Chapter 26: 2.11

Arielle was currently setting up the gym, for homecoming, while Rebekah had gone to pick up her dress. Caroline was checking the decorations outside and fixing other little details.

After everything that had happened a couple days ago, with Rebekah finding out Klaus had killed her mother, the original wanted to forget everything, and so she basically forced the Forbes to start planning for homecoming.

Or else they'd still be bed rotting, while watching 'Gossip Girls' and eating ramen, in Arielle's room. To say Rebekah pushed them out of the house, is an understatement.

Arielle knew it'd be a losing game once Rebekah got Caroline on her side, so she had accepted her fate and came to help set up. Although, that consisted of her sitting and bossing people around.

"How does everything look so far in here?" Caroline asked, as she walked up to where she was sitting.

Arielle looked around the gym before answering her, "Looks good! I think that Logan guy did a really good job with the streamers." she commented.

Caroline rolled her eyes as she marked something on her clipboard, "His name's Luke not Logan." she corrected, "And he didn't do the streamers, I did."

"Ohhh! That makes so much more sense."

Caroline sighed, "Are you even doing anything?"

Arielle gasped in fake offense, "Yes!" she exclaimed, standing up, "Look. I'll get all those lazy bums working right now." she told her, pointing at a group of students who were sitting on the bleachers.

"Mhm!" Caroline said, very doubtfully, "Just make sure the photographer and DJ booth get set up." she said before walking off.

The were-witch rolled her eyes before calling over one of the freshmen, "Are the posters up yet?" she asked in a hushed tone.

"Yeah?" the freshmen answered.

"Okay!" she whispered, before walking slightly away from her, "Okay! Everyone needs to make sure you help the DJ and photographer set up!" she yelled out loud, making everyone look at her.

"But we already did everything. Can't you do this?" a random kid asked.

"And can't you just do as told?" she asked back, "You volunteered to help, don't complain when I give you something to do."

"It's not that, it's jus-"

"Any relevant questions?" she interrupted.

"Yes-"

"No? Cool, everyone back to what they were doing." she ordered, making everyone disperse back to their tasks.

Arielle and Caroline stood infront of their school watching a bunch a cop cars parked infront of their school.

"What happened?" Caroline asked her boyfriend as him and Marcus went to closer to them.

"The gyms flooded. The dance is cancelled." Tyler answered her.

"WHAT?!" both of the girls yelled at the same time.

"Yep!" Marcus confirmed.

"Now what? Because I didn't put myself in this damn dress for nothing!" Arielle complained.

"We could always do it at our house." Marcus offered.

The girls faces lit up, "Really?" Caroline asked.

Tyler shrugged, "I don't see why not." he said.

"You are the best!" Caroline exclaimed as she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, before walking off with Arielle, who was calling Rebekah, to inform her of the plan change.

As Arielle and Caroline walked into Tyler's house, the two were shocked at how well the party came out to be in such a short amount of time.

"This is nice." Arielle commented as they walked around the house.

"How did he plan a better party than me so fast?" Caroline scoffed.

Arielle laughed and looked outside, "Is that a band?"

Caroline looked towards where she was looking and was about to speak when Bonnie came up to them, "Hey, do either of you know any of these people?"

The girls both shook their heads, "I just started school here, so don't ask me." Arielle said.

"This is weird." Caroline commented making Arielle agree, "And where is Tyler?"

Arielle was walking outside trying to find Rebekah. She had texted and called the blonde many times, but every time it was the same thing, voicemail.

Hence, why she was searching.

"Ariiiiii!" she turned to the sound of Marcus calling her name, and saw him running up to her.

"Hey Marcus." she greeted.

"Do you want some?" he asked, holding up his drink.

The girl shook her head, "No, thanks! Have you seen Bekah?"

"I was just about to ask you that."

"I texted her and told her it was now at your house, but I've gotten zero answers." she said.

"Me too." Marcus mumbled, "Last time we talked, she said she had to stop at the Damon's house."

Arielle turned to him, "And you let her go by herself?" she asked in complete disbelief, making Marcus nod his head uncertainly.

The were-witch scoffed, "They probably did something to her-scratch that, they definitely did something to her." she said as she looked around.

"Who are you looking for?"

"Those two brothers, or Elena, or maybe even Jeremy, whoever. I just need to find a member of the scooby-do squad."

"Okay, I'll go look inside, maybe one of them is in there." he said. Arielle nodded as he went off.

The girl started walking walking around but stopped omce she heard a familiar voice, "Good evening everyone!" she turned and saw Klaus on the stage.

"I want to thank you all for being here with me to celebrate. It's been a long time coming." the girl watched as he got off the stage with a smile.

She scoffed realizing he was probably the one to flood the gym, and then got Tyler to throw the party at his house. Arielle then saw Stefan and walked over to him.

"Hey, what's up with your boss and this party? Hm?" she asked.

Stefan rolled his eyes at her before he answered, "He's not my boss. And you should be asking your ex-boyfriend and his brother, not me."

"What are you talking about?"

"According to Tyler, this is a wake, not a party." the vampire imformed.

Before Arielle could say something, Stefan spoke to someone who was behind her, "Quite the homecoming."

"I've been planning my father's funeral for 1,000 years." Klaus said, making Arielle turn around and look at him in annoyence, "Granted, in no version of it were any of these people invited. But you get the idea." he sent her a small smile, but the girl just rolled her eyes.

"So what now? You just stop running?" Stefan asked.

"Now I reunite my family." once those words left Klaus' mouth, Arielle's face lips formed a smile.

"Your family?" Stefan voiced, "You mean the people you carry around in caskets?"

"Yes, Steffy." Arielle said with a cheerful voice.

"Why are you so chirpy? You looked like you wanted to kill me two minutes ago!"

"Didn't you hear? I'm getting my best friend back." she said with a big smile.

She was excited to see Elijah again. It had been months without him, and she needed to talk to him. Yes, the last time they talked she was angry at him, but it had been months since then. So, she had already moved past it.

"Rebekah isn't here." Klaus pointed out, "Where is she?" the question was directed towards Stefan more than Arielle.

"I have no idea." the ripper spoke, "Last I heard, she was coming with Marcus."

"Oh, be honest now, Stefan. Where's my sister?"

"I said I have no idea." he repeated taking a step closer tothe hybrid, "Now, would you like me to take you to your father?"

"Well, it wouldn't be a party without the guest of honor, would it? Bring him to me."

"All right. Perhaps there's something in it for me?" he began, "My freedom from your compulsion."

"Oh, you want your freedom? Well, once he's dead and his weapon destroyed, you'll have your freedom." Klaus assured, "It'll be my pleasure to give it back to you." he added.

Stefan looked like he was going to say something else, but he instead bit his tongue and walked away.

"You look stunning." Klaus commented.

Arielle was wearing a thigh-lengthed blue dress, her hair curled, black heels, with light makeup. The dress was strapless, she still had her coat on.

"I know." Klaus laughed a bit at her response.

"Are you actually going to wake up your family?" the girl asked, a bit hesitant.

Even though he said he would do it didn't mean he would. He could just be break his word. It wasn't something that'd be completly out of nature for him. It's what he's been doing for the last millennia. So she can't expect him to 𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 keep his word this one time.

"I am." Klaus confirmed, "Once I confirm Mikael is dead and I find Rebekah, I'll wake them."

The girl nodded with a small smile, "Okay, well, I'll help you find Rebekah, so we can wake them quicker." she went to walk away, but the man held her back.

She turned to look at him with confusion, "What?"

"Can I have this dance?" he asked.

"Um, this isn't a slow song." she pointed out.

"I can arrange that." he whispered.

Arielle looked into his eyes and then to the dance floor. A part of her was saying no, but the other part was yes. She was probably going to regret it later, but at the moment she wanted to.

"I guess a dance wouldn't hurt?" she spoke hesitantly.

Klaus smiled and leaded her to the dance floor. As they stepped onto the floor, the music went into a ballad. Klaus placed his hands on her hips, as Arielle placed hers on his neck and the two started dancing as the song played.

"I didn't know you were a dancer."

"I used to dance with Caroline." the girl revealed.

"Dance? You?" he asked in complete disbelief, the girl nodded in confirmation, "Why?"

"She wanted to get extra practice for Miss Mystic Falls and it looks great for when they're 𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 picking who wins Miss Mystic that year."

"How long did you practice for?"

"About a year."

"Why'd you leave?"

"Oh, I left town and never started again." she replied with a shrug.

Klaus noticed some her face change once she mentioned it, so he decided to drop it. He wasn't going to push her to far, knowing she might get angry.

The two danced until the song was over. As soon as it ended Arielle left quickly, and Klaus let her.

Klaus was playing beer pong when one of his hybrids interrupted him, "You have a visitor." Mindy informed him.

"Well, tell my visitor, I'm on the brink of victory here." he waved off.

"He said his name is Mikael." Klaus tensed up but maintained to keep his cool.

"Then we musn't keep him waiting." he said. He turned to another hybrid and said, "Move everyone out back. I'm going to have a little chat with my dad. Tony, you know what to do."

Klaus arrieved to the front of the house, which had the door open, and tried his best to keep his emotions at bay once he saw his father, "Hello, Niklaus."

"Hello, Mikael." he greeted with a fake smile, "Won't you come in? Oh, that's right. I forgot. You can't." he taunted.

"Or you can come outside if you want."

"Or I can watch as my hybrids tear you limb from limb." Klaus said as his hybrids started standing on the lawn.

Mikael scoffed, "They can't kill me."

"True." he confirmed, "But it'll make a hell of a party game. All I have to do is rub these two fingers together, and they'll pounce."

"The big, bad wolf." Mikael taunted, "You haven't changed. Still hiding behind your playthings like a coward." he spat, "You only forget. They may be 𝑠𝑖𝑟𝑒𝑑 by you, but they're still vampire. And can still be 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑑 by me."

On cue, Mindy comes and hands Mikael, Elena, "Come out and face me, Niklaus, or she dies." he threatned.

Klaus scoffed, "Go ahead. Kill her."

Elena's eyes showed fear, "No, Klaus. He'll do it."

"If she dies, this lot will be the last of your abominations." Mikael said, as he gripped Elena harder.

"I don't need them." Klaus said, "I just need to be rid of you." he said pointing at his father.

"To what end, Niklaus? So you can live forever with no one at your side?" he asked, "Nobody cares about you anymore, boy! Who do you have other than those whose loyalty you've forced? No one. 𝑁𝑜 𝑜𝑛𝑒." he taunted.

Klaus tried his best to not show his words had affected him, but the tears that were starting to form in his eyes betrayed him, "I'm calling your bluff, father. Kill her!"

"Come outside and face me, you little coward. And I won't have to."

"My whole life you've underestimated me. If you kill her, you lose your leverage." Klaus said, "So go ahead. Go on. Kill her." he demanded, but Mikael stayed in place, "Come on, old man. Kill her. Kill her!"

Mikael started to laugh as one of Klaus' tears fell from his eyes, "Your impulse, Niklaus. It has and will forever be the one thing that keeps you from truly being great."

Mikael pulled out a knife and stabbed Elena, she fell to the floor gasping in pain, whilst Klaus watched. Mikael laughed before Damon sped in and stabbed Klaus with a stake. Elena gets up and Mikael realises who it truly was.

"Katherine..."

She smirks at him before throwing wolfsbane grenades at the hybrids and speeding off. Damon takes out the stake and is about to drive it to Klaus' heart but Stefan sped in and pushed him off before he got the chance to do so.

Klaus takes the opportunity, grabbed the stake, speeds towards Mikael, and drives it straight through his heart.

"What the hell did you do?" Damon asked Stefan.

"He's earned his freedom." Klaus mumbled, turning to face them.

Stefan gets up and looks at Klaus, "Thank you, my friend." Klaus began before compelling him, "You no longer have to do as I say."
