Founders Ball

(September 24th 2009) Mira's POV

So it's been nearly two whole weeks since everyone found out about my pregnancy and Matt being the dad. Honestly, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Matt got more grieve then I did from the female population. Where as most guys gave him slaps on the back for scoring with both twins. But everyone soon forgot about it with the founders ball. Which is today at the Lockwoods house.

Tyler had come over to get our loan for the founders hall. Now Bonnie is here to help Elena and I get ready for the founders ball. I only have one dress that will fit. It sucks. Maybe Caroline and I can go shopping after school later this week.

"Delicate flower vs. naughty vixen?" Bonnie asks holding up two of Elena's dresses. As Elena braids my hair.

"Tough call. Can we mix them?" Elena asks her.

"At least you have a choose, I have t wear this" I grumble. "Blue is so not my colour" I state.

"You look great" she assures me.

"Stefan is going to drool over you" I tell her and she smiles.

"Look at you, getting all pretty for your date. You seem happy-ish" Bonnie says smiling at Elena.

"I am...ish" Elena states as she finishes my hair. "Tonight's going to be a good night. But don't let that stop you from telling me whatever it is you wanted to tell me as soon as you walked in the door" she tells her.

"What if I tell you in the morning? I don't want to ruin the night" Bonnie tells her.

"Come on, out with it Bonnie" I tell her as I slip into my dress.

"Okay, but it has to go in the vault, because Caroline will kill me if it gets back to Damon that she squealed. Apparently Stefan has a very interesting back story" Bonnie tells us. "Do you know what happened with his ex-girlfriend Katherine?" she asks Elena.

"I know that they both dated her and that's why they have issues" Elena states.

"Makes me grateful you are so cool about Matt" I tell her.

"I love you and I know neither of you meant it to happen. Besides, he'll be a great dad" she states. I smile and hug her.

"Yeah, they both dated her, only she chose Damon. And that drove Stefan mad, so he did horrible things to try and break them up. He manipulated Katherine. He filled her head with all these lies until finally it worked, and she turned against Damon" Bonnie tells us. I frown along with Elena.

"That sounds like one person's side of the story, meaning Damon's" Elena tells her.

"She's right, there are two sides to every story and only combined can the truth be found" I state.

"I just wanted you to know" Bonnie tells Elena.

"Anyway, his past relationships are none of my business" Elena tells her.

"Unless he's a calculating, manipulative liar. That is your business" Bonnie states.

"Stefan is none of those things" Elena tells her.

"How do you know?" Bonnie asks her.

"Look, lets just enjoy tonight and we will worry about this tomorrow" I tell them. They agree and we finish getting ready. Bonnie and I go to the founders ball together. We're greeted by Carol.

"Mira, you are positively glowing" she says smiling as she hugs me. "Hello Bonnie" she says. "Com in" she tells us and we do so. "Have fun" she adds and we set off.

"I'm gonna go dance, want to come?" Bonnie asks me.

"No thanks, I think I will go look at the display" I tell her. She nods her head and we part ways. I head over to the display and smile at my ancestors things. I then spot the guest registry from the first founders ball. I head over and smile at the familiar names. I freeze when I see the names Stefan and Damon Salvatore. But how could that be? It's even in Stefan's hand writing, we had swapped notes in class before.

I then remember the scary story dad used to tell me about vampires. But that's impossible. It's just a story and besides vampires can't walk in the sun. I have to investigate this. I spot Liz and head over. "Hi Mira, how are you?" she asks me.

"I am good, I was wondering if I could ask you something" I state.

"Of course" she tells me with a smile.

"Do vampires exist?" I ask in a whisper and she looks shocked. "I think there's one in town. Dad used to tell me stories and I thought that's all they were. But now, with the attacks. I'm not so sure and I'm scared" I tell her.

"It's not safe to talk here, come to the station one day and we'll talk. But I assure you, you, your baby and the town are safe" she assures me. I smile and Caroline joins us.

"Really, you couldn't even change out of the badge for this?" she asks her mum.

"I'm working, honey. Who's the date you just tried to sneak past me?" Liz asks her.

"Just some guy" Care says with a shrug.

"He's a little old for you, don't you think?" Liz asks her.

"Oh, 'cause otherwise you'd approve. Yeah, I doubt that" Care mutters.

"Ease up Care" I tell her.

"Where's your dad?" Liz asks her, changing the subject.

"Memphis" Care answers.

"Good" Liz says.

"With Steven" Care adds and I give her a pointed look at she leaves us.

"Does tomorrow work?" I ask Liz.

"Works for me" she tells me and smiles touching my locket. "You still wear it" she states.

"Of course, it was a gift from you" I say with a smile. "I love it and it smells like mum's perfume" I state.

"Never take it off, ok?" she asks. I nod my head. "Go have fun" she tells me and I do so. I go look for Bonnie to see her sitting at a table.

"Tired of dancing already?" I ask her as I sit down.

"Yeah" she says with a smile. "Are you having fun?" she asks me.

"Yes, though it'd be more fun if I wasn't 18 weeks pregnant" I tell her.

"You look great" she assures me and I smile. "You hungry?" she asks.

"I could go for some ice cream" I tell her. She smiles and we head to the kitchen. We grab a tub of ice-cream and start to eat it. We're soon joined by Elena, who tells us about her disagreement with Stefan.

"This is my fault. I planted doubt. I'm a doubt planter" Bonnie states. As Elena grabs a spoon to eat the ice-cream with us.

"It's not your fault. I just—I feel terrible because I said that I wouldn't get in the middle of it, and then that's exactly what I did. I got all snotty" Elena explains. Just then Mrs Lockwood appears.

"Elena, honey, there you are. I notice the watch still isn't in the collection" she states.

"Oh, um, I'm sorry, Mrs. Lockwood. I, um, I couldn't find it. I guess it's still packed up in my parents' stuff somewhere" Elena states.

" I see. Well, please let me know if you do find it" Carol states.

"Ok" Elena says.

"Sorry about the ice-cream, I had a craving and Elena is having boy trouble" I say sheepishly.

"It's fine dear" she assures me with a chuckle. "I went through a tub a day with Tyler" she states. I smile and she leaves us. Elena leaves, saying she needed to use the powder room.

"I'm gonna go find my aunt, thanks for coming with me Bonnie" I say.

"Anytime, us single girls have to stick together" she states. I give her a hug and left the kitchen. I find Jenna agreeing to lunch with Logan.

"Whoa, you're pregnant Elena?" he asks shocked.

"It's Mira and yes I am" I tell him.

"Right, I think I heard about that through the rumor mill" he states. "Will you look glowing" he tells me. I roll my eyes.

"My feet are killing me, can we go home?" I ask Jenna. She agrees and we left. She drives us home and I messaged Elena & Bonnie. To let them know I had left. When we got home, I changed into something more comfortable and let my hair out of it's braid. I brushed it out and put it in a messy bun. Before doing homework on my bed.
