Jadwa
He was sitting in the parlor when i came back so I hurried to the kitchen to get the mop so that i can clean the water i dripped,
I was still shivering but we said nothing to each other so i went back to the kitchen to look for work to do,
I remembered the herbs the queen gave me finished and she said I should come back for more and Didi said she wanted liver sauce too so since its still drizzling I decided to make the sauce and keep so i can warm it and take it for her later,
I don't know how long i took in the kitchen because i made Didi's Sauce, made smoothies and fruit juice also and stew,
So after I finished , I decided to go and ask him what he would like to eat for lunch but he wasn't in the parlor again so i went upstairs to check his room
I gently knocked the door and opened it slowly walking as if i was tiptoeing I checked the room but he wasn't there so I opened the curtain covering the glass door leading to his balcony but no sign of him so I turned and went back downstairs,
"Maybe he went out or he's in the bathroom" I mentally told myself,
Immediately I entered the kitchen I almost ran out, he was there leaning on the fridge drinking the smoothie i made,
"Good afternoon your highness" I greeted sniffing the catarrh that was about to make its way out of my nose,
"Afternoon" he replied looking at me as if he was looking into my soul
"I wanted to ask what you would like...." I didn't even finish the sentence before a loud sneeze escaped my mouth and nose,
I covered my nose with my hands immediately rushing to my toilet to wash it out,
I went back into the kitchen and met him in the same spot i left him,
"Im sorry please" i said and looked down
"I wanted to ask what you would like for lunch" i said for the second time,
"Anything" he said like always
Its as if asking him is useless now because he hardly specify so i end up making anything anything i feel like,
"Okay" I whispered and started looking for what to make,
After thinking and thinking i made tuwon semovita with kuka,
I was feeling somehow weak so I decided to use the opportunity of praying to lay for a bit,
"Darn you sweet rain" I mentally said entering the covers
I didn't know how long i slept but when I woke up it was dark outside,
"Inalillahi" i said as I mentally cursed myself and entered the bathroom in a hurry, i washed my face and performed ablution,
After i prayed asr and magrib i rushed to take Didi's sauce
"Jadwa Lafiya this evening" she asked looking at me
"Are you okay?" She asked and i just nodded but i was boiling inside, i think i got a fever
"I'm okay didi, I brought the sauce as promised" i said dropping it
"Saida safe" i said rushing out
"Tell sada to escort you please its late, I'll come to your side tomorrow okay"
I nodded and rushed out deciding not to call any sada its just here and besides I'm stopping at the main palace,
"Sannun ku" I greeted the maids i found there
"Jadwa" i heard Mami's voice and I hurried and turned to greet her
"Mami good evening" i said bowing
"Ya aiki" she asked and I replied with Lafiya Alhamdulillah
"I wanted to see the queen" i said and she led the way and I followed behind her
"Ranki ya dade Jadwa ce daga shiyan yarima" she said immediately she opened the door
The queen nodded and mami left us
"Your highness good evening" I greeted kneeling down
"Evening Jadwa how are you?" She asked and I replied with "Alhamdulillah"
"Hope no problem?" She asked and I turned my head gesturing no
"The herbs you gave me the other day finished so i came to get more" I answered
She smiled and nodded
"Come back tomorrow at this time okay?" She said and i nodded before bidding her farewell,
I managed to walk back to Sultan but i was just trying to be strong,
I met Amla on the way and immediately she saw me she hurried to my side
"Keeeeee daga ina haka?"
"Amla!!!!!" I shouted not so loud
"Matsoraciya" she said touching my cheeks but immediately removed her hand
"Jadwa your body is hot whats wrong?" "Its just fever" I replied "it will go when i sleep and wake up"
We talked for a while and i felt like falling so i said bye to her and went inside
"Sannu da zama" I greeted and he just nodded
"I wanted to ask what you would like to eat"but he didn't say anything so i stood there feeling so dizzy
"Noodles" he said
"Okay your highness" i said in a slightly slurred speech and went into the kitchen
I sat on the chair for some time because my immune system is really weak now and its getting weaker,
I stood up walking slowly to prepare his food, my legs felt too heavy for me to move now so i sat back down crying
I decided to wash my face thinking it will make me feel better but all in vain and it even made it worse because immediately after washing my face an unbearable headache started and i felt as if my head was also heavy for my neck,
I placed my palm on my forehead but no relief so I removed my scarf and sprinkled some water in my hair
I decided to go and beg him to please forgive me because I'm so sick but the last thing I remembered was me opening the kitchen door to the parlor,
"Jadwa!" I heard a faint voice calling but the light was too sensitive for me to open my eye
I then felt hands touching my neck and my forehead,
It took me some minutes to realize that someone was holding me tightly in their arms and i was resting my head on their chest,
Immediately I opened my eyes I tried removing myself from the embrace but all in vain
"Why didn't you tell me you were sick?" He asked but i had no answer to his question so i kept quiet,
He hugged me tightly again before he released me gently leading me to sit on the couch,
I sat there but rested my head on the arm of the chair because I couldn't leave it up,
He stood up and went upstairs and within seconds he came back,
I heard a door opening and closing before i felt a presence again
"Here" be said handing me a bottle of water and some pills
I didn't argue i just collected it and swallowed painfully
"Sorry" he said when he saw how I squeezed my face when swallowing,
I nodded and placed my head back down
"Here let's go" he said handing me his hand but I couldn't take it so he took mine and raised me up wrapping his arm around my shoulder gently leading me to my room,
I laid on my bed slowly and I don't know why but I started crying, the way i was feeling was so bad that tears were the only things that can make me feel better or so I taught,
He was about to go but he came back immediately I started my screaming,
"Jadwa are you okay?"
"Should we go to the hospital?"
Still no answer so he gently knelt in front of the bed placing his hand on my forehead which made me feel better a little bit,
I think there was a sleeping pill among the ones he gave me before because immediately he started massaging the sides if my forehead I slept without knowing,
I woke up in the middle of the night very thirsty so I managed to go down and get water or smoothie to take because after the little lunch i took nothing is in my stomach again,
I took the smoothie and ended up vomiting all and it made me nauseous so I picked a bottle of water and headed back to my room,
I woke up the next morning feeling worse, my hair was covering my eyes and i didn't even try to repair it,
All i was thinking was how to get up and cook for sultan,
Immediately i heard the sound of the doorknob I hurried and closed my eyes,
Someone removed the hair covering my face and i felt hungry eyes on me so I gently opened my eyes and met sultan's glowing eyes,
I didn't know that i was also starring deep into his eyes till i heard the doorbell that brought me back to my senses,
He left immediately and after a few minutes he came back with a plate of "paten tsaki",
"Get up and eat" he instructed but I wasn't feeling like eating anything apart from taking juice
I pretend as if i was sleeping but it was of no use because immediately i felt two strong hands raising me to sit up right,
I pouted and was about to pick the spoon when he hurried and carried it before me,
Then he said "ahh"
"Is he going to feed me?" I mentally asked myself but before I could answer my mouth snitching me and opened itself,
I didn't even eat half of the plate before I started crying, i was already full but I didn't know how to tell him that
He dropped the plate and handed me a glass of orange juice with some drugs for me to swallow,
"Sleep kinji, the Doctor is coming to check on you later" he said and left me alone
I slept for not more than 1 hour and woke up to the sound of 2 people having a conversation,
"Hiiii" the other man who i think is the doctor said and I replied with a faint "heyy" and closed my eyes
"She's having fever and flu Yarima so i need to inject her" he said and my heart beat increased immediately he said that
I hate injections,
"No problem" Sultan said and I looked at him with teary eyes but he ignored me
I cried before and after the injection
"C'mon Jadwa its not painful" he said but I ignored him,
"Okay sorry kinji?" He said sitting next to me removing the cotton wool to see what i was crying for,
He chuckled quietly and kept a straight face "Sorry okay?" He said but I didn't say anything
I've been sick for the past 3 days and I don't know how but Sultan always bring me breakfast lunch and dinner, not only bringing he also feed me and give me drugs to take,
I fell for him all over again but i had no way of expressing it to him,
"Cupcake" he said sitting close to me
Yes thats the name Sultan calls me now and yes we're on more than good terms now because after i eat dinner and take my medicine, he stays till the effect of the medicine take over my body and i fall asleep,
"Are you sure you're okay?" He asked for the 100th time that night
"Yes I'm okay" i said and he held my hand and intertwined our fingers together
I was already feeling sleepy but I'm still semi conscious so i can hear what he was saying
"Jadwa" he called out slowly and i said "mmm"
"Do you know what?" He asked and i said "aa"
He pecked my hands and gently placed his forehead on mine
I looked into his eye and immediately closed mine "look at me Jadwa" he ordered and I slowly opened my eyes to meet his glowing eyes,
"Are you sleepy?" He asked and i said "no" because as if my heart knows who is this close to me today, sleep refused to come immediately
"Jadwa" he called again and i said "Na'am" in a tone that sounded more like a whisper
"Do you love me?" He asked and I froze at that instant before i came back to my senses
I didn't know what to say so i closed my eyes again but i felt his palms on both side of my face,
"Please Jadwa look at me" he pleaded and i felt guilty so I opened my eyes again to meet his
"You haven't answered my question Jadwa" he said in a voice that made my heart to melt
I still didn't know what to say and sleep was already talking over me
"I love you Jadwa" was the last thing i heard him say before my brain shut down
