Carnival Night

Mira's POV

Elena woke me up today, asking if I wanted to help her and Bonnie set up the carnival. I agreed and sent Matt a text. Wishing him and Caroline a good morning. Telling him where I'd be once he had seen Caroline. He promised to drop Grayson off at the school after seeing Caroline. He assured me Grayson is fine.

I got ready and left with Elena for the school. We meet Bonnie and immediately got work. Making sure everything is perfect for the carnival tonight. While Bonnie complains about Katherine. "Honestly I saw through her straight away" I state.

"You did?" Elena asks me surprised.

"Yep, no one can pretend to be you but me" I state and she smiles.

"We used to do that all the time as kids, switch places" she chuckles.

"Drove mum nuts" I laugh. "Though I wonder why she hasn't pretended to be me?" I wonder.

"Maybe because you have a baby and I'm with Stefan" Elena offers.

"Both good points" I agree.

"How do you know she's not still out there pretending to be you?" Bonnie asks Elena.

"I don't but I could sit here and be tortured by the not-knowing or I could get these prizes to the ring toss" Elena states.Gesturing to the stuffed toys.

"Have either of you talked to Damon since he killed Jeremy or tried to kill Jeremy?" Bonnie asks.

"I have nothing to say to him" I state.

"No Bonnie, I haven't and I won't and I don't want to talk about Damon or anything else that's vampire related okay?" Elena asks. Handing her a bag of stuffed toys. "I'm human. And I have to do human stuff. Otherwise, I'm going to go crazy" she states.

"Like a true Gilbert" I tease and she shoves me playfully.

"Okay, I'm sorry, I'll focus. We have to make Caroline proud or she will kill us. I don't know how she does all of this" Bonnie tells us.

"Well because she's not human, obviously" Elena and I state.

"Obviously" Bonnie agrees and we all laugh.

"We'll get these to the ring toss, you go find someone else to boss around" I tease Elena.

"I'm gonna see if Jeremy has finished his task" Elena states. We said goodbye. Bonnie and I start to take the prizes to the ring toss.

"You didn't tell her" I say.

"I didn't want to ruin your relationship" she states.

"Thank you, I don't know what I would do without Elena or Jeremy" I tell her.

"How are you doing with everything?" she asks me.

"Honestly, the only thing keeping me from going crazy is Grayson" I tell her.

"Where is my god son?" she asks with a smile.

"With his dad, Matt said he'd drop him off here later. After seeing Caroline" I state.

"You're doing a great job you know, raising Grayson" she states.

"Thanks, it hasn't been easy. But I love him" I tell her.

"I noticed you and Tyler seem closer" she adds.

"We're friends, or were before we dated and broke up" I state. "It's nice to have him as a friend again and he needs one. So do I" I add.

"So there's no chance of you two getting back together?" she asks.

"I don't know, he seems to have better control of his temper. But he made out with Matt's mum before she left and used to date Vicki. Wouldn't it be weird if he and I dated again? With me being the mother of Matt's son?" I ask.

"We won't know unless you try" she states. I just shake my head and we finish setting up the prizes for the ring toss. "I'm gonna go see what else needs doing" she tells me and leaves. My phone rings and I answer it leaning against the booth.

"Mira, hey" Tyler says.

"Were you're ears burning?" I ask him.

"Why? Talking about me?" he asks teasingly and I giggle.

"Your name may of come up in my conversation with Bonnie" I state.

"Well we're friends again" he states.

"Yep and it's nice" I state.

"Speaking of friends, how would you like to cheer a friend on tonight at the arm wrestling booth?" he asks me.

"Don't know, do he have a chance of winning? I'm not friends with weaklings" I ask teasingly.

"Oh you're going to regret that Mimi" he tells me chuckles. Using his old nickname foe me. "I will win every challenge tonight, you'll see" he states.

"Want to make a bet?" I ask him.

"Sure, when I win you have to go on one ride with me tonight" he states.

"Ok, and if you lose. You have to win me a prize from the ring toss" I tell him.

"Deal" he says. "See you tonight" he tells me and I said goodbye hanging up. I have a soft smile on my face.

"That Tyler?" Matt asks startling me. I turn to see him with Grayson. Who makes grabby hands at me. I smile taking him from Matt.

"Yes, we just made a friendly bet" I tell him. "How's Caroline?" I ask him.

"Stressing about the carnival" he states and frowns. "She acted really weird" he adds.

"Weird how?" I ask him.

"Well she hasn't been eating and she run into the corner when I opened the curtains. Ordering me to shut them" he explains and I frown. That doesn't sound like Caroline, she loves the sun. "I'm probably worrying about nothing" he assures me.

"She is your girlfriend and was in a serious accident, it's ok to worry" I assure him. He smiles. "You coming tonight?" I ask him. He nods his head. "See you there then" I state and we go our separate ways.

(Time skip)

So the carnival is going great, I left Grayson as home with Aunt Jenna. Wanting to be a teenager tonight. I find Tyler at the arm wrestling booth, and he smiles when he sees me. He wins the match and I clap with the others. His uncle appears and challenges him. Mason wins and I give Tyler a smirk as he sighs in defeat. Then smiles.

"Okay, he's the champ, who wants to go next?" Tyler asks.

"Stefan wants a go" Damon says and I notice he is here with Stefan.

"Yeah, sure, I'll...give it a shot" Stefan says. He goes to sit opposite Mason. As Tyler comes to my side.

"Guess I owe you that prize now" he states.

"Yup" I say with a smile. We watch Mason and Stefan wrestle. Mason wins, which is a surprised. How could a human beat a vampire? Unless Stefan wasn't putting any effort into it. Tyler and I leave as Mason gets a new challenger.

"So where's Grayson tonight?" he asks me.

"Jenna volunteered to baby sit, giving me the night off mum duty" I tell him.

"You're really good at it" he tells me. "Being a mum and Matt is a great dad" he states.

"He is" I agree. "Have you two patched things up yet?" I ask him.

"Not a hundred percent, but things are getting better" he states.

"That's good to here, I told you you guys would figure it out" I state.

"You did" he says with a smile. We arrive at the ring toss. He pays and plays. He wins. "What do you want Mimi?" he asks. I look at the prizes and point at the black wolf plushie. The booth man gives it to Tyler. Who gives it to me.

"Thank you" I say as I hug it.

"Still like wolves I see" he says with a smile as we set off.

"Yep, they are so beautiful and majestic" I state. I get a text from Matt, apparently Caroline was released and is still acting weird. I sent him one back, asking if he wanted to hang out with Tyler and I. He sent one back saying he'd just go home and speak to Care tomorrow.

"Everything ok?" Tyler asks me.

"Yeah, Care got released" I tell him with a smile.

"That's great, I'm glad she's ok" he states looking relieved.

"It was an accindet Tyler, no one blames you" I assure him.

"Thanks Mira" he says with a smile. "You want to do anything else?" he asks.

"Not really, I'm sort of missing Grayson" I tell him sheepishly. He chuckles.

"Did you drive?" he asks.

"Yeah" I say.

"I'll walk you to your car" he states. I smile and we set off for the car park. "It was nice tonight, us hanging out as friends. Like old times before we dated and I fucked everything up" he states.

"Yeah, it was nice" I agree. "I missed having you as a friend, but no more picking fights with my brother ok?" I ask nudging him.

"Yeah sure" he agrees and I smile. We have reached the car park. A young man is walking in the opposite direction to us and intentionally bumps Tyler with his shoulder as he passes. "Watch, where you're going" Tyler snaps.

"Tyler, chill" I say calmly.

"You got a problem?" the guy asks Tyler.

"Yeah, you walked into me" Tyler states.

"Tyler, just walk away" I plead.

"What are you going to do about it?" the guy asks coming to stop in front of us.

"You're kidding right?" Tyler asks him. The guy pushes him and he bumps into me. "You better back off" he warns him. I step away from them as the man pushes Tyler again.  "You hit me again, I swear to god..." he says. Carter punches him in the face.

"Tyler!" I shout and go to help. As they start to fight. But I get an elbow to the face and sprawled across the pavement. Grazing my arm. "Ow!" I cry as it stings. Suddenly Mason arrive pushing the guy away from Tyler. Who rushes over to me.

"Mira, you ok?" he asks concerned.

"It stings" I tell him and he becomes angry. He glares at the guy.

"You hurt her" he growls and goes to attack the guy. But I hold his arm.

"Don't leave me" I plead as Mason struggles with the man. Who punches him in the face twice and pushes him against a car. Mason somersaults back over the car, jumps over Carter and crouches on landing. His eyes are glowing yellow. Tyler and I see his eyes.

"Your eyes" Tyler says. Mason hits the guy; who falls on the floor. He helps Tyler and I to our feet. And we leave the scene.

"You two ok?" Mason asks us.

"Mira is hurt" Tyler grumbles.

"How bad is it?" Mason asks me.

"A graze, but it stings like hell" I tell him. "I'm gonna go home and have Jenna help me clean it" I state.

"You sure you're ok to drive?" Tyler asks me concerned.

"I'll be ok" I assure him as we reached my car. "I'll text you later, so you know I got home" I state. He nods and hands me my wolf. "My wolf!" I exclaim taking it. "I must of dropped it, thanks for getting it back" I say to Tyler.

"Take care of yourself and you had better text me" he tells me. I nod my head and hug him. Before thanking Mason and get into my car I drive home.

"Oh my god, Mira! Are you ok?" Jenna asks concerned.

"There was an accident, think you can clean my arm?" I ask she nods her head. We head to the kitchen. She gives me an ice back for my cheek and start to clean my arm. "How was Grayson?" I ask her.

"A little angel" she says with a smile. "Already in bed" she states. I nod and smile. "So what happened?" she asks.

"Some drunk idiot picked a fight with Tyler and I tried to break them up" I state.

"Of course you did" she mutters. "There all clean" she says once she wrapped it. "Here" she says handing some pain killers. I thanked her and took them.

"I'm gonna check on Grayson, then call it a night" I tell her. She nods and I head upstairs. I smile at my sleeping son before going to my room. I change and then do my teeth in the bathroom. Before calling it a night. Not knowing that Caroline has been turned into a vampire, by Katherine. And that's the reason behind her strange behaviour.
