chapter 24

 We are in this together....Sukh quickly bent down to pick up the veil ...        she was so embarrassed at the moment it was the first time she was infront of him without her veil.... not only him , it was the first time any guy saw her without her veil...Rishabh too was dumbfounded...he was watching her moves with astonishment.... thinking to himself...Oh sh*t what the hell I just did ....it was so embarrassing...I must have looked aroundI used to call her clumpsy and look now I am being messy myself....her breathing hitched seeing him the way he looks at her for the first time his eye had some emotions in it for her but she was unable to make what is it actually....Sukh was thinking I don't know what emotions I found in his eyes today, if I didn't knew him I would have mistaken it for guilt and embarrassment with a spark of anger.... but I know him, it's nothing like that he is pissed for sure ...well he must be , he called me to introduce the briefs of today's meeting and look at me I am wasting his timehe even waited for me in his study and I was here talking with his mother and fighting my inner conflicts...I know he will have to leave early today...that was so careless of me I can be messy with anything but I must be careful about my attire .....what will he think of me....God why am I trapped in this awful situation....The thing which happened next moment was a surprise to her too....Rishabh came towards her holding a corner of the veil , facing elsewhere . ... he was looking to other direction and gestured her to get it from his hands...She quickly grabbed it and wrapped the veil across her shoulders...Sukh was standing there... hyperventilating , her heart was pounding hard in her chest ..**well it's always the case when she is around him...but was unaware why does this happens to her..He moved towards his study and walking few steps turns to face her....he calmly stated this time ... Follow me!!Sukh reluctantly nodded her head in obidience....  Rishabh showed her the way and she followed him to his study ,surprisingly it was a miniature of his office cabinjust with more stacks of books alongwith additional drawing space ...she was inspired by the aura of the place...it was quite, classy and shouted work...He gestured her to be seated at the couch nearby and self went to the desk to collect his file...Sukh did what she was asked to do meanwhile he came to her and showed her the file....he ordered You have 25 minutes with you go through the file and prepare the minutes.... you can come to me if you have any questions or doubts.. Hurry up, I will be leaving after that ....Sukh nodded her head in response and started doing the work assigned to her...Rishabh went back to his desk and prepared everything for the meeting..There was silence around them...and none of the two spoke...after 20 minutes She came to him and asked him the doubts she had.. while Rishabh was glaring at her insanely....She asked him Is this alright Sir... Sir are you there...Rishabh was brought out of his reverie hearing her words and replied Sorry I got zoned out...She smiled to him and continued her words...she also showed him the minutes she prepared....Rishabh approved it and said it's fine ...but also asked her to add some additional facts and give it final touches....Finally the time arrived for him to leave...he went back to his room took all his stuff including the food his mother packed, the files and went to hall, he took leave from his Parents and walked his way out...Eventually Sukh was there beside him all the time, but she didn't uttered anything....He was thinking to himself everyone bid me their goodbyes but here she is why is she not saying anything...is she still embarrassed about what happened today morning...I did apologized to her for that .....well I didn't but I meant to apologise...God knows why is she so uncertain....he slightly turned his head and found her at the doorway....  He was about to leave when he heard a whisper and turned his head....It was Sukh who called him ...she went to him and reminded Sir you forgot this files at the hall.. it is to be inserted with the tender..he smiled to her and said Thanks...he grabbed the things from her hands and walked in fast pace towards the exit....she stopped him saying Sir I want to talk to you it's urgent....he stopped midways...Sukh was still in a conflict between her mind and self... she wanted to inform him about the Scandal but she didn't had any proof to prove herself and doing that now will be not fair...moreover he will be worried about the person behind the Scamp and will be unable to focus on his work...this tender is very important for the Company...and she knew what it values to him....  She didn't uttered a thing and plainly said All the very best of Luck Sir Hope for your Success...I heartily pray you get the deal....Rishabh smiled at this, finally he heard the words he wanted to hear...He replied Thank you Sukh and walked few steps away with a small smile on his faceSuddenly he came back to her and continued Is there something which is bothering you, you seemed to be worried in a concerned voice....She replied nothing Sir I think you are getting late we will talk about this when you will return.. see you in the evening at office I will be accomodating there from today...He replied You are most Welcome ; smiled to her and made his way .....There was a feeling of satisfaction in his heart hearing the Good Wishes from SukhUnfortunately he was self unaware why is she being peace of soul to him ....At Mehra Residence...Roohi woke up from sleep hearing the sound of the alarm clock though she wanted to snooze it but she had a project to complete...She felt the other side of the bed and found Sukh absent there ...she checked the time again and it read 4: 35 ....She thought to herself why is Jiji up so early ....this was the last time she will be sleeping by my side before her accomodation at her office ...why is she up so early she was restless last night ....she will surely harm her health....Shrugging the thoughts away.. She sleepily walked to her study table as she had to do it...To her surprise everything there was arranged , she found a note there which reads...."So ja (go sleep) sleeping beauty.. project complete ho gaya hai tumhara...(your project is completed) just check it for once.. if you want you can add something else too... 🙂🙂🙂"Roohi as overwhelmed reading the note she danced up and down the bed in happiness....she went through the project and found it to be perfect.... everything was designed so professionally....she loved it ...She ran downstairs and found no one there , she was about to return back to her room when she saw her Mom doing the Morning Aarti ....(Prayers)...She went to her and asked about Sukh...her mother informed she went early today ...there was some important office work....she may will come for breakfast....Roohi nodded her head in response to her and said let me call Jiji I wanna talk sometime important....Her Mother reposted don't disturb her she is there for important work and look at you..., you are not ready yet and what about your project.. go and complete it...Roohi exclaimed... I am going to sleep for half an hour more because Jiji completed it...Her Mother said that's bad Rooh you should not have asked her for help, she self is exhausted by office work and you put extra load upon hershe rejoinded but I didn't asked her for help, she did it with her own concern... that's why I wanna thank her...Her mother continued well you should thank her personally thenshe must be coming within an hour she will get her stuff after that...you go freshen upand yes don't be lazy to sleep again I want you to assist me in kitchen like she does ....and smiled to her...Roohi face pouted herself and went straight to the washroom....At Malhotra MansionSukh after bidding Good Bye to Rishabh came back to study and started giving final touches and additional points on the minutes..she was engrossed in there work when a voice from behind broke her composure... She turned back and found Dhruv leaning on the door frame in his Gym wear....She stood up and they both greeted each other with smiles.... She continued you just missed bidding Goodbye to Rishabh Sir ... He left some moments ago...Dhruv chuckled and said Naah I don't regret it... We meet at the parking area..She smiled and said Oh that's great..Dhruv continued Bhai informed me that my assistant is waiting for me at the study but I am surprised to see you here....Dhruv was unaware of the fact that Rishabh will assign Sukh to assist him in the meeting....Dhruv said I am very elated that you joined me in the project.....she smiled back to him and said it's my pleasure to assist you Sir..Afterwhich Dhruv asked so all set prepared with the stuffs..in a businessman tone like Rishabh...Sukh nodded and showed him the work..He joined her and they both prepared for the meeting together....After about two hours of continuous preparations practices and rehearsals they both we ready for the meeting....the clients informed that the meeting is rescheduled and will be happening around 8:30am....Dhruv informed Sukh about that ...Sukh realised that she will be unable to return home ...and also she could not bid goodbye to her familyfor the whole week she will be accomodating in the Office ....Dhruv consoled her saying it's Ok Sukh the driver will get your luggage from your home and you can talk to o them at Video call...and gave her a nervous smileSukh too smiled to him and then went out to call back home....On the way outside....She informed her mother about the venture ,and the situation due to which the driver will come to pick her stuff,she heard Roohi mumbling something from back but she was in a hurry so didn't paid any heed to it and disconnected the call ... They stood up from the place and Dhruv went to freshen up Sukh arranged all the files and documents for the Presentation....They both made their way out when Dhruv's mother stopped them and asked to join for breakfast...Though Sukh protested atfirst but when she said I will never allow my children to go out without having breakfast and you are our family dear....just like my own daughter.........it's our rule that all the family members will have their supper together unless there is a urgency....Rakshit too joined his wife and insisted her to have breakfast with them....she gave upon their insistance and they had breakfast together...Sukh was very nervous at the moment ..... She found Malhotras to be Good People who are down to earth....she acknowledged that the family values people despite their status and treats everyone well....She was disturbed about what will happen when they will come across Mr Rathod and his evil plans....She couldn't had anything out of nervousness and was just moving a spoon in her half empty plate....On Mrs Malhotra's insistance she just had a few bites of Sandwich..Finally they were over it and Dhruv and Sukh went to the meeting....At lunchtime :Sukh was working on her laptop ....she noticed something suspicious today morning at office Mr Rathod was in the storeroom and going through the old files...he even took some of the pictures of the documents....When Sukh went to ask him about that he plainly refused to it and said I was just checking it if the editors have done it correctly or not and rushed out of the place ....she completed her work on the current venture and now was looking upon the old files and tender documents....Everyone went out of the floor....while she was still busy....she found out that many documents are missing from the old tender files....even many of them had missing datas and additional printed documents which add to the expenses of the project which were not a part of the initial deal...All this was troubling her and she wanted to convey this to someone but she knows no one there whom she can trust or who will trust her.. she was worried as hell...Dhruv out of nowhere came to her desk and spoke Glad everything went so well today I must say you are a great assistantshe smiled to him and resumed her work but not before asking does he want to talk about something urgent....on which he refused.....Then again he asked her Hey why are you still here.. don't wanna have lunch..she smiled and said Yaa Maa sent me me my box today .... actually I am working upon something and not willing to have anything....Dhruv sighed hearing this and settled himself in the chair nearby ,he continued Sukh what's wrong with you I know something is troubling you.. but I don't know what is it....see you can trust me upon this...Sukh continued I don't have any proof of my point I know you will not believe me I don't want you to think of me to be interfering in the official matters as this is not my place of work...Dhruv turned her chair toward himself then continued Let's talk about it...but first things first....he opened her lunchbox and took some of it .....he shoved it to her hands and said now eat it...You didn't had breakfast properly at this rate you will temper your health someday...She looked to him in amusement and grabbed it from his hands....She was speedily munching over it ..... while Dhruv was watching her in an awe....        He continued...now tell me what's the problem....She was really hesitant in telling him the story but he was persitant on asking her the reason of her worries....Finally she gave up and narrated to him the whole thing she even showed the files to him......Dhruv was amazed seeing the proofs she collected..... he being impulsive was adamant to fire him on the spot while she stopped him from that and said these are not enough to prove him wrong  he will surely mislead everyone and can easily deceive us  no one will beleive that he is the culprit.... that's why I am worried....He grabbed her hands and said Don't Worry Sukh We are in this togetherI will help you in the matter, he will surely pay for his misdeeds.....She requested him to keep the matter to himself and don't include Rakshit Sir in this matter...she assured her that the matter will be kept to him secretly...she also informed him about Abhimanyu's matter...and they both agreed to share the work load on his behalf..Dhruv called Abhimanyu to the executive floor where Sukh and Abhimanyu greeted him with friendly gesture they assured him that he must not worry about the work load in which he showed them the software which he downloaded from the IT department.Abhimanyu replied Sir I don't wanna be a burden to you guys I assure you I will fulfil my duties at any cost....Dhruv tapped his shoulders and gave him a brotherly hug....Afterwhich Sukh deliniated Abhimanyu about Mr Rathod's misdeeds as they work in Executive floor it will be impossible to them to access the Storeroom everytime without permission or solid reasonsbut Abhimanyu can help then in this matter and he happily agreed to do so...he even added Shweta , a girl from IT department in this plan as she can provide them with the original hardcopy of old files....They made a plan to expose Mr Rathod ....Soon lunchtime was over and they all went back to their desks and resumed their work keeping their small secret safe in their heart....Rishabh was very happy as the meeting for which he had to come all way along from Delhi was ahuge successthe Clients and investors were very happy seeing the Presentation and handled him the deals hand to hand.He went to his hotel Suite and changed his clothes .......he was very happy and couldn't contain his happiness.....he deceided to leave for the town early and made his way straight to the office...At Evening.....Rishabh found very few people at the Marketing floor he was informed by the guards that everyone left early to collect their stuffs ad they were asked to accommodate here from tonight...Rishabh was walking to his cabin when he heard someone whispering softly to someone over the cell phone ..        Dhruv was busy in a Conference with the foreign Clients...Sukh was about to wrap up her work in the executive floor ....she thought of taking a break and then resuming her work upon the beverage drinks Project ....A sub staff informed Sukh that her luggage had arrived and is settled in the 24th floorShe dismissed the Pune and went to the destined floor...she went through the luggage which arrived and found everything perfect there....She was wondering to herself it's a Surprise that Roohi didn't called me after seeing the Project I madeshe may have liked it I guess. But if she does liked it why didn't she called me...Shrugging the thoughts away she went back to the Marketing floor to get all the files she assisted Abhimanyu to work upon....Rishabh saw it was Abhimanyu who was talking upon the cell and was saying don't worry I will come to meet you today I have the stuff with me ...I am hanging up the Call now....I don't want anyone to listen our Conversation..  you know it's not Safe here....will meet and talk....         His suspicion grew stronger hearing this and he shouted Abhimanyu!!!! In a loud voice....Dhruv meet Sukh at the elevator and they both spoke about today's meeting...on reaching the floor they both heard a loud Clamour of Rishabh's voice....They both hurried towards the way....Rishabh was about to say Abhimanyu I fire you!!!when Dhruv interrupted him and said.... brother it's so good to see you and hugged him he broke the hug and was about to snap againwhen Dhruv hold his hand and said I want to have a word with you go to your cabinhe cut him off saying wait I am here in midst of something important...while he said I want to discuss something important too, his eyes hold sincerity which was new as he was always in a fun mood Rishabh sensed that and went to his cabinDhruv consoled Abhimanyu and said Brother you continue your work ... handle me the files and you can leave now.....Rishabh barged inside his cabin where Sukh was already waiting for him....She continued what were you upto why were you shouting over the poor Abhimanyu....        Rishabh felt a bit envious seeing her taking his side....he continued that's none of your business...Sukh reposted it's Ofcourse my business he works under me and I am answerable to his deedshe snapped her saying you don't know what you assistant did, he is Cheating upon us ...Sukh snapped back how come you are so sure that he is Cheating upon us ....you can't blame him without concrete evidence what if I say Mr. Rathod is behind all this....Rishabh's anger fumed hearing her words and he holded her arms tightly causing her wince in pain.... He continued Shut up!!!!..just shut up Okay.... it's not been a week since you know him and he is the person I adore since childhoodthe person you are talking about is just an intern while Mr Rathod holds a prestigious position in the CompanyWe all respect him and I hope you will do the same ... mind yourself before talking any rubbish about someone without any proof.....Sukh continued you can't bear a word against him then why should I bear a word against my assistant ...you want me to respect him but here you are assuming people to be culprit and punishing them without their fault.....He was left dumbfounded at this and said I will fire him now at the moment....with a evil smirk on his face... Sukh reposted you can't do it....He continued who will stop me and what will you do..Sukh continued glaring him I will include Rakshit Sir in this matter....Rishabh was very annoyed hearing his father's name....he tightened his grip on her arms and rebuked are you threatening me !!!!A tear escaped from her eyes due to the severe pain in her hands and she continued her trembling words...I am not threatening you Sir.... I am just reminding you that there are people above you, whom you are answerable to... you may be the boss here but you are not God....Rishabh saw the pain in her eyes and let go off her hands....He turned towards other side and said Get outof my cabin!!!!! in a harsh cold tone...._____________________________________Glimpse of the next chapter.....Rishabh: did you called my father here ...I said answer me dammit....Sukh : I am going to get coffee Sir did you want some....
