(Our Town) Mira's POV

So it's been two weeks since I found out about Stefan stealing Klaus' family. I feel bad for Klaus. He must be hurting so much with his family missing. I'd hate it if someone stole Elena, Jeremy and Grayson from me. Even though Elena is keeping secrets again.

But I can't focus on that right now. It's Caroline's eighteenth birthday today. Sure, she's a vampire and is no longer aging. But she loves celebrating her birthday. Or she did, she didn't turn up at school to see her locker. Which we had decorated for her.

So now we're at her house to surprise her instead. This time Grayson is with us. He had his first day at daycare today. He seem to have had a lot of fun. Anyway, we hear Caroline pull up and hide. We went until she comes to the living room to come out of hiding. "Surprise!" we cheer.

"Happy birthday" Matt says.

"What are you guys doing here?" Caroline asked us.

"Well you blew off school and missed our work of birthday art" Elena tells her. She takes off the crown she's wearing and put it on Caroline's head. And I hand Caroline the 'birthday girl' sash.

"Change into warmer clothes, we are going to the Falls. S'mores, camp fire" Bonnie lists.

"Cake! Like when we were little" Elena and I add.

"Except with tequila" Matt adds.

"For you guys, not me" I clarify. I a still staying clear of alcohol. Though maybe I can have Tyler make me a hot chocolate. I already had the coffee he'd given me this morning at school. Elena doesn't know I am getting for him. Otherwise she'd probably tell me not to drink it.

"Thanks, guys. Really, um, I'm just not feeling my birthday this year" Caroline tells us. I gasp looking at her shocked.

"I'm sorry, what? You've already claimed your birthday as everyone's favorite day of the year" Bonnie states.

"Exactly" I say.

"Yeah, and now, it's just a reminder that technically, I'm dead. Look, I didn't even like 17. And the only point to being 17 is to get to 18. It's a filler year; I'm stuck in a filler year" Caroline tells us.

"You're not stuck Care" I tell her handing her Grayson. A hug from him always cheers people up. She smiles at him as he grabs her hair tugging gently. It's his new favourite thing to do. Tugging on long hair or necklaces.

"Okay, well I think I have another idea" Elena states. We go to the cemetery. Elena's idea was to have a funeral, to say goodbye to Caroline's old life. It's actually a cool idea.

We had cake and toasted to Caroline's human life. Now we're just chilling around a fire. Grayson yawns. It's nearly time for him to go to bed. Caroline had text Tyler. "Give her a break! You can't control what everyone does all the time" Bonnie snaps at Elena.

"Ouch Bon" Matt says.

"Where'd that come from?" I ask her.

"Sorry, I know it's Caroline birthday, funeral or whatever but, I just feel it's really wrong that you compelled Jeremy to leave town" she says looking at Elena.

"You did what?" I demand glaring at Elena. "We promised to never compel him again" I remind her.

"I'm doing it to protect him. I want to give him a chance to have a quiet normal life" Elena states. "I want you to go too" she adds looking at me.

"He should be able to choose how he wants to live it, you're taking his choices away" Bonnie rants.

"I agree, I only agreed to Jeremy leaving because I thought it was his decision. Now I find out you had Damon compel him again" I snap.

"Bonnie, Mira you can't tell him" Elena tells us.

"The hell I can't, you can't boss me around" I tell her.

"Why? You gonna compel us not too?" Bonnie challenges.

"You know, you guys are ruining a perfect funeral" Matt tells us.

"I'm sorry. I'm just gonna go sleep it off or something. Happy birthday" Bonnie tells Care.

"I'm coming" I tell her. "It's time for Grayson to go to bed anyway" I state. "Happy Birthday Caroline" I say then leave with Bonnie and Grayson.

"Need a lift?" Bonnie asks and I nod. We get into her car. "So you gonna tell Jeremy?" she asks.

"I don't know" I tell her with a sigh. "If I tell him, he'll get mad at Elena and they'll fight again" I state. "I hate seeing them fight" I add.

"So we just don't tell him?" she asks me.

"Not right now, but we will. Besides Klaus nearly got him killed. Maybe it is good he leaves for a while" I state.

"What about you and Grayson?" she asks me.

"I have been thinking about it, but right now I just want to make sure Jeremy is ok" I tell her. She nods and drops me off at home. I put Grayson to bed and spoke to Jeremy. He is really excited about going to Denver. I told him Grayson and I will visit him sometime. I then showered and got ready for bed.

I was sleeping soundly, when I woke up to a pain in my chest. I gasp in pain and grab the hilt of a dagger in my chest. "No hard feelings Mira, can't have Klaus making more hybrids" I hear Stefan say. Before my world goes dark.

(Time skip)

I wake with a gasp. I sit up and see myself in an unfamiliar room. "Easy love, you've bee through a lot" Klaus tells me as he enters the room.

"What happened?" I ask him confused.

"Stefan killed you, tried to kill Elena too" he states.

"What? Why would he do that?" I demand as tears appear in my eyes. "Oh my god, where's Grayson?" I demand.

"Shush, calm down love. He is fine" he assures me looking to the right. I follow his gaze and relax when I see Grayson sleeping soundly in a portable cot.

"Where are we?" I ask Klaus.

"My mansion, I brought you both here after I heard Stefan had killed you" he states.

"If he killed me, how am I here?" I ask him confused. He gives me a look. "I had vampire blood in my system" I state. "But, how? I don't remember drinking any" I state.

"It's in the special coffee Tyler would give you every morning. I told him to give it to you" he states.

"It was your blood" I state and he nods his head. I hug him tightly. "Thank you Klaus, if not for you Grayson would have lost me" I say and start to cry tears of joy.

"Love, you know what you have to do next" he tells me pushing me a way gently. "You're in transition. You can either die or drink this bag and live for your son" he states holding out a blood bag.

"Of course I want to live" I tell him. Taking the blood bag. "Will you help me?" I ask him.

"Of course, it's my duty as your sire and I'd be honoured to help you" he tells me. "Now drink and get some rest. You've had a long night" he states. I nod my head and drink the blood bag. Then put it in the bin once it was empty. I lay down and he tucks me in. "Sleep well" he tells me before turning the light off and leaves me to sleep.

(The Ties That Bind)

It's been ten days since I died and came back a vampire. I've been staying with Klaus ever since. So that I can learn to control myself. He even got some baby things for Grayson and a wardrobe of new cloths for me. I talk to Matt and Caroline often on the phone. I'm sad I wasn't there to see Jeremy off. And with my heighten emotions, I am angrier at Elena then before my transition. She knows I'm alive though.

Grayson is with me, I was scared I'd hurt him. But his scent soothes me. Klaus changed the stone in my locket to a Lapis Lazulu. And Bonnie spelled it for me, so now I can walk about during the day. Though I've mostly spent my time in doors. While Klaus is still looking for his family. I wish I could help him and I want get back at Stefan for killing me. But Klaus told me he wants me to stay out of it and focus on gaining control & Grayson. So that's what I'm doing.

I was on the phone to Bonnie earlier. She and Elena are looking for her birth mother for some reason. Klaus over heard the conversation and sent one of his hybrids to find Bonnie's mum. I had a peaceful day at the manor. I come down to heat a bottle for Grayson and see Klaus has his family back. "You got them back, I'm so happy for you" I tell him. As I readjust Gray in my arms.

"Thank you love, but one if missing" he states. As one of his hybrids brings in an other coffin.

"You've got your family back. Finally. You're gonna open them?" the hybrid asks Klaus.

"Not quite yet. I still have some unfinished business to take care of" Klaus tells him.

"What business?" the hybrid asks. Suddenly, he is squirming and falls to the floor, dead. Elijah is standing behind him with his heart in his hand. I gasp in horror and back away. As Klaus looks shocked.

"So, Niklaus" Elijah says.

"Elijah" Klaus and I say together.

"What did I miss?" Elijah asks.

(Bringing out the Dead)

"Well I died and came back" I tell him.

"You're a vampire?" he asks shocked.

"Yep, Klaus has been training me. He's been a really good friend" I state with a smile. "Anyway, I gotta go make Grayson a bottle, I'll leave you two to talk" I tell them.

"Good idea love" Klaus says. I smile at him and head to the kitchen. As I was heating a bottle for Grayson. I hear a fight break out between Klaus and Elijah. I curse and place Grayson in his high chair as Kimberly appears.

"Watch my son" I tell her and rush out of the room. "Stop!" I shout as I see Klaus go to dagger Elijah. "For god sakes, there's a baby in the house" I snap. Klaus lets Elijah up, both look ashamed.

"Mikael is dead" Klaus tells Elijah.

"What did you say?" Elijah asks.

"Mikael is dead" I repeat. "I saw it with my own eyes, though I was suffering from a stab wound at the time" I state.

"He's gone Elijah. Forever" Klaus tells him.

"Why do our family remain in these coffins? Finn for over 900 years, Kol for over a century" Elijah demands.

"Because of Stefan Salvatore. He holds the one thing keeping me from freeing them" Klaus states. "We're good here love, can tend to Grayson" he tells me. I nod and return to the kitchen. I see Kimberly burping Grayson and an empty bottle.

"Thank you" I tell her.

"No problem, Klaus said to help you in anything" she states handing me Grayson. "Anyway, I should get back to my duties" she adds and leaves. I smile as Grayson grabs my hair.

"You really need to stop that" I tell him. In a gentle scolding tone. I have him let my hair go and head to the living room. I place him in his play pen. He starts to play with his toys. We were having a grand old time when Klaus appears. "Where's Elijah?" I ask.

"Said he needed fresh air" he states. "I am sorry about the fight love, Elijah was just mad I daggered him" he tells me.

"It's fine, though please try to refine from anymore fights with Grayson in the house" I tell him.

"Will do" he says. He gets a text and frowns. "I think you and Grayson should go out tonight" he tells me.

"Why?" I ask.

"The Salvatores are coming over for dinner" he states.

"But what if I hurt someone? Or worse?" I ask him scared. I couldn't live with myself if I hurt anyone.

"You'll be fine" he assures me. "I have faith in you" he states. "Why don't you go see Caroline?" he suggests.

"That's a great idea" I say with a smile. "Will you be ok?" I ask him.

"I'll be fine love" he assures me. "Just focus on Grayson and Caroline" he tells me. I nod my head and pick up Grayson as he yawns. "Have fun" he says and I head upstairs. I got a bag ready, maybe Caroline and I can have a sleep over.

I drove Grayson and I to Care's house. "Mira!" she cheers when she answers the door. She hugs me. "How did you know about my dad?" she asks me.

"Something wrong with Bill?" I ask.

"You don't know?" she asks.

"I've been kind of out of the loop at Klaus'" I tell her. "So what's wrong?" I ask.

"He's dying" she states.

"Oh Care, I'm so sorry" I tell her. I hand her Grayson and she goes in. She stops when she realizes I'm not following.

"Oh right, you need to be invited in" she states. "Mum!" she calls and Liz appears. "Can you please invite Mira in?" she asks.

"Come in Mira" Liz says. I smile and enter the house. I give her a hug.

"I'm sorry about Bill" I tell her.

"I'm sorry about what happened to you" she states.

"I'm alive, that's all that matters" I tell her. "So where is Bill?" I ask. He appears.

"Elena" he says.

"Mira" I correct him.

"Right and that must me your son. Caroline told me about him" he states looking at Grayson in Caroline's arms.

"Yes, he is ten months old" I state.

"Time sure does fly" Liz states as she takes him into her arms. He yawns. "I'll go put him down for a nap" she states. And heads upstairs.

"Mira, can I talk to my dad alone?" Care asks.

"Of course" I tell her. "I hope you find peace Bill" I tell him.

"Take good care of your son and never forget who you are in here" he says pointing to my heart. I smile nodding my head and head upstairs. I find Liz in silent tears. I sit beside her and hug her.

"It'll be ok" I assure her. "You should be with them, it won't be long now" I tell her. She nods her head with a sniffle and hands me Grayson. Before leaving. I wait for a while until I hear things go quiet. I place Grayson on the bed and surround him with pillows. Before heading downstairs.

I see Bill's dead body is lying peacefully on the couch. Caroline is clutching his hand and crying. Liz has tears in her eyes as she locks eyes with Caroline. "I'm so sorry for your lose guys" I tell them. "Do you want me to stay the night? I can cook" I tell them.

"That'd be appreciated" Liz tells me. Care nods her head. I leave them and heading to the kitchen. I make spaghetti. Dinner was silent until we heard Grayson wake up. Liz went to get him and I put on the Notebook. We all sit down to watch it as Grayson sits in his bouncer. I hug Liz and Caroline as we sit on the couch. It was a sad night for them, but I'll be here to support them both. It's what Klaus wanted. Me to focus on Caroline and Grayson.
