Chapter 19: Chapter Eighteen

GUN'S POV

Yesterday was a blast with Tay. It was so fun and I'm beyond grateful having a best friend like him. I went to the coffee shop early because I wanted to get some work done. I also miss my New York routine that's why I wanted to sit by the window and just watch the busy street in front of me pass the day.

I was busy with my laptop when some people started gushing over a man who just walked in the coffee shop. It was Off Jumpol, he looked around and when he found me in the corner, he waved and went to the cashier to order a drink for himself. I suddenly remembered to ask him about the urgent thing yesterday.

I waited for him to finish ordering before I call him but he instantly walked towards me when he got his order. Some of his fans are here and some are actually taking photos, I shrugged them off and just smiled at Off.

"What was the urgent thing you we're saying yesterday? Sorry I was out with Tay and we got back a little late." I asked him.

"Are you up for another road trip?" Off asked

"Maybe? Why?" I asked him.

"You wanna accompany me? I'll drive" He told me

I sipped on my coffee and thought about things, I was a little busy with some paper works for the coffee shop and I'm also checking some papers Tay sent for the studio and what everybody doesn't know is that I'm actually writing a script for a short film that I wanted to submit to the local film festival, but who am I kidding? It's a road trip with Off...

"Yeah sure." I said packing up my things.

He instantly smiled and even helped me return the cups and plate I used to my staff.

"Let's convoy while you drive your car home then I could drive from there" Off said

I agreed so he followed me as I drove to my grandma's house.

"P'Gun is there something wrong? You just left two hours ago and you're back already?" Pim asked me when she saw me leaving my car keys near the door where we keep them.

"No, I'm going out with a friend, I might go back late, don't count me for dinner" I said and decided to say goodbye to her again.

I walked outside and knocked on Off's window to tell him I'm ready.

"Uhhmmm Gun... Can you bring extra clothes? At least good for two days?" He asked me and smiled a little.

"What? What for? Are you kidnapping me?" I asked him.

"It'll be fun and worth the time I promise" He told me

I was hesitant but I decided to walk back inside the house to get some stuff for myself. I didn't know where were going so I brought casual clothes that are presentable, he's still a famous personality, I have to at least look good if I'm gonna be going with him. I also grabbed some money and my laptop so that if he'll be doing some stuff, I'll be able to work on my own stuff.

"I thought you already left?" Pim asked me again when she saw me inside my bedroom packing some stuff.

"Yeah, my friend told me to bring stuff" I said

"Who are you going with?" Pim said peaking at the window.

"I won't be home for a day or two, I'll tell grandma when I go down" I told Pim

"Off Jumpol?" she asked still looking at the window

"OMG P'GUN ARE YOU DATING?" she asked when I didn't answer

"No. What made you think that?" I asked

"You two seem closer than friends. Plus, his fans actually believes that you two are dating" Pim said and laughed

I peaked at the window Off is already outside his car but he's still busy with his phone.

"Don't be a delusional Pim, we're just close friends. He just asked for my help today" I told her

Pim didn't give the topic up until I was done packing. I carried my duffel bag and small backpack and left Pim inside my room but she followed me and continued teasing me. I saw grandma watching her favorite noon time series in the living room so I decided to go there.

"Grandma, I'll be gone for a day or two, I'm accompanying a friend, he needs help." I told her

"He's going on a date escapade" Pim said seating beside grandma.

"It's not a date Pim omg" I said and rolled my eyes at her.

"Stop bothering your Phi, take care okay Gun?" Grandma told me

I left after giving Pim some reminders about helping out in the house and to drop by the coffee shop when she has time.

"I thought you're gonna bring your whole house or you already hid inside from me" Off said when I walked outside.

"I had to deal with Pim and I asked permission from grandma. Where are we going?" I asked him again hoping this time he'd answer.

"It's gonna be fun" He said and smirked.

"Make sure I'd have fun, if I don't you're gonna owe me big time" I told him

We got into the car and since it was just around eleven o'clock, he bought some food at the drive thru so that we could eat while "on our way" to our destination.

"Gun play some songs" he told me when I was busy eating some chicken poppers beside him.

"Okay" I said taking my phone out and connecting to the bluetooth of his car.

"You like LANY huh?" He said when I played the first song.

"I love them, not just like" I said

"Get you under pink skies, I know exactly where we should go" Off sang which made me smile

"Talkin' under pink skies, I think our hearts are starting to show, that it's better, you and I, under pink skies" I was shocked when we sang those lines together.

I often enjoy the view when I'm on a road trip but today, even if I don't know where I'm headed, I was definitely enjoying already.

Tay Tawan

Gun? I thought you're here in your coffee shop?

Are you on a different coffee shop?

Where are you?

I have to meet New, where are we meeting?

Third wheel for me and New instead.

Where TF are you?

I'm with Off sorry. Resched.

Wow. Where are you dating Off today?

Idk tbh, he sort of kidnapped me from my coffee shop.

He asked me to bring clothes.

We're on a roadtrip atm.

I laughed at Tay's message and just shrugged it off and continued jamming along with LANY songs with Off.

"I think I know where we're going" I said when we stopped at a gas station.

"Really huh?" Off asked me back

"Pattaya?" I asked when the route was familiar to me.

"Maybe" Off said

I didn't pushed asking him because he seems like he doesn't have any plans to tell me where we're really going. I was busy with my phone when we arrived at Pattaya proper. I was looking around and sort of excited.

"Are we going to the beach?" I asked him like a kid looking at the window.

"You love beaches?" He asked me in return again.

"Yeah... I rarely get the chance to go" I said

"Well, you're gonna enjoy this trip then" He said.

We went into the small street that leads to a house without neighbors and all and he stopped right there.

"Is this yours?" I asked looking at the house that's painted white and has a very homey vibe.

"It's my family's" He said and turned the engine off.

We took our stuff out and there was a lady who came out of the house, she greeted Off and when I got closer to them I learned that she's the caretaker of the house.

"Gun, this is P'Reen, our caretaker she'd also take care of our food for two days" Off introduced me to her.

I greeted her and we talked a little when we decided to go inside. It was a beach house, the living room has a huge glass window and sliding doors leading to the beach at the backyard. It was very beautiful and I was already enjoying.

"Gun? Let's go put your stuff in your room for two days" Off smiled and he grabbed my duffel bag.

"Off you didn't tell me we're swimming, I don't have swimming clothes" I told him.

"Don't worry, I already know that, here I bought it for you" He handed me a paper bag and when I opened it there was swimming trunks and rash guard inside.

"I can pay you" I told him.

"No, it's a payment like for the time you're gonna be giving me, I know you're busy" He said

He left me in the room to rest and to take my time fixing my stuff. I wanted to nap but there's a strong urge to go around, I went outside to wander around, the house isn't too big but just enough for a family. They also have a medium size private pool at their backyard...

I walked at the shore while constantly taking photos and some videos. This is the first time I went back to the beach ever since I got back here in Thailand. It was kind of hot since it was just around three in the afternoon so I went back inside to get some shade.

I fell asleep without me knowing and I woke to Off's voice.

"Gun... Hey Gun" He said as he slightly tapped my shoulder

"Yes? Omg I fell asleep, what time is it?" I asked him still partially asleep.

"Come on, it's already five, it's almost time for the sunset" He said trying to pull me up from the bed.

I squinted my eyes a few more times and I decided to follow him, I thought we were just gonna go to the shore and watch but instead he led me to a spiral staircase beside the pool that I haven't seen a while ago. It led us to a balcony just above the pool, I was in awe when I saw the view, the whole spread of the beach was visible, the sun was glowing red and orange as it reflected in the sky with ombre hues of pink.

"Wow" I said in amazement and I pulled my phone and polaroid camera out to take photos.

"Yeah, wow" Off said.

"Why did you bring me here Off?" I asked as I looked over to him.

"I just don't want to be alone" He said

It meant so much more than what he said but I was left dumbfounded when I stared at him, the sunset reflecting on his eyes... it was perfect... right now is perfect...

"I might melt Gun" He said and laughed

I got shy so I continued taking pictures instead and then I pretended I was busy. I noticed he brought a speaker with him, he then connected his phone and started playing some music...

"OMG LANY!" I said when I heard the song's introduction...

I sang while the music was playing... I was looking at him as well.

"Gun, let's take some photos" He said.

I agreed to take photos with the sunset as our background. We took a little too much and laughed about all the silly faces we made.

"Hey, what's your twitter?" Off asked

I was hesitant at first, my twitter is a mess of my thoughts but I have two accounts anyway...

"@ gunatp" I said spelling it out for him

I got a notification on my phone saying that he's following me. I opened it and followed him back. What shocked me is that he posted a photo of me and him with the sunset background...

His fans went crazy about it, they actually shipped us a lot more, I was hiding my smile when I looked over to Off who's also busy reading the comments of his fans...

"OffGun huh?" He said and looked at me.

"Your fans are crazy haha" I said and tried to act cool even when I was already loosing it deep inside.

"Tay commented, he said he's your only best friend haha" He said and started laughing.

We stayed there for a while reading and laughing at the fan comments, I made my account private and we even interacted with a few his fans. It was fun actually talking to them, some also tagged me their photos from my coffee shop.

"Sir Off, the food is ready" P'Geen said.

"Okay, we'll go down in a few. Thank You Phi" Off responded to her.

We went down for dinner and it was the best, fresh seafood was prepared for us and it was a feast but me and Off managed to finish almost all of it. It was sooo good that we were too lazy to get after.

"I know I am slipping to food coma but I have something else to show you" He said as he stood up.

He flipped on a switch on the wall and lights lit up outside the beach backyard. It glowed soft yellow which lit up a path going to the beach.

"Come on Gun" He said as he headed outside.

I followed him until we reach a huge tree, it has a tree house...

"This is my house hehe" He said and climbed

I was left down there staring at him as he reached the top.

"Come on" He said signaling me to go follow him up there.

I climbed up and it was the same view as the balcony only this was closer to the beach and there were a bunch of bean bags and fairy lights in his tree house. We sat looking at the beach again, it was dark but the crashing sounds of the waves made it very relaxing.

"Look up" He said

I followed and I was dumbfounded again, the moon was shining so bright and the stars filled the skies.

"This is sooo good" I said

"What are the things on your bucket list Gun?" He asked out of nowhere.

"Random huh, okay... I wanted to go to Europe tour around... I wanted to have my own beach house... I wanted to go to New York, which is already done... I wanted to meet LANY... I want to become a hollywood director, I want to go to the moon" I said

"You can check out all of that, you always find a way to get what you want" He told me.

"Go to the moon?" I asked him.

"Well, if you become rich enough, buy a spaceship" He said then giggled

"Hahaha, that'll be a long time from now" I said

We were silent for a few minutes when I decided to talk to him again.

"You brought me here to not have a vacation alone?" I asked him.

"Yeah... I wanted to think and have fun for a while, but I never brought anyone here... I wanted to be with you because you've been the only one I hung out with lately, and I wanted us to be closer, give our friendship another try despite the past" He said and smiled

"I'm really sorry for being shitty back then" I said when I realized again the things I have done.

"I already forgot about that. That doesn't matter anymore." He told me.

We went back to the beach house when it started getting cold. He prepared some movies to watch so we stayed at the living room for a while and we let P'Geen rest already.

"Do you watch anime?" Off asked me as he plugged his hard drive in the TV

"Not really" I told him

"Well, let me introduce you to anime" He said

I was looking at the TV and he clicked on a movie named 'Your Name. I was curious so I decided to give it a try. The visuals are so good that I liked it immediately.

The movie finished and Off was sort of in tears.

"Why aren't you crying, are you a rock?" He said as he wiped the a few tears.

"It was sooo good I just don't want to cry, you've seen me cry a lot already" I said and handed him tissue.

"Crybaby, I liked it" I said when he was finally okay again.

"Don't tell anyone I cried about that. It's between you and me" He told me.

"Okay crybaby" I said and laughed

"Guuuun!" He said and we laughed about it.
