Watching the two whisper to each other like this, Harper suddenly felt like an unnecessary third wheel.
She stood up, tactfully excusing herself. âAlright, I should get going. When you two arenât busy, come visit me more often.â
David and Caroline walked her out together.
And the whole time, David kept a firm grip on Carolineâs hand, their fingers interlocked.
Only Caroline knew the truthâhe wasnât holding her hand out of affection. He was restraining her.
