Denver

Mira's POV

I've been in Denver for a week and things have been great. Jeremy can't get over how big Gray has grown since he left Mystic Falls. Matt calls often along with Elena, Bonnie and Caroline. Klaus calls every day, he said his brother Kol may pay me a visit. He asked if I could teach him a little bit about this century, which I agreed too.

Anyway, I'm at the park with Jeremy and Gray. Both are playing are Jeremy's new dog. Gray crawls everywhere and is sitting up on his own. He has even pulled himself to his feet while holding the Anderson's coffee table. It won't be long until he starts walking. He has been babbling more, I think he'll be saying his first word soon.

Suddenly my phone rings and I smile when I see the ID. "Hi Klaus" I say with a smile.

"Hello luv, how are you and Gray doing?" he asks me.

"We're doing great, we're at the park with Jeremy" I tell him.

"Really, can you send me a photo?" he asks me.

"Of course" I say and take a small video of Gray rolling a ball to Jeremy as Tyra (the dog) trots beside it. "They are playing with Jeremy's new puppy Tyra" I tell him.

"Thank you luv, I'll call again later" he tells me.

"Of course, talk later" I tell him and we hang up. I go over to Jeremy and the other two.

"Who was on the phone?" he asks me curious.

"Just a good friend" I tell him. As Gray crawls over to me. I smile and pick up my baby boy. I can't believe he is ten and half months old. Gray grabs my necklace, "no baby boy" I say taking it out of his hands. Jeremy looks at my necklace and squints at it. "What is it?" I ask him.

"Did you change the stone?" he asks me. I curse, I still haven't told him yet. I've bee surviving on blood bags. And I've managed to avoid telling him, just waning to enjoying catching up with him.

"Yes, I did" I admit.

"Why?" he asks me curious.

"I'm sorry for not telling you earlier Jeremy, but I died. No I was murdered by Stefan Salvatore when he had his emotions off" I tell him. He looks at me shocked. "The only reason I am here today is because a friend of mine was having me drink a small portion of his blood each morning in secret. If not for him, I wouldn't be here to raise Grayson" I explain.

"I can't believe none of you told me" he states.

"I wanted to do it in person" I tell him. "I'm sorry for being quiet for so long, but I just missed you and wanted to forget that world for a while" I state.

"So you're a vampire now?" he asks and I nod my head. "Wow, I can't believe I didn't notice" he states. "I take it the vampire who fed you his blood changed the stone" he adds. I nod my head.

"I've been living on blood bags, I've never hurt anyone. My friend has helped me a lot, in fact it was his idea I come here. He said I was ready" I state.

"I'm just glad you both are ok, though I can't lie and say I am happy about you being a vampire" he states.

"I'm not happy either, I never wanted to be a vampire. But I'm adapting well to the change of diet" I tell him. "We should get back, Mrs Anderson wanted us home for lunch" I state. He agrees and he puts Tyra on the lead. We go back to the Andersons, neither knowing what's going on at home or about Klaus threatening Bonnie with Jeremy's life.

(Next day)

Jeremy is at the batting cage with his friend. While I am at the Andersons alone with Gray. As teh Andresons took Tyra out for the day. We're out on the porch and he is crawling around babbling to himself when I hear a car pull up. I look up and gasp in surprise. "Elena!" I cheer and rush over hugging her.

"Mira, can't breath" she says.

"Opps, sorry" I say letting her go. "What you doing here?" I ask her.

"We've come to get you two and Jeremy" she states.

"Why?" I ask her confused as I pick up Gray.

"It's not safe here" she states.

"What are you talking about? It is safe here" I tell her. Gray makes grabby hands at Elena and I smile. "I think someone missed his auntie" I state and she smiles taking him. Suddenly I feel a sharp and burning pain in my neck.

"Sleep tight" Damon whispers as my world goes dark. When I wake up again I am in a motel room with Jeremy and Gray. No sign of Elena or Damon.

"What the hell is going on?" I demand.

"A lot apparently" Jeremy tells me as he hands me a sleeping Gray. "Originals were linked, now they aren't and if you kill one their entire blood line dies. Damon is trying to find out who sired their line" he states.

"I need to call Klaus" I state.

"Why would you call him?" he asks me.

"His blood turned me Jeremy, if he dies I die" I tell him. "Where's my phone?" I ask him.

"I think Elena has it, I'll go get it" he states. "Besides I need to tell her and Damon something" he adds. I nod my head and he leaves the room. I rock Gray wondering what the hell I've been missing while I've bee here. Why didn't Klaus tells me about any of this? I am tired of all the secrets. He promised he'd never keep a secret from me. He is gonna get hell from me for keeping me out of the loop.

When I heard the we were going to Kanas and Jeremy gave me my phone back. I texted Klaus where we were going. Adding that he had some serious explaining to do when I get back to Mystic Falls. While Damon and Elena went to talk to someone called Mary, Jeremy stayed with Gray and I. He told me about how he caught Elena making out with Damon. Honestly after what Stefan did to me, I'd be glad if she switched brothers.

So Elena and Damon failed to find out who sired his bloodline. "It shouldn't matter" I state.

"What do you mean?" Jeremy asks.

"Yes we don't know if Klaus sired the Salvatore line. But we know he turned two of us. Or do I not matter to you anymore Elena?" I demand glaring at her.

"Of course you do, Bonnie is trying to find a way to de-link you from him. If she can't we were gonna drop it. I'd never wish for you to die for real" she states.

"You sure have a funny way of showing it" I sneer. "Drop me off at the Manor, I need to have a serious chat with Klaus" I state.

"No can do" Damon tells me.

"Why? Because I'm sired to him?" I demand and Jeremy looks surprised. As do the other two. "I'm not stupid, I figured it out awhile ago and I can handle myself. Take Gray to Matt, I know his missed his son" I state.

(Time skip)

"Klaus!" I shout as I enter the manor. He appears in front of me and I slap him. "If you ever threaten my family again, it will be the last thing you ever do" I snap.

"I wouldn't of hurt him luv, I just had to have the witch believe I would" he states.

"I don't care!" I scream. "I thought I could live being sired to you, that you were my friend, that you'd never lie to me. But now I know I can't trust you" I state.

"You can Mira, I promised I'd protect you and Grayson always. And I keep my word" he states.

"You didn't keep the one about secrets" I remind him. "And now you can't make me do what you want anymore" I state.

"What do you mean?" he asks me. "You're sired, and that is unbreakable" he states.

"Nothing is unbreakable" I tell him looking him in the eye. "Being sired stemmed from my feelings for you. It longer exists if I don't have them" I state. "You see, the one thing Isobel and I had in common. Was our love for research and while I was in Denver. I figured out I was sired to you and how to break it" I tell him.

"How?" he asks me.

"Really simple really, I just had to flip my switch" I tell him. "No emotions, no sire bond" I explain. "Though I couldn't be sure if it'd work until I got back" I state.

"You don't have your switch on?" he asks me shocked.

"I do" I tell him. "I have a son to raise, I can't be emotionless forever. Just a flip off and on again" I state. "Now I am going home and you can't stop me" I tell him.

"Please don't go" he pleads. "I promise no more secrets, I'll tell you everything" he states. "I give you my word" he adds.

"That means nothing until you live up to it" I tell him. "Which I will give you the chance to, this is not the end of our friendship" I assure him. "I'll call you tomorrow, tonight I just want to be able to reconnect with my friends" I tell him

"I understand and I am sorry for the secrets" he tells me. I see no lies in his eyes. "I only want you safe and happy, along with Gray" he tells me. I give him a small smile and hug him before leaving. I go to Matt's to see him hugging our son close.

"Are you ok?" he asks me.

"I will be, want to fill me in?" I ask him. He nods his head and we sit in his living room. He tells me everything that's happened since the ball. Before we called it a night.
