Chapter 7

My Fairy Prince {Chosen Mates Book #4}

In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they're still beautiful. – Alice Walker

Seraphina was in a complete panic now. The door wouldn't open, Rowan was just as confused and freaked out as she was, well, for a completely different reason, but that panic was still there!

Seraphina pictured her friends searching for her all over town now, panicking and in tears now that maybe someone had kidnapped her.

Well, a damn door sure did! It decided to take her to a whole new world as a matter of fact!

"Will the door ever open?" Seraphina's words had caught Rowan's attention now. He wasn't sure how to reply to it. But he gave a small slow nod. Seraphina groaned in defeat knowing that was probably a long shot for the truth.

"We could probably–" Rowan was cut off by a glimmer of tiny wings. A royal guard pixie had found them.

"Sir Rowan, please bring yourself and the human to the King and Queen at once. They have found out she is here."

Rowan gave out a sigh that Seraphina feared the most. She was in trouble, she could feel it. This was what she was dreading the most. The worst she thought of, had just begun in her mind.

~~~
Alred, the King, let's his son free since he had other matters to handle, but not before explaining that Dorian will have to be with him when the meeting with the Dragon King comes. Dorian nods, thanking his Father and Mother. Just as he leaves, a tree spirit appeared. A soft glow of transparent green surrounded it, but its tone was not a welcoming one.
" A human has entered your forest, your highness." The spirit's voice was vacant and clear.
The Queen's smile faded from her soft face. It was replaced with a tempered gaze at the tree spirit. Alfred looked at his wife then at the tree spirit in calm silence.
"The forest allowed a human in? How can this be," The Queen's voice was now in deep worry. Humans were the essence of trouble for them for centuries.
"It is a human girl," The spirit continues on, "She is with Rowan."
"Guard," The King's voice bellowed in a request for the guard pixie's appearance. The pixie guard flew over, hovering in place beside the tree spirit awaiting orders.
"Bring that girl and Rowan to us at once."
~~~

The guard was facing Rowan and Seraphina. Repeating the orders they were given once again.

"We will follow. Please lead the way. I shall walk with her instead of flying."

The pixie nodded and turned, fluttering ahead of them but still staying insight to follow. Rowan guided Seraphina away from the door that soon faded from sight as they ventured off. Both of them were worried about what was going to happen now. And what the reason for the door allowing her in would be.

~~~
Rowan and Seraphina stood before the King and Queen. Seraphina couldn't help but stare at the pure beauty that they were. They looked so human-like. All of them did, the pixies that were scattered around far from them both, their little eyes peering at her from corners and pillars.
Seraphina was in worry for herself as much as she was in confusion about how fast they found out about her. Rowan wasn't as nervous, thanks to being the Prince's best friend, but Seraphina didn't know that.
Her thoughts had wandered off to how the castle looked now thanks to the king and queen focused mainly on Rowan for now. How the world she was brought to was made from what looked like a fairy tale in books.
Pixies, Fairies, large and small. It was just as she read in books as a kid.
She looked at the walls now, tapestries covered the walls along with stained glass windows with images of the forest and the fairies. Probably of the royal family if she looked hard enough.
"Seraphina," Rowan called out to her. Her name being called made her head snap back forward, her eyes meeting the royal couple before her once again. They smiled at her in kindness.
