Chapter 162 Didnât I entertain so well
Aaron life was over, completely ruined!
Outside the private room, David strode ahead with long, forceful steps. Caroline was dragged behind him, half running to keep up.
Her high heels were too high. After a few steps, she began to fall behind. Just like when they arrived, she had been chasing after him. Now, she was leaving the same way.
At the restaurant entrance, the car was parked silently in the lot. David walked over, yanked open the backseat door, and shoved her inside.
âMr. Ellison,â the driver hesitated, cautiously asking, âShall we head back to the Elliââ
âGet out!â
The driver quickly scurried away, terrified of getting caught in the storm of fury.
Caroline pushed herself up from the seat. The thin strap of her dress had slipped from her shoulder, hanging loosely around her arm, she looked so alluring that any man would struggle to stay in control.â
âYou look absolutely shameless, proving just how low you truly are!â
David gaze burned as he fixated on the thin strap slipping from her shoulder, fury blazing in his eyes. Because at that moment, he was on the verge of losing control himself! But the thought of all those men seeing her like this made his fury boil over even more!
Caroline leaned against the door, making no move to pull up the strap. She let it hang there, deliberately provocative.
âIsnât this exactly what you wanted to see?â Caroline said lightly. âYou made me wear this dress, and this is the result. Everything went according to your plan, didnât it, David?â
The contempt, the mockery, the amusement in her eyes, all of it provoked David.
That was suppose to be his gaze direct at her. But now, it was the other way around!Completely reverse!
Davidâs fury surged burning uncontrollably.
âYou orchestrated everything you set up this dinner, intentionally treating me like I was some treasure in front of them, making it seem like you adored me. And then, you threw me into the wolvesâ den, made me drink with them. I played along perfectly, yet suddenly you werenât happy anymore.â Caroline sighed. âDavid, you are truly impossible to please.â
David loomed over her, pressing in close. âSay that again, Caroline. Do you have a death wish?â
âSo you can do it, but I canât talk about it?â
âYou know your place and mine!â
David leaned in even further. Their noses were barely an inch apart, their breaths mingling. At any moment they could touch.

Finished
He had to admit, Caroline looked stunning in this dress Unlike her usual delicate and graceful demeanour, tonight she carried a soft, feminine allure that made her even more irresistible. And yet, those men had seen her like this, and worse is he was the one who had arranged itâ¦
For the first time, David found himself angry at himself!
Caroline had no idea what was running through his mind. She only knew that their proximity felt dangerous.
She turned her head away. âDavid Ellison, my performance tonight must have surprised you. You expected me to be helpless, afraid, trembling in a corner, clutching my glass, refusing to drink no matter what. And then, you wouldâve achieved your goal. But insteadâ¦â
âI pissed you off.â Caroline lashes quivered slightly. âDavid, maybe you shouldnât underestimate people so much. Even a cornered dog will bite. If you keep pushing me, forcing meâ¦â
What will I do?
A sudden thought flashed through Caroline mind, the dagger hidden beneath under the pillow.
I havekeep it there for so long. If one day I reach my breaking point, if I was pushed too far, tormented beyond endurance, will I finally draw that blade, and take David down with me?
