don't care babe.  I want you now."  He covered my mouth with his and I didn't argue.

A while later there was a knock on the door.  "Kade? Addi?  I know you are in there.  I'd like to tell you both goodbye before I leave."  Emma spoke softly.

"We're coming!" I yelled back and Kade groaned.

"I'm not ready to let go of you yet babe."  He smiled up at me.  I was laying on top of him resting.

I climbed off of him and got off the bed.  "Well too bad I'm sure your sister is ready to leave on her honeymoon we have kept them here long enough."  I started to get dressed.

"Ok babe." He got up and got dressed. We went downstairs, everyone was sitting in the living room. As we entered the room Darby grinned at us.

"I heard you made up." Everyone laughed.

"I think we all heard," Emma said rolling her eyes.

I blushed. "Sorry." Kade squeezed my hand.

"Don't apologize babe it was great." He smirked at me.

"You two are crazy you know? I'd like to get off this roller coaster now." Darby stated.

"Sorry I dragged you into all of this Dar." I sighed. She really was a great friend to put up with all of this.

"That's what best friends are for. I'm just saying you two need to straighten everything out. Spend some time alone tell each other all of your little secrets so this doesn't keep happening." Darby looked at me matter of factly and everyone else nodded in agreement.

"We will. I'm sorry I acted like an idiot. I should have told her last night and I shouldn't have blown up on you dad." Kade looked at his father.

"I've gotten quite used to it over the years Kade but you can't keep doing this." Tyler sighed. "Darby is right you both need to take some time alone away from all of this. Tell each other everything and I mean everything Kade! Why don't you take the jet somewhere and spend some time alone? I'll take care of the media. I can spin this story another way maybe cast Jules in a bad light and plant a new story about how the two of you met and fell in love as you planned Emma's wedding."

"That's a good idea dad but we are taking the jet remember?" Emma said and Ryan nodded.

"There is plenty of room, the jet seats ten Emma but I understand if you and Ryan want your privacy. I could always borrow another one." Tyler sighed pulling out his phone.

"No dad it's ok we can share with them. We can just drop them off wherever on our way to Hawaii." Emma smiled.

"Hawaii wow! I've always wanted to go!" Darby gushed and I nodded.

"Me too perfect place for a honeymoon." I smiled at Emma.

"Or a vacation," Kade smirked.

"Yes, the villa is a great vacation spot. We spent quite a few family vacations there over the years." Tyler smiled. "Emma there is plenty of room there too you know. Might be a good idea to have someone close by with these two."

"Oh yeah, I didn't think of that. We could stay on one side and you could stay on the other. We don't even have to see each other unless we want to." Emma nodded.

"So you don't mind us crashing your honeymoon sis?" Kade asked her.

"Of course not the villa is big enough for thirty people there's plenty of space." She smiled.

"Wait so we're going to Hawaii?!" I asked trying to hold in my excitement.

Kade nodded and I squealed.

"You lucky bitch!" Darby laughed. "I need to find me a Jacobs too. You sure you don't have another son Mr. Jacobs?"

He laughed shaking his head. "Who knows maybe?"

"Dad!" Emma yelled at him and he grinned.

"Of course not Emma calm down. Why don't you take Darby with you? Could be fun." He smiled at her.

"I think I love this man!" Darby grinned at him and he laughed.

"If only I was young again my dear." He winked at her and everyone laughed.

"Yeah come with us Darby bring Matt too so you have some company." Kade offered.

"Really?!" Everyone nodded in agreement.  "Oh my god! Can't you adopt me, Mr. Jacobs?  A girl could get used to this." She grinned.  We all laughed at her.  "I'm gonna text, Matt."  She pulled out her phone.

"The jet leaves in two hours,"  Tyler told us.  "I'd like a word with Addi and Darby in my office before you leave to pack." He stood and motioned for us to follow.
