Special Chapter
CLASSY MOTHERF*****S.
Calum
I did my best as I could to make it work.
As soon as Tatum got dragged out of the hospital. I knew what to do. I need to help them.
*
"Yeah, sure thanks!..okay bro, okay-okay..I uh-I will. Don't worry." I exclaimed on the phone before hanging up.
Today has been nothing but a disaster.
I took a shower and groomed myself. I even gelled my hair for fucks sake and wore an expensive tuxedo..all just for show.
I walked downstairs and saw people moving furniture here and there for the reception that's going to happen after the wedding.
I shook my head, if only they knew.
I made my way towards the kitchen and took an apple from the fridge.
After taking a big bite my mother came in.
"Oh there's my handsome man! God, you look wonderful! You ready for the big day?" She asks.
"Of course! I'm pretty excited!" I lied.
"Awww-" She gushed taking me in her arms for a hug.
After a few sentimental words that wouldn't even matter. She placed a baby's breath crossage on my Tux's left pocket near my chest.
I hurried my way out before my mother could stop me.
I stepped on the gas and drive quickly as I could. My phone wouldn't stop buzzing. I'm pretty sure that everyone's there in the church right now and my father is throwing a fit knowing that I'm late.
I parked by the nearest lot and into the direction he gave me, soon enough, I was in front of Luke Hemmings' house.
I knocked a couple times before he opened the door.
He had a leg brace on and a crutch on his one hand. He had a trolley behind him and I obliged by helping him.
Once we were settled in the car I felt relief. Looks like the plan is going to work this time.
I reached down the car's drawer and took two plane tickets to Dublin.
"Here" I handed them to Luke which he completely obliged and took. "That's the only place I know that you guys can run. Lisa won't find you there." I assured him.
"Thank you. I would ship you the payment as soon as possible. Please just give me you back account and I will-"
"No its fine. Consider it as a gift. I wanted to help." I cut him off.
He sighed. "I don't know how to repay you, man. You did a lot to help me..and Tatum of course."
I shook my head. "Please, don't worry about it."
Soon enough we reached the church. I told him to wait in the car and he agreed saying that he will just slow us down if he tries to help since he couldn't walk properly at the moment.
I noticed that a woman with jet black hair walk towards the waiting room behind the church.
That must be where Tatum is.
As soon as the woman left I made my way in.
Sure enough I was right about my expectation. As soon as I saw here looking at the ground, eyes full of sorrow. I know that she must feel really sad about us getting married but I couldn't blame her.
I took a grip on her wrist which caught her by surprise before looking up and seeing me.
"Calum? What a-are you d-doing here?" She exclaimed in shock.
"There's no time to explain come on!" I yanked her arm and led her outside the door. I was running and I was almost dragging her.
"Calum! Oh my god! Where are we g-going?!" She exclaimed in a hush tone as we ran our way outside.
"Thank me later!" I laughed.
I let her back to my black range rover and she was utterly confused.
"Calum what are you d-doing? What about the w-wedding?"
"There's gonna be no wedding if there's no bride and groom, right? You said that once before!" I chuckled.
Once I opened the backseat door her eyes widened.
She saw Luke and I couldn't help but let my heart die a little inside. I see her as a friend but why am I feeling like this?
I help her climb in the car and I made my way towards the driver's seat.
I made a run for it knce I started the engine. My phone wouldn't stop vibrating in my pocket.
I ignored it still.
I heard them talking about how sorry they were to each other and I can't help but eavesdrop.
Once I felt that its too much for me I zoned out.
My heart feels heavy and shit.
Admit it you're jealous. I heard an annoying voice inside me exclaimed.
I shook my head. No. Tatum is only a friend to me.
Who the fuck are you kidding? You fucking like her. Don't be stupid. Why would you do all of this for her? Why the hell do you care about her happiness? Stop fooling yourself!
I sighed before parking again to the nearest lot. We've finally arrived our next destination. This is now or never.
"Where are we?" She asks.
"Airport" I exclaimed before looking at them.
"What do you mean? What are you guys planning?" She asks again.
"You have two tickets to Ireland which is going to leave in about.." I peered down my wrist watch "15 minutes." Before chuckling.
"Oh my god!" She gasped.
"Your bags are on the trunk." I added. Thank god I didn't decide to give back her duffel back to her house. The one Nana prepared for her that night. I thought it might come in handy one day. Luke made sure she had Tatum's passport the one she left back in Australia.
I helped them step out of the car. She managed to help Luke as he place one of his arms around her shoulder for support.
Stop staring if you're not jealous.
I looked away.
I helped dragged the trolley that has a duffel on top of it behind me as we walk towards the automatic doors of the airport entrance.
"So I guess..this is it-" I laughed. Trying to keep my chill.
She stepped a little away from Luke and managed to crush me in a hug. I was taken aback.
"Calum, you have no idea how much thankful I am. Thank you so much for all of this. I owe you a lot. I don't know how you did it but I'm seriously thankful. I'm sorry about our wedding." I whispered to my chest.
Can she hear my heart beating crazy?
"Nah, don't worry about it. I'm your friend! Don't cry about it now that its over." I chuckled. Still trying to keep my cool.
"Thank you so much, Mr. Hood." I heard Luke exclaimed from behind her.
Luke nods towards my direction and I smiled.
She pulled away. Wiping a few tears rolling down her cheek.
"Go on now, before your flight leaves you." I nudged and she nodded.
She grabbed the trolley bag from me and she pecked me a kiss on the cheek.
My eyes widened. I never expected thstn I felt my heart explode inside me and my stomach twist into knots.
She started walking away.
"Don't forget about me!" I teased.
"Never!" She smiled before disappearing.
And that's when I realized that I have always loved her.
