Chapter 39 David Kissed Her

Caroline suddenly realized the car had come to a stop. They had arrived at Ellison Group!

Never in her life had she felt so relieved.

Whoever interrupted them couldn’t have come at a better time.

An actual lifesaver!

“Someone… Someone’s here,” Caroline stammered, swallowing hard. “Let’s pause for now.”

She tried to slide off David’s lap, but his iron grip on her waist didn’t loosen even a fraction.

He’s not letting go?

Caroline turned her head, catching a glimpse of a hemline. Before she could make out the person’s face, David seized her chin and turned her back toward him.

She barely got a word out before David’s lips claimed hers.

He lowered his head and kissed her, full and precise.

Caroline’s eyes widened, and she forgot to breathe. Her entire body froze, her hands hovering awkwardly

Oh my God, David is kissing me?

And with the driver in the front seat and someone standing outside the car?

He didn’t care, but she certainly did. This felt like a live broadcast!

“Nervous? Hm?” David’s voice was a low rasp, dangerou ly seductive. “Weren’t you just playing the temptress? Why so innocent now?”

“I wasn’t… I don’t.” Caroline tried to protest, but her words were cut off as David deepened the kiss

He didn’t hold back, his lips demanding and fierce. The pressure was overwhelming, leaving Careline breathless. Her mind blanked, and her hands unconsciously clung to his shoulders for balance

He ran his thumb over her swollen lips, “Satisfied?”

Caroline glared at him, fuming. “What are you even talking about? I don’t understand a word you’re saying!”

“You’re constantly trying to seduce me. Isn’t this exactly what you wanted?”

“I absolutely did not! All I want is for you to never touch me and stay as far away from me as possible!”

David narrowed his eyes, his gaze lingering on her lips, now red and slightly swollen from his kiss–a mark of his doing.

A surge of satisfaction–and possessiveness washed over him.

“Caroline he said, his voice dangerously low. “Did he kiss you like this?”

“What does that have to do with you? Mind your own business!” Caroline snapped, shoving him away. She scrambled off his lap, retreating to the far corner of the back seat. “I’m getting out now!”

As she reached for the door handle, David’s icy voice cut through the air.

“He better not have kissed you… Or laid a finger on you
