David took a step forward, but just as he passed her, his hand shot out, grabbing her wrist and pulling her toward him.

To prevent her from escaping, he bent down and lifted her into his arms.

She screamed his name, pounding her fists against his chest and kicking her legs wildly in the air.

David held her firmly, carried her to the car, and threw her into the passenger seat. He swiftly pulled the seatbelt across her and clicked it into place.

Then, he slid into the driver’s seat, stepped on the gas, and sped out of the Ellison residence.

Caroline was so furious she couldn’t even speak. She had just gotten home from work–she hadn’t even had a chance to catch her breath before David stuffed her into the car.
