Special Chapter: Here We Go Again

Loving The Bad Boy

Emma

"Amy! Can you stop pulling at my hair?" I pleaded as I squirmed around in my seat.

"Sorry, sorry. I'm just trying to style it." Amy apologized, still trying to brush my hair. "It's not my fault you have a bird nest for hair."

I smacked her leg playfully causing her to laugh.

"Oh, you love me and my bird nest hair." I told her, which caused her to roll her eyes.

"Are you excited for tonight?" Amy asked as she parted my hair, taking it in sections and curling it.

"Excited and nervous." I answered. "We've been planning this for weeks now, I just hope he likes it."

"I'm sure he will. No doubt." She said. "Plus if he doesn't, we can just kick his ass for being ungrateful."

"Amy." I warned. "Behave."

"What? I'm always well behaved." She retorted.

"Really?" I questioned. "What about that one time Matt-"

"We do not speak about that." She announced cutting me off mid-sentence causing me to give her a 'told you so' look.

One time Matt decided it would be fun to prank Amy and since she was the one to start the prank war against the two of them, he thought it was only fair to get her back. So Matt decided to pull a classic and simple prank. Matt really likes Amy, so he didn't want to do anything too crazy. While Amy was sleeping, he decided to put shaving cream in her hand and brush a feather along her forehead just to make her smack herself.

Well, it worked. Only problem is that Matt mixed up the shaving cream with hair removal cream. Don't ask me how he mixed it up, Matt doesn't even know how he mixed it up. But it happened. Long story, short, Amy lost her left eyebrow.

She was so furious when she saw what happened. She literally chased Matt around the neighborhood with the first thing she could get a hold of which happen to be the bottle of hair removal cream. Matt had to hide for days, until Amy cooled off.

Amy's eyebrow grew back, she forgave Matt. But it's still a sore subject for her. Funny as hell to the rest of us.

"Whatever." Amy said rolling her eyes to me, curling the last piece of my hair. "Done."

She spun the chair around to reveal the look she created and I was in awed. As I am every time Amy does something like this.

She had parted my hair to the side, adding volume, she curled it and had ran a comb through the curls to give it a wave look. Amy had done my make up in a natural way, but added a bit of eyeshadow to make my green eyes stand out. My lips painted in a light pink lipstick completing the whole look.

"See, you can clean up nicely when you try." Amy said complimenting me and taking a jab at the same time.

I rolled my eyes at her and stood up from the seat I was sitting in. "What are you wearing tonight?"

"Clothes." She said in a 'duh' tone.

Annoyed, I took the brush off my dresser and tossed it at her which she dodged. "Sarcasm on you is not pretty."

"You're right. Its beautiful." This is my best friend, everyone. "I don't know. Something simple, I guess. We still have to help set up and it's not formal."

"True." I told her as I raked through my closet. I pulled out a black floral off the shoulder top that has flowing sleeves. It was perfect for the warm night. "This and a pair of jeans, yes or no?"

Amy gave me a thumbs up and looked down at her phone. "Its almost five. We need to get dress and head over there to help set up."

Once dressed, we decided to take Amy's car to our destination. Minutes later we pulled up to Aiden's grand house. "I will never get over how big this house is." Amy said parking her car.

"Me too." I agreed. "Remember that one time we got lost in it for the whole day?"

Amy laughed as the memories came back to her. "We walked around in circles for hours until Aiden came looking for us. Thank God he came. We would have probably still be trying to find our way out."

Locking the car, Amy and I walked to the huge wooden front door of the house only to see it cracked open. I turned to Amy with an arched eyebrow which she just shrugged her shoulders. I opened the door and walked in.

"Matt!" I heard a familiar deep voice yell. "Do not make me throw your lazy ass in the pool."

"Only if you were fast enough to catch me!" Matt yelled from a distance. Next thing I know, I see Matt sprinting across the foyer at full speed. He turned to the side and saw us. "Hi, girls! Bye, girls!" Then he was off again.

"You asshole! Stop running!" I heard the deep voice said getting closer. Soon Aiden was sprinting in after Matt. I grabbed the collar of his shirt to stop him from getting any closer. "Whoa! What the-" Then Aiden looked over and saw me. "Oh, Hi sweetheart." He said smiling and give me a kiss on the cheek. " When did you get here?"

"Just as you were about to kill Matt." I told him. "No murdering our friends."

"Yeah, yeah." He said dismissively and gave me a once over. "You look beautiful, by the way."

"Why, thank you." I said with a smile. I could feel my cheeks warm up slightly from his compliment. I don't think I could ever get use to his compliments. I gave Aiden a once over. He was dressed in a navy blue dress shirt that was rolled up to elbows with two buttons undone at the top and a pair of black jeans. His dark hair was styled upward, still slightly messy. In a way it was perfect. "You don't look so bad yourself" I told him, which cause a smirk to land on his lips.

Aiden leaned in for a kiss, only to be interrupted. "Alright, lovebirds. We have work to do!" Amy said grabbing my arm and dragging me away.

"Seriously?" I asked her as we entered the backyard.

"What?" She asked. "You guys can suck face later. Now we have to prep the place."

"Well, I think our job is done for us." I said pointing behind her.

Amy turned around. "Whoa."

I nodded.  "Whoa, is right."

The backyard was decorated with strings of white fairy lights, each string wrapped around the the large oak trees and its branches. There were round tables around the pool area draped in white table cloths. Each table having different size cream colored candles and additional white fairy lights wrapped around the perimeter of the tables. There were two long tables, one filled with snacks and drinks and another with a large sheet cake on it. There was a gold banner behind the table with the cakes saying 'Happy Birthday!"

"Not bad, huh?" I heard a deep voice whisper in my ear causing a shiver to run down my back. Turning around, I saw Aiden by my side.

"You guys did all of this?" I asked in awed.

"Technically, I did most of the work." Aiden said.

"Hey!" I heard Matt say walking into the backyard with the rest of us. "Give credit where credit is due."

"Well, which ever one of you did it, did a great job." I told them and Amy nodded in agreement.

"Does anyone know when he is coming?" Amy asked.

Matt shook is head and spoke. "Mia said that she will text us when they're almost here."

"Alright, let's get ready to greet some guests!" I told them just as the doorbell rung.

Thirty minutes later and many friends and family arriving already. Even all of our parents came too. The place was getting packed already, I'm glad that everyone came to celebrate our friend's birthday.

I was talking to some of our guest, when I felt my phone vibrate. I look down to see a message from Mia that was sent to our group chat. It said that they were less than five minutes away.

"Alright. guys! The birthday boy is almost here!" I announced. "So let's take our places!" I went to stand by Aiden as everyone gathered around the entrance.

Aiden wrapped an arm around my waist. "I hope he like this." I told him.

"I'm sure he will." Aiden said. "He has never had anything like this before."

I was about to respond when I heard footsteps. Everyone was silent, not even one noise was heard. Not even from Tyler who was near my parents.

The front door opened.

"Surprise!" Everyone yelled.

Standing in front of us was an awkward Nick. "Sorry guys, wrong person."

"Nick, if you don't get your ass out of the way." Amy warned.

Just before Nick could respond, we heard footsteps and voices. Nick ran over to the side where Amy was at lightening speed.

We better get it right this time.

The front door opened once more.

"Surprise!" Everyone yelled again.

In front of us stood a stunned Derek and a grinning Mia. "What the-" That was the look I was going for. Guests started to greet Derek, telling him happy birthday.

"Happy Birthday!" I told him pulling him into a tight hug when I finally was able to see him.

"This was your doing, wasn't it?" Derek asked once pulling away from our hug.

"Everyone came together and decided to make this birthday one to remember." I told him. "Do you like it?" I asked nervously.

"I've never had a birthday party before. So yeah, I like it. Thank you." Derek said with a bright smile on his face.

All the stress I felt that he wouldn't like it dissipate as soon as I saw his smile. "Great! Now, let's go enjoy your party." I took his hand and dragged him to the backyard where everyone was.

As the party carried on, I saw Mia and went to talk to her. "Hey Mia." I greeted her.

"Hey Emma." She said with a smile.

"I know we gave you the impossible task of getting Derek here. How where you able to get him here?" I asked curiously.

"You know Derek, he's stubborn and hard headed." She said. "So, I basically shoved him in the car and drove off ." She took a sip of her drink.

I laughed. "So you basically kidnapped him?"

"I mean, if you want to put terms to it. Basically I did."  She said with a smile. We chatted for some more until it was time for the light the birthday cake.

"Come on!" I told Derek literally pushing him in front of the table.

"Emma, I don't wanna." He said pouting and trying to get away.

"Nope, you have too! It's your birthday!" I told him pushing him forward towards the table.

"Come on, man." Aiden said pushing him too. "Less than one minute. All you have to do is blow out the candles.

"Fine." Derek said now standing in front of the table. "Less than a minute." Derek hates being the center of attention.

Aiden and I high five each other for actually getting him in front the the table.

Everyone gathered around the table and started to sing happy birthday. Derek obviously was awkward through the whole song, which made us as his friends laugh. He glared at us when he heard our laughter.

Once the song was done, Matt lit the candles on the cake.

"Make a wish." I mouthed to him.

He nodded and took a moment to make his wish. Once done he leaned down and blew out the candles.

I didn't notice when Matt and Aiden went behind Derek, but they did. As soon as Derek blew out the candles they pushed his head into the cake. "Happy Birthday!" They yelled.

Derek stood up with frosting and cake all over his face which caused everyone, including myself to laugh.

"Oh, you guys are dead." He said in a deadly tone. Matt and Aiden took off in the other direction with Derek chasing after them.

Here we go again.
