Chapter 18: Chapter Seventeen

GUN'S POV

It has been busy days since I opened my coffee shop and I haven't really had the time to meet up with my friends. Tay has a free day today and he asked me to come with him and just hang out like we used to. I agreed since I wanted to have some rest day for myself as well.

I have no idea what we're gonna do today or where we'll be going but Tay said it will be a complete rest but he also told me to have enough energy for today, I mean, I wish he didn't plan a whole physical activity? I haven't been exercising for a while.

"Where are we going?" I asked when he arrived at my house. I am driving because Tay doesn't know how to drive and he often ride their family car or he commutes.

"A surprise" he said as he smirked and smiled at me.

"Tay I have to know where we're going, I'm driving, remember?" I told him and sort of rolled my eyes at his poor attempt to have surprises.

"I'll give the directions when we're on the way but let's buy snacks first" He said.

I drove to the near convenience store so that we could pick up some snacks, I was surprised when Tay grabbed a basket, does this crazy man plan to go grocery shopping?

"Do you plan to get snacks or go grocery shopping?" I asked Tay

"I plan both... Just kidding, just snacks" he said and left me and started getting his snacks.

I decided to pick up my favorite chips which is doritos, me and tay never agreed on snacks even though we're best friends, he likes things different than mine. I next grabbed some gummies and a chocolate bar before I decided to look for a drink.

"Put those here in the basket, don't get coffee" Tay told me

He knows me so well, he knows that I will be getting another coffee drink because that's me. I always get something coffee, that's why I got inspired to actually make my own coffee shop

"Is the banana milk okay mom?" I asked  him and teased him at the same time since he looks after me like I am his child.

"Haha Guuun!" He told me.

We payed for the things we got and we're finally back on the road, he was leading me out of Bangkok which got me confused on where we're really going.

"Tay I am not up for a roadtrip outside Bangkok, where are we going?" I asked again

"Not outside, there turn left" He told me.

We arrived at this restaurant that has two floors, the first floor is for the regular dining guest and the second floor has private access to those with reservation, I wasn't surprised when Tay has reservations and we have our "booth" upstairs.

The staff led us upstairs and Tay carried the bag of snacks that we bought earlier. We were led to the open deck upstairs which has bean bag set-ups and a screen with some fairy lights and a few more designs for the booths.

"What is this?" I asked Tay

"I never gave you a congratulations gift Gun" He said

"This is too much" I told hi

"Gun, I'm your best friend. I've seen everything you've been through, this is a congrats of everything. Plus, you needed this break. Look at the city view, I know you love it, just think of it as New York, your happy place, on with the best person in your life as well." He said

It got me a little teary eyed when he said that. Even though I had troubles with my family and my ex back then, Tay Tawan, my best friend is the only person I do not regret meeting. He has been my happy pill.

"Tay, you're making me cry, I hate you" I jokingly said.

"Oh, don't cry on me now, come on let's watch the movies I've rented, it's all of our favorite movies, I've rented three movies so that it would be enough for until dinner" He told me.

It's just 2PM when we arrived there and it was actually fun that it wasn't that hot and all. We enjoyed the movies, this is how we watch movies, we laugh and tease each other about it and often give opinion about the scenarios, we love watching together since others would prefer to watch silently and that is just not us.

"Gun slow down munching on the snacks, we just finished one movie" Tay said when I was already done with one bag of chips I bought earlier.

"You know me, once I get my hands on snacks I eat until they are all gone. My bad habits" I told him and shrugged.

"How are you and New?" I asked when I finally got tired watching.

"We're kind of getting a hang of it. We've been fighting over the smallest things, but mostly it's my fault, my clumsy ass" He said and laughed.

"You're giving New a very hard time. Tsktsk." I told him

"He loves me" He told me and even stuck his tongue out and laughed.

"I'm so happy for you" I told him and smiled

"I want you to be happy too that is why I'll be your boyfriend until you finally accept your feelings for Off" He told me

"Taaaay!!!! There's no feelings for him" I lied.

"Keep denying Gun, your actions answers every question I have" He told me in his teasing tone.

Who am I kidding? He's my best friend. I could never hide anything from him for too long, he'd eventually find answers to his questions.

"I might have... liked him?" I said

"LikeD?" He said giving emphasis on the d

"I don't know okay? I like him I guess" I said and looked away feeling a little shy.

"Oh look at this kid. You're no longer a kid to have crushes Gun, tell him already" He told me

"It's not that easy, plus we're really good friends" I told him

"Yeah, plus we don't know the story of his exes yet, he might hurt you but still, sooner or later, you'd slowly fall I know you, save yourself from a possible heartbreak when all of it gets to much will you?" He told me

"Yeah..." I said munching more

We continued watching after that but my thoughts didn't paid attention to the movie but instead wandered to thoughts about Off... It is a familiar feeling I have for him, but also strange that it feels different. I'm still confused if I like him because I do like him or I just like him in my life because he makes me feel safe and he has been a good friend.

"Tay when did you know you're falling for New?" I asked him as the sun was setting from our view.

"It was my worst day when I knew it, you remember that breakdown I had before you got home? When I called you that I was a total mess. I loved talking to you but truth be told, it was him who made me realize that it was just another bad day" He told me.

"When did you started catching feelings for Off?" He asked me when I was silently watching the sunset

"College days" I said silently.

It was a long moment of silence before Tay found the words to say again.

"I get it all now... you acted that way towards Oab back then because you wanted to push him away not just because of how messed up you are, because you are already falling for someone else" He said like he solved a very hard math problem.

"Why bring up Oab?" I asked him.

"It confused me, you loved him so much for 3 years, you turned a blind eye on every mistake and toxicity he has and then all of a sudden push him to his limits and leave him like that" He told me

"I loved him Tay, that may have blinded me but yeah... I fell out of love for him, and I did it in a terrible way" I told him

"We're just human Gun, we all make mistakes, and hurting you back will be his biggest mistake when he tries to come closer you again" He said assuring me he's ready to fight any time.

We finished dinner at that booth and the view of the city lights were absolutely stunning. It made me miss New York.

"This is what New York feels like?" Tay asked.

"The vibes give it a little, since it's literally the city that never sleeps but it's colder, it screams freedom at the same time loneliness because it never stops for anyone." I told him

"I'd love a vacation to New York after one big project at the studio" Tay said

"I'd love to show you around New York" I told him.

"I bet nobody is beating Gun Atthaphan's best movie buddy now? I've beat them all didn't I?" He asked

"Not all of them... you fall under number 2..." I teased him

"Who is number one?" He asked me with a sulking face.

"Off really entertained me with 8 harry potter movies complete with snacks and props" I told him

"When was that?" He asked suddenly so interested and no longer sulking.

"Remember that day when you caught us in the supermarket?" I asked Tay and smiled

"You? Slept over?" He asked giving me a teasing grin

"I did, we finished all the harry potter movies, he's such a geek for movies and books" I said

"No wonder you fell for him, typical type of Gun Atthaphan" He said

I laughed at what he said, I'm not gonna deny that, he's not mistaken though, it's cute for me when guys are into books and movies, something we could share in common, we could have movie dates or we could go to book fairs together, share our theories about the stories that touches our hearts. It would be so nice having someone to share those kinds of moments.

"Did  you know the fans are looking for you? They are on a search for your twitter account" Tay told me.

"I know. A lot of them found me on Instagram. I should thank Off for the free endorsement, the manager on my shop told me a lot of fans came to try it and some actually are regular customers and they made it a study space already" I told him.

"You should also tell him your feelings" Tay teased me

"I'm not driving you home" I joked and laughed at him

"I can't tell though, based on the photos you actually look really good together but then I also don't know Off that much yet so it's up to you" Tay told me.

"Lol I told you I don't even know if I have the slightest chance" I told him.

It was a fun day with Tay, I am just really grateful to have a best friend like him, not everybody finds someone they instantly click with and become the best partner in crime or that human diary everyone actually needs.

I drove him home and I decided to drop by my coffee shop, it was kind of late but we're open 24/7 and some customers are actually still here, some are just hanging out, some are busy with work and all.

"Sir Gun, a man dropped by earlier looking for you" The manager of my shop told me.

"Who?" I asked her as I was preparing myself a small cup of tea.

"Off Jumpol came, he said it was urgent matter and that he'd be waiting for a text from you" She said.

I was confused with what Off needed, I just nodded and decided to give Off a text.

I just got back, I know it's late but what is it you needed?

I left that message for him and decided to head home as well. Off didn't replied so I decided to just message him again tomorrow, he must've fallen asleep already besides it's also past midnight already. I decided to check on my social medias and I haven't really followed Off on twitter because I couldn't risk hinting to his fans.

I was curious with Off's tweet, does it have something to do with his urgent matter? It sort of bothered me but it also warmed my heart by how many people loves him.
