Klaus' Return

So I've skipped the last three episodes; End of the Affair, Disturbing Behaviour, and The Hybrid. As Mira and Grayson weren't really involved. So it's been ten weeks since Mira and Elena's birthday. Mira is still dating Matt, though things haven't really progressed in their relationship. Unlike Tyler and Caroline, who are officially dating now and make out whenever possible. They go at it like rabbits. If Caroline wasn't a vampire, Mira teased her that she'd be pregnant by now.

Anyway, it's Senior Prank night at Mystic Falls High School. Caroline convinced everyone to go. As no one could mind little Grayson, Mira took him along. He is now eight months old. It was supposed to be a fun night, with no drama. But then Stefan turned up with two originals and everything goes to hell. But lets start from the beginning of prank night.

Mira's POV

I had just managed to put Gray to sleep. It's about eight o'clock. We have just finished laying out the mouse traps in a classroom when someone walks in and sets them off. Waking Grayson, who whimpers as Matt turns on the lights. "Seriously Matt? I just got him to sleep" I grumble as I rock our son.

"Oh, come on! Seriously?! Do you know how long it took for us to set all this up?!" Care demands. I give her a look and she says "sorry" sheepishly.

"Forgot about senior prank night, huh?" Tyler asks him.

"Clearly" Matt says. "I'm sorry beautiful" he tells me. I wave him off and manage to rock Gray back to sleep. Hopefully nothing else wakes him, he needs between 11 -12 hours sleep each night. And I don't want him to sleep in late and ruin his sleeping schedule.

"How could you forget? We've only been waiting for this since like freshman year" Care states.

"Yeah, Matt. If Mira and I are doing this, you're doing this" Elena tells him.

"Agreed" I say.

"I'm kind of surprised any of you are doing this" Matt tells us.

"Caroline's making us" Bonnie tells him.

"We're about to be seniors. These are the memories that will stay with us forever, and if we don't..." Care starts to say.

"And if we don't create these memories now, then what's the point of it all?" Elena and I finish for her.

"Go ahead and make fun, I don't care" Caroline tells us.

"You're all lame. And I've got ten more classrooms to prank" Tyler tells us. And leaves the room. Elena's about to leave too.

"Hey! Where are you going?" Bonnie asks her.

"To superglue Alaric's desk shut. I'm making memories" Elena states. We all smile.

"I love you" Care tells her and Elena leaves the room.

"Ok Matt, since you set off the traps. You are going to help us reset them" I tell him. He nods his head. We start to reset them. Soon they are all reset and we leave the classroom.

"I'm gonna go check with Tyler, see what other classes need doing" Care tells us.

"You mean, you're going to make out with him" I tease.

"Go, we'll go tp the pool room" Bonnie tells her. Care gives her a thankful look and leaves. Bonnie grabs a pack of toilet paper. The three of us head to the pool room. Gray still sound asleep.

"Surprised you brought him" Matt states.

"No one available to baby sit" I say sheepishly. "I just pray nothing else wakes him, otherwise it'll throw his sleep schedule out of whack" I state.

"Don't worry, nothing will disturb him" he assures me. I smile and we soon reach the pool room. Bonnie hands us each a roll and we start to tp the room.

"This is fun, right?" Bonnie asks us.

"Yeah, it is" I admit.

"You both sound like Caroline" Matt tells us.

"Come on, I am embracing her philosophy. You should be more into this" Bonnie tells him.

"She's right" I tell him.

"I know. Where's Jeremy tonight?" Matt asks Bonnie.

"I haven't talked to him all day. We're having, um...He, uh, he told me about seeing Vicki" Bonnie tells him.

"Yeah, that is still weird" I tell her as I throw another roll.

"Ohh. Good, I'm glad that you know" Matt tells her. "I mean, I told Mira of course. But it's good that you finally know" he states.

"I'm sorry. Is it weird talking about your sister like this?" she asks him.

"No, I...I just kind of want to see her myself, you know? I mean, I never got to say good-bye to her" he states. I offer him our sleeping baby and he takes him.

"We named Gray after Vicki" I tell Bonnie. "His middle name" I state.

"Do you realize that just last summer, you and I were lifeguards at the pool? And the only two problems I had in my life were that Elena was breaking up with me and I sucked at CPR" Matt says to Bonnie. I sigh and look at the water. There he goes bringing up one of his ex's again. I wish he'd stop doing that.

"Everything was so different then" Bonnie states.

"We were all different" I tell her.

"Yeah. Now Elena's dating a vampire, you're a witch, my sister's a ghost, and Mira had my baby. And I'm...I'm just a guy who's wondering how life got so screwed up" Matt states.

"It's crazy, Matt. I...I can't imagine what it must be like for you" Bonnie states.

"It just, uh, kind of explains why I'm not that into senior prank night. I'll go grab a couple more rolls. Then we'll hit the gym" he tells us and leaves with Gray.

"You ok Mira?" Bonnie asks me concerned.

"Yeah, it's just things haven't really progressed between Matt and I. He always brings up Elena or Caroline and how they dated. I feel like he doesn't really want to date me, that he just sees Elena or the mother of his son. Not me" I tell her.

"Do you love him?" she asks.

"Of course, he is Gray's father" I tell her.

"Let me rephrase that, are you in love with him?" she asks me.

"No" I say sadly and she gives me a hug.

"You guys tried, that's all that matters. But you have to tell Matt" she tells me.

"I will, just not tonight. I'll do it tomorrow" I assure her. She nods and Matt rejoins us as I wipe my eyes.

"You ok Mira?" he says me concerned.

"Yeah, just memories" I tell him. "Anyway, we should get to the gym" I state. He nods and hands me Gray. The three of us head for the gym.

"You know in seven years, this could be Gray" Matt tells me.

"No, he is staying a baby forever" I tell him and he laughs with Bonnie. We enter the gym and freeze when we see Klaus with my sister.

"Bonnie, Mira get out of here!" Elena shouts. Gray steers in my arms as I hold him closer. Klaus rushes over to us.

"Ah, I was wondering when you'd show up. Now we can get started" he says to Bonnie. "Your baby has gotten big Mira, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised you survived as Elena did" he states.

"You stay away from my son" I tell him. Matt wraps a protective arm around us.

"Ah you must be the proud father" Klaus says. Before looking over his shoulder. I see Chad and Dana are here also. "Ah, Dana, why don't you relax? You and Chad sit tight" he tells them and they sit on the bleachers. He looks back at Bonnie. "I assume you're the reason Elena and Mira are still walking around alive?" he asks her.

"Actually Elijah is the reason I'm alive" I correct him.

"If you want to blame someone, blame me" Bonnie tells him.

"Oh, there's no need for blame, love. Just your witchy interference and my brother's seems to have caused some undesirable side effects. And since you partly caused the problem, I'm going to have you find the fix" Klaus tells her. Just then Tyler is dragged into the room by a blonde. And she isn't Caroline.

"Get off me!" he shouts and Gray whimpers.

"Shush" I say and kiss his forehead before rocking him gently.

"Hush now, we don't want to wake the baby" the woman tells Tyler.

"I'd like you all to meet my sister Rebekah. Word of warning. She can be quite mean" Klaus tells us. She tells him to not be an ass handing him Tyler. "I'm going to make this very simple...Every time I attempt to turn a werewolf into a vampire hybrid, they die during the transition. It's quite horrible, actually" he explains.

"Klaus please, let me take my son out of the room?" I plead.

"Rebekah, please take them outside while I finish talking to these lot" Klaus says. She nods and comes over to me. Matt gets in front of us.

"It's ok Matt, we'll be ok" I assure him. He steps aside reluctantly. And Rebekah leads me out of the room. I look down at Grayson and sigh, happy he is still asleep.

"How old?" Rebekah asks.

"Eight months" I tell her.

"Your almost more beautiful then the original" she tells me and I roll my eyes. "What are your names?" she asks.

"My son is Grayson and I am Mira" I tell her.

"Mira? Unusual" she states.

"Short for Miranda" I explain. "I thought Klaus had killed all his siblings" I state.

"He daggered us and cared us around in coffins" she states.

"Lovely" I mutter.

"Blonde boy the dad?" she asks.

"Matt is, yes" I state.

"You don't love him" she states.

"We tried dating, but it hasn't been working. I was going to talk to him about it tomorrow" I tell her. "Why do you care? You don't know me" I state.

"I have a soft spot for babies" she tells me. Just then Matt and Bonnie exit the gym.

"Mira, are you both ok?" Bonnie and Matt ask.

"We're fine, what's going on?" I ask them.

"Klaus killed Tyler" Matt states.

"After feeding him his blood. He wants me to find a way to save his hybrids" Bonnie explains.

"He is keeping Elena and you two for safe keeping" Matt adds.

"We'll be ok Matt, help Bonnie" I tell him. He nods and they leave. Rebekah leads me back into the gym and I avoid looking at Tyler. "Can I take my son home?" I ask Klaus.

"Afraid not love" he tells me.

"So this is the other latest doppelgänger. The original one was much prettier, as it your sister" Rebekah tells Elena.

"Enough, Rebekah. Take the wolf boy elsewhere, would you?" Klaus asks. "I shall keep an eye on this lot" he adds. Rebekah drags Tyler behind her by his arm and leaves. Klaus looks at Elena. "Just ignore her. Petty little thing" he tells her. "So how did my brother save you?" he asks me curious.

"The resurrection elixir he had made for Katherine five hundred years ago" I state. "I didn't wake straight away, was out for a couple of days" I add.

"We thought she wouldn't wake up" Elena adds.

"I'm ok Elena" I assure her. Just then Stefan appeared. I don't know what happened next. As Klaus stole my locket and compelled me to leave with Grayson. He gave me a set of car keys and told me to go wait in it. I did so.

I don't know how much time passed. But soon Klaus appeared with my sister. Who is bleeding from the neck unconscious. "She's fine, we are taking her to the hospital" he tells me.

"We are?" I ask relieved.

"Yes, where she will be making a small donation to a worthy cause. Turns out I need doppelganger blood to sire hybrids. My mother intended the doppelganger to die in the sacrifice, a fail-safe encase I ever broke my curse. To prevent me from siring a new species. But thanks to Bonnie and my brother. I have you and Elena" he states.

"No, I can't do that. Gray needs me" I tell him.

"Don't worry, your sister will give me more then enough for the time being. I won't let either of you or your baby die" he assures me as we reach the hospital. "Remain here until I return" he says compelling me. I nod my head. He grabbed Elena and left.

My phone rings. "Matt" I say.

"Oh Mira, thank god. Are you and Gray ok?" he asks.

"For now, he wants mine and Elena's blood" I tell him.

"Don't worry, Damon is on his way. You'll both be safe" he assures me.

"He'll get himself killed" I tell him. "Matt, I need to tell you something. I have to say it now encase I don't see you for a while" I state.

"Don't talk like that, we will see each other again soon" he tells me.

"I'm not in love with you Matt. I love our son and you are the best father he could have. And we tried to make it work. But I can't lie to myself or you anymore" I tell him.

"Did Klaus compel you?" Matt asks.

"No, I mean yes. But this is me talking Matt, I talked to Bonnie about it earlier in the pool room. Matt, know I that I will guard our son with my life and we will come back" I tell him. Before I can get a response. My phone is taken and I see Klaus. Who looks like his seen a ghost.

He gets into the drivers seat and takes off quickly. "Where are you taking us?" I ask him.

"We're leaving this town, your friend Damon has unleashed a monster. Who will kill anyone he sees as a threat. Including you and your sister" he states.

"Where's Elena?" I demand.

"With Damon no doubt" he states.

"Klaus, this is my home. My son's home, please don't take us away" I plead.

"Sorry love, but it's for your own good. Unless you want to die for real and leave your son with only Matt" he tells me. I stay quiet and look at my baby. I didn't want that. I survived death once, I won't risk leaving Gray again. Even if it means I have to go with Klaus until this so called monster is dealt with.
