Chapter 31-This is Not the End: Pt 2
Loving The Bad Boy
Chapter 31-This is Not the End: Pt 2
-Amy-
"Nick! Get up you lazy ass!" I yelled as I charged into Nick's dark room. I flopped on top of his back getting a groan of frustration from him. "Get up, get up, get up." I repeated numerous times as I smacked him in the head with his own pillow.
"Amy, shut the hell up and get out." Nick growled out as he rolled over causing me to fall off his back and onto the floor.
"Nick, I'm actually being a nice sweet sister and waking you up for your eight o'clock class that starts in fifteen minutes!" I exclaimed standing up from the floor.
Nick's head popped up at the sound of that and looked at the time. "Shit!" He yelled scrambling out of his bed. "You couldn't wake me up earlier?" He asked grabbing random pieces of clothes from his closet.
I raised an eyebrow at him. "Excuse me, but is it my job to wake you up and make sure you get to your class? No I don't think so, you're a grown ass man in college I might add, so you can wake up yourself and get your ass to school!" I retorted rather loudly.
"Okay, okay. I'm sorry, thanks for waking me up though." He said walking towards his en suit bathroom. "Even though you can be annoying as hell and a bit or a demotic child at times, you're still a good sister." He said grinning as he pinches my cheek.
I slapped his hand away. "Way to wrap an insult and compliment into one." I said rubbing my poor cheek and Nick just chuckled. "Go get ready. You don't have time to waste."
"Yes sir." He said giving me a salute. I rolled my eyes and walked out of his room and down the stairs towards the kitchen to get some breakfast. Two minutes later, Nick was down the stairs and in the kitchen looking refreshed.
"Here" I said tossing him a granola bar. Nick caught it and stuffed it into his backpack. "Oh take this too." I said tossing him a bottle of orange juice.
He caught it and cracked open the cap taking a gulp. "Thanks Ames!" He said after grabbing his car keys and running towards the door. I swear sometimes Nick acts like a ten year old heading to school and I feel like the mother who has to get him ready. I feel too old and I'm only seventeen for gosh sakes!
I grabbed a bowl from the cabinet and filled it with some cereal. I opened the fridge door to get some milk when a light blue cake box caught my eye. I studied the box. It wasn't there last night when I went into the fridge last night. I know my parents didn't buy any cake either. It's probably Nick's, well let's see what kind of cake it is!
I took the box out the fridge and placed it on the counter and opened it. Inside was a really pretty cake, its outer frosting was of a light aqua color. It was designed with white frosting petals cascaded around it. I admired the beautiful cake in front of me. I glance to the side of the box and saw a white card labeled with my name on it. I picked up the card in curiosity. Who would get me such a pretty cake and for what reason? I opened up the card and started to read it.
'Dear Amy,
Such a pretty cake isn't it? I thought you might admire something like that. I don't know much about you, but I know enough. Your favorite color is a light blue, like the ocean. You love the flowers, lilies, just naming a few things. You might not have a huge part in this, but you still have a part. That's why I thought this would be a simple sound way of a warning. Don't get more involved into this then what you are, Amy. You will regret it immensely. Enjoy the cake.
P.S. You should really get that lock in your back door fixed.
-Mark.'
-Matt-
"Matty! Make me pancakes pwease!" Lacy exclaimed while latched onto my leg.
"Lacy, can you please get off my leg?" I asked trying to lift my leg to walk.
"I will, if you say yes." Lacy countered. I raised an eyebrow at her in surprise with her reply. "Pwease Matty?" She asked again this time with puppy dog eyes.
I groaned, this little girl's cuteness will be the death of me. "Fine, I'll make you pancakes." I finally said bending over picking her up in my arms. Lacy leaned in and gave my cheek a small peck which in returned caused me to ruffle her hair.
"Thank you, Matty!" She exclaimed obviously happy that I agreed. I walked to the kitchen with Lacey still in my arms and sat her down on top of the counter top. I grabbed the ingredients to make her favorite, chocolate chip pancakes, and started make the batter. I have to say that I am a pretty awesome big brother. Not to brag or anything but how many big brothers do you know will get up early in the morning to make their little sister pancakes? Not many? That's what I thought.
"What are you doing today?" Lacey asked me as she swung her legs back and forth patiently waiting for her pancakes.
"Well." I said flipping the pancake I had in the frying pan over to cook. "I plan on going to school and learn today."
"I wish I was in school." Lacey said as she continued to kick her legs.
"Lace, enjoy all the free time you have. Because when you do start school you won't have that much time to play with your dolls, go to the park to play or watch Disney movies." I said taking out the last pancake from the pan and placing it on the stack that was on the plate.
Lacey looked up at me with her big warm eyes. "Really, Matty?" She asked as I picked her up from the counter and placed her onto a chair near the table, I also grabbed the plate with the pancakes on them and set it on the table.
"Yes." I said sliding into my chair. "But for now just enjoy your amazing chocolate chip pancakes made by your awesome big brother." I placed a pancake onto her own plate.
"I will!" She exclaimed happily. "You're the best big brother ever!" She said taking a big bite from her pancake and all I could do was smile at the cute bundle of joy in front of me.
After breakfast was done, I took Lacey and put her into her playroom where her nanny was waiting for her. "Bye Matty. Love you!" She said hugging me tightly with her small chubby arms.
"Love you too, Lacey." I said giving her a peck on the cheek. "Be good." She nodded and ran to her many toys in the room. "Take good care of her." I said towards her nanny, Ellen.
"I always have, always will." Ellen said in her deep Middle Eastern accent. I gave her a small grin and walked out of the room and went to grab my backpack with my car keys. I opened up the front door and was about to step out when I saw a white envelope on the 'welcome' mat. I picked it up and saw that it was marked with my name. I closed the front door and started walk towards my car opening the envelope. Inside of it was a note, pulling the note out of the envelope I started to read it.
'Matt,
I think I'll make this short and simple. After all you seem like a simple kind of guy with such a wonderful life. You have the money, the sweet family and a great girlfriend. It would be such a pity if all those things just disappeared, wouldn't it? So to make it easy in the simplest of ways, keep out of my little feud with your friend Aiden, I have a score to settle. Stay away or I will cast a small spell and make your 'wonderful' life disappeared in a instant.
-Mark.'
Derek's POV
"Riley! Come on!" I yelled grabbing my backpack and keys from my room and walked down the stairs.
"Coming!" Riley yelled back running down the stairs pulling on her coat. "Why are you in such a rush?" She asked slipping on her boots.
"I'm in no rush." I said lazily. "I just wanted to get your butt down here quickly so I don't have to wait."
Riley glared at me for a moment and pulled her long brown locks into a ponytail. "Whatever, you have me down here. So can we go get some breakfast?" She asked and I nodded heading towards the kitchen when she grabbed my arm. "Nope, we're going out and having breakfast and you're paying." Riley said grinning at me. I groaned as she dragged me out the house and towards my black car.
Ten minutes later, we were pulling up to a small café close to school. Riley and I walked into cafe and ordered two coffees with bagels as sat down at one of the few empty tables. We ate in silence for a few minutes until Riley broke it. "What's up with mom? I haven't seen her in awhile." She said playing with the rim of her coffee cup.
"Uh, she picked up a few extra shifts at work to help maintain the house." I answered.
"She shouldn't have to work so hard." Riley whispered loud enough for me to hear.
The grip on my cup tightened. "I know." Was all I could bring myself to say.
"I wish we were able to do something, to help." She continued.
"Eventually, we will be able to." I said trying to comfort her. Riley nodded and took a sip from her coffee.
"How are your classes, freshman?" I asked changing the topic as we got up from out seats.
Riley rolled her eyes towards me. "There going well, Mr. Gray is a bore."
"You have Gray?" I asked and she nodded. "Well I feel bad for you." I said patting her shoulder as we walked out of the café.
Riley groan in annoyance. "I know! I feel bad for me too. Why couldn't he be a younger and less, you know, monotone and boring?"
"Ahh, give the man a break. He's old, let him be." I said walking over to the driver's side of my car.
"Could he give us a break from his boringness?" Riley muttered slipping into the car. I just shook my head and chuckled as I mimic her actions. A few minutes later, I pulled the car into a parking spot in the lot. Riley bid me a goodbye and headed towards the main building. I grabbed my backpack and was just about to do the same thing when I noticed a white piece of paper folded multiple times sticking out of the compartment above the driver's seat. I grabbed the paper and opened it up and let my eyes skim over the words written there.
'Derek
I'll just skip all the annoying introductions and get straight to the point. You always seemed like a guy who just wanted to get to the point, no messing around. I know your secrets, the ones you want to keep hidden from the world. The ones that you are afraid to tell a single soul. But they aren't so hidden anymore, not if I know them. These secrets, you are afraid that if known to the world that it will push the people to care about away. It would be a shame if everyone knew them wouldn't it? You have become a part of my world too much, you along with the others know too much and I can't have that. Now I'm giving you an easy way out. Just stay away and we shall be fine, don't interfere with my plans for your friend Aiden and no harm will be done to you. If you choose not to listen, well we all know how that will turn out to be.
-Mark.'
-Emma-
"Aiden, come on. We have to get going. I need to go to my locker." I said pulling away from his embrace.
"Aww, but Emma, I don't want to go in there yet." Aiden said fake pouting. I rolled my eyes but planted a soft kiss on his lips.
"Stop being dramatic and let's go." I said grabbing my bag and stepping out of his car.
"You're so demanding." Aiden said falling into step with me as we walk towards the main building.
"Yes I am. Problem bro?" I asked skipping up the steps.
"Not at all, you look hot when you're demanding and giving orders." Aiden said sending a wink towards me which cause my cheeks to flare up in a blush.
"Shut up." I said smacking his chest. Aiden just chuckled and placed his arm lazily around my shoulders as we walked down the hallway which was scattered with students.
Looking away from Aiden and down the hall, I saw Mia making her way towards us in a rapid pace.
"Hey Mi-" I started to say but she cut me off quickly.
"No time for greetings, Em. We have a huge problem." She said grabbing mine and Aiden's hand and dragged us down the hallway and into an empty classroom that no teachers use. In there was Matt who was seated at one of the desk, Derek who was leaning against the wall and Amy who was pacing back and forth.
I raised an eyebrow at my friends. "What's going on?" I asked.
"Just you and Aiden take a look at these first." Mia said pointing to the teacher's desk that had four different size note cards and papers. Aiden and I walked over to the desk and let our eyes skim over the notes.
My heart dropped to my stomach each time I read the different notes. I glanced over to Aiden who seem to be boiling with rage. "Fucking hell!" Aiden yelled slamming his fist down heavily onto the desk. "Shit, I knew I should have never gotten any of you guys involved in any of this! Damn it."
"Aiden, calm down." I said placing my hand in comfort on his shoulder.
"Mark is just trying to scare us off, so he would only have to deal with you." Derek said. "But what he doesn't know is that it takes a whole lot more than empty threats to get us to back down."
"Dude, like we told you before we would not change our decisions to get involved if we could." Matt added.
"You guys don't understand, getting you involve in this with a guy as dangerous as Mark puts not only you but everything you love at risk." Aiden said in utter calmness.
"Aiden, you didn't throw us in this. We personally made our choices to be involve and these empty threats are just a part of it. We can handle it." Mia said.
"And the best we can do is fight till the end, no matter what the outcome will be." Amy said.
"Because we are with you till the end." I added. "He knows that we won't back down that, it will take a whole lot more to get us running away then these notes. He's testing us, seeing if we will stick together and we will." I added, Aiden's stiff composure relaxed a bit with he heard that. I guess it was comforting to know that he was not alone in this. That he gonna accepted that we were not going to back down.
"So what do we do now?" Mia asked.
"Wait and see what his next move is and that's when we take him down once and for all." Aiden said. "Because it's finally time to stop this ridiculous game. Are you guys with me?" He asked and we all nodded.
This is not the end, just as Mark stated in his card to Mia. This is the beginning of the end.
