--MISA WAS UNPACKING HER BELONGINGS, the soft rustle of fabric and the occasional clink of a hanger breaking the silence of her new dorm room. Her room was cozy but simple, situated conveniently next to Kugisaki's. Through the thin walls, she could faintly hear Nobara humming to herself, likely unpacking her own things with the same mix of anticipation and exhaustion.
As Misa folded a shirt and placed it neatly in the drawer, her mind wandered. She found herself wondering if she'd fit into this new group. While they had all met the day before, there was something about their dynamic that made her feel slightly out of step.
Yuji's boundless energy and easy laughter seemed to effortlessly draw people in, while Nobara's bold confidence left no room for awkwardness. Even Megumi, with his quieter, more reserved demeanor, seemed to naturally complement the others.
Misa sighed, tucking her hair behind her ear as she smoothed down the clothes in the drawer. It wasn't that they had been unkind or dismissiveâin fact, they'd been warm and welcoming, even teasing her in a way that felt almost sibling-like. But as the newcomer, there was always that lingering insecurity, that nagging question of whether she'd truly belong or just be a temporary addition to their already-strong bond.
She glanced at the snowflake-shaped pendant resting on her desk, the familiar weight of it a small comfort. "Relax," she muttered to herself. "You've handled curses, missions, and clan expectations. A few new friends should be easy, right?"
Still, the flicker of doubt remained, and as she pulled out the last of her clothes, she resolved to give it her allânot just in missions, but in being a part of this team. After all, Gojo had placed her here for a reason. She just had to trust that she'd find her place in their world, one step at a time.
With a sudden knock, her thoughts were interrupted.
She whipped her head towards the sound, spotting the pink-haired boy standing in the doorway. He wore his bright yellow t-shirt, leaning casually against the frame, his kind, warming smile catching her off guard.
"Hey," Yuji said, scratching the back of his neck. "I, uh, hope I'm not bothering you. I just wanted to check in, see how you're settling in."
Misa blinked at him for a moment before shaking her head, her lips curving into a small smile. "No, you're not bothering me. I was just... unpacking. Trying to figure out where everything goes. You know, new place and all."
Yuji nodded, stepping a little closer but staying in the doorway. "Yeah, I get it. First day and all that. It's weird, right? One moment you're living a normal life, and thenâbam! Jujutsu sorcerer. Curses. Crazy teachers. It's a lot."
Misa chuckled softly, leaning against the desk. "You can say that again. It still feels like some bizarre dream. Like any second I'm going to wake up back in my room in the mountains."
"The mountains?" Yuji tilted his head, curious. "That's awesome!"
"Yeah," Misa said, a hint of nostalgia in her voice. "My clan's up there. Snow everywhere, all year round. Peaceful but... lonely. Tokyo's a whole different world."
"That sounds cool, thoughâliterally," Yuji joked, earning a soft laugh from her. "I mean, I've never even seen that much snow in my life. Must've been fun as a kid, building snowmen and all that."
"Fun until your snowmen come to life because of cursed energy," Misa quipped, her grin widening. "Trust me, it's not as cute as it sounds."
Yuji burst out laughing, his carefree energy filling the room. "Okay, yeah, that would be terrifying. Still, I bet you have some crazy stories. Way cooler than mine."
Misa raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms. "Oh, come on. You're the guy who ate Sukuna's finger on a dareâor something like that. Pretty sure you've got me beat."
"Hey, it wasn't a dare!" Yuji protested, though his grin remained. "It was more like... a bad decision in a life-or-death moment. Big difference."
"Sure, sure," Misa teased, her smile softening. "So, what's your deal, Yuji Itadori? What's life like when you're not, you know, eating cursed objects?"
"Movies," Yuji said without hesitation. "I love movies. Horror, action, comedy, you name it. I used to watch a ton of them with my grandpa."
Misa's eyes lit up. "You're into movies too? Okay, favorite movie. Go."
"Oh, that's tough," Yuji said, rubbing his chin as if it were a life-or-death decision. "But if I had to pick... Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla. Classic. What about you?"
Misa's lips curled into a grin. "The Thing. Hands down. Nothing beats a good, creepy survival story with a weird monster."
"Ohhh, solid choice," Yuji said, nodding enthusiastically. "That one's awesome. The effects? Amazing. But also kind of gross."
"That's what makes it great," Misa said, her tone playful. "What's the point of horror if it doesn't make you shake in your boots a little?"
"Fair point," Yuji said with a laugh. "Okay, next question: Do you like martial arts movies? Because I'm thinking we need a movie night here sometime. I've got Drunken Master on my must-watch list."
Misa tilted her head thoughtfully. "You know, I've never actually seen it. But if it's as good as you're hyping it up to be, I'm in."
"Awesome," Yuji said, his face lighting up. "We'll make it a thing. Popcorn, soda, maybe Nobara yelling at us about our bad taste in movies. It'll be great."
Misa smiled at him, feeling a bit of her earlier unease start to melt away. "You know, you're not what I expected, Yuji."
He raised an eyebrow, leaning against the doorframe. "What'd you expect? A guy brooding in a corner like Megumi?"
"Something like that," she teased, grinning. "But no, you're... nice. It's refreshing."
Yuji's expression softened, his voice warm. "Well, hey, it's your first day. We're all in this together, right? You're part of the team now, Misa. So don't stress about fitting in or anything like that. Just be yourself. We've got your back."
Her chest tightened slightly at the sincerity in his tone, but she quickly pushed it away with a small laugh. She glanced back at the pile of clothes she had yet to unpack, but something about the way Yuji lingered made her hesitate.
"It was a cool entrance by the way," Yuji pointed out. "The whole explosion, jumping out of a building thing, I mean."
Misa felt her cheeks grow warm at his words, but she quickly masked it with a teasing grin. "Careful, Yuji. Keep saying things like that, and I might start thinking you're my biggest fan."
"Hey, someone's gotta hype you up," Yuji replied, grinning back at her. "I guess that means I'll have to work harder to impress you."
"Impress me?" Misa arched an eyebrow, leaning her hip against the desk. "You've already eaten a cursed object and survived. I think you've got the whole 'impressive' thing down."
Yuji chuckled, scratching the back of his neck. "Fair point. But still, I want to prove I can keep up. Especially with someone as badass as you."
Misa rolled her eyes, but her smile betrayed her amusement. "Alright, Mr. Determined. Let's see how you do in training tomorrow. Maybe I'll even let you spar with meâif you're lucky." She teased.
"Deal," Yuji said, his grin widening. "But don't blame me if I end up stealing the spotlight."
"Oh, I'll be ready," Misa shot back, her voice light but confident. "Don't say I didn't warn you."
As Yuji turned to leave, he glanced back at her with a smile that was softer this time, more genuine. "It's good to have you here, Misa. Really."
She watched him go, a small, genuine smile spreading across her face as she watched him go. When the door closed she found herself watching where he had stood, the soft smile still lingering on her expression.
She let out a breath. Perhaps she'd be able to fit in just fine.

--The cafeteria at Jujutsu High was quiet, save for the clinking of utensils and the occasional murmur of conversation. Misa sat at the end of the long table, her plate piled with scrambled eggs and toast. Across from her, Yuji and Nobara were locked in a heated argument about whether pancakes or waffles were superior, while Megumi sipped his tea silently, his expression already exhausted from the chaos.
"Waffles are just pancakes with abs!" Yuji declared, pointing his fork dramatically at Nobara.
"Wrong! Waffles are superior because they can hold syrup in their little squares," Nobara shot back, gesturing with a piece of bacon like it was a weapon. "It's functional and delicious. Pancakes are just floppy discs."
"Floppy discs?" Yuji repeated, looking scandalized. "Did you just insult pancakes?"
Misa snickered into her coffee, shaking her head. "You guys really know how to start the day with meaningful debates, huh?"
"Don't encourage them," Megumi muttered, barely glancing up from his tea.
Misa leaned her chin on her hand, smirking. "Oh, but it's so entertaining."
Before Yuji could fire back another retort, a loud and familiar voice interrupted.
"Good morning, my favorite little sorcerers!" Gojo strolled into the room, his blindfold firmly in place and his signature grin wider than usual. He held a steaming cup of coffee in one hand and a folder in the other. "Hope you all had a good night's sleep because we've got a fun one today."
"Define fun," Megumi said flatly, his tone laced with suspicion.
Gojo ignored the comment, sliding the folder onto the table in front of them. "Mission time, kiddos. There's an abandoned amusement park downtown that's been giving off some nasty cursed energy vibes. We've been getting reports of weird stuff happeningâpeople hearing laughter at night, lights turning on by themselves, the usual haunted theme park nonsense."
"An amusement park?" Misa perked up, her eyes glinting with curiosity. "That's so cool!" She practically squealed of excitement.
"Yeah, until the haunted roller coaster tries to eat you," Megumi muttered.
Gojo tapped the folder with a finger. "It's not just any cursed spirit. From what we can tell, it's a high-grade curse that's been building power over the last few months. No one's been braveâor stupidâenough to go in, so we get to clean up the mess."
Nobara sighed dramatically, stabbing her waffle with her fork. "Great. Nothing says 'good morning' like fighting for your life in a creepy amusement park."
Yuji, however, looked more excited than anything. "Wait, wait. So you're saying we get to fight a curse in a place with roller coasters? That's so cool!"
"Not if the roller coasters are alive," Megumi pointed out, giving Yuji a pointed look. "Which, knowing our luck, they probably are."
Gojo grinned, clearly enjoying himself. "Exactly! Think of it as training. You'll get to bond as a team, face some fun challenges, and maybe even make some memories. Plus, I'll be there to superviseâ"
"Which means you're not going to help at all," Nobara interrupted, glaring at him.
"Correct!" Gojo said cheerfully, taking a sip of his tea. "But I believe in you guys. You've got this."
Misa leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms. "So, what's the plan? Just go in, find the curse, and exorcise it?"
"More or less," Gojo said, shrugging. "But keep your guard up. The reports say the cursed energy there has been making the environment... unpredictable."
"Unpredictable how?" Megumi asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Oh, you know," Gojo said vaguely, waving his hand. "Things might move on their own. The rides might attack you. Maybe the Ferris wheel turns into a giant spinning death trap. It's all very standard stuff."
"Standard?" Nobara repeated, looking incredulous. "That's not standard."
Misa raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on her lips. "So basically, it's a haunted death park, and we're the clean-up crew."
"Exactly!" Gojo said, pointing at her. "See? Misa gets it."
Yuji grinned, clearly hyped. "Alright, let's do it. Haunted amusement park? That's like something out of a movie. I'm in."
Nobara groaned. "Of course you're excited."
"Hey, if we survive, maybe we can ride the Ferris wheel afterward," Yuji suggested, his grin widening.
"If it doesn't try to kill us first," Megumi muttered.
Misa chuckled, finishing her coffee. "I don't know. It sounds kind of fun. And besides," she added, glancing at Yuji, "if things go sideways, we've got a guy here who's basically a walking movie protagonist. How hard can it be?"
Yuji puffed out his chest, clearly taking the comment as a compliment. "See? She gets it."
Nobara groaned again, muttering something about "too much optimism this early in the morning," while Megumi just shook his head, already resigned to the chaos that awaited.
Gojo clapped his hands together, his grin practically splitting his face. "Alright, team, finish up your breakfast and suit up. We leave in an hour. Don't forget to pack your courageâand maybe a snack or two. It's going to be a long day."
As Gojo strolled out of the room, humming to himself, the four students exchanged a look. Misa grinned, Yuji looked excited, Nobara rolled her eyes, and Megumi sighed deeply, already regretting his life choices.
"Well," Misa said, standing up and grabbing her empty plate, "this should be interesting."
Yuji nodded, his grin matching hers. "Haunted amusement park, here we come."
