Yernia hugged Cassianâs waist.
When her forehead leaned against his stomach as she dozed off, Cassian grabbed Yerniaâs cheeks and pinched them to wake her up.
âIâll do everything for you.â
âThen, wash my face.â
Washing someone elseâs face?
It was physically impossible.
Yernia didnât doubt that he also believed it too.
However, Cassian seemed determined to wash Yerniaâs face.
âI should have put you to sleep earlier last night. I wish I knew in advance that I couldnât get up like this.â
ââ¦â¦.â
Yesterday had made her feel sick and tired despite being half asleep.
Yernia punched Cassianâs shoulder with a fist.
She was able to hit him right but why was she the one in pain?
Why were his muscles so hard?
âClose your eyes.â
Still, she was doubtful whether Cassian would wash her face or not.
She closed her eyes, thinking she had nothing to lose.
After hearing the sound of running water, large hands gently washed away the drowsiness off her tired face.
His hands carefully rubbed her swollen eyes as if stroking a smooth, white ball.
âIf you sleep in the same bed with me, I can always wash your face.â
âWhy bother?â
âIâm a good husband than you expected. Youâre so lucky to be my wife, Yernia.â
With his hand on her nose, Yernia stared at Cassian like a madman.
What did he want her to do?
Blow her nose in his hand?
âWhatâs the point of being dirty? I donât even have a runny nose.â
âItâs not dirty.â
âThatâs enough.â
Yernia pushed Cassianâs hand away.
No matter how liberated she was growing up, she couldnât possibly blow her nose in his hand.
Of course, it was nasty stuff.
When she refused, Cassian wiped Yerniaâs face with a towel.
She was wide awake now but she still didnât want to get out of bed.
As Cassian glanced down at her, she didnât know what else to say so she rolled herself inside the blankets like a burrito.
Her head had turned upside down as she rolled on the bed and she saw Cassian going the bathroom to get some water.
All the blood seemed to have gone inside her brain as she watched Cassian in this view.
Was she looking at him for nothing?
âLetâs wash up now.â
âIâll take care of myself if you allow me to sleep a bit more.â
âNo way.â
Yernia was upset that Cassian was being strict.
She was about to say something, but Cassian picked her up and carried her to the bathroom.
Yerniaâs face paled.
âCassian. Cassian, listen to me!â
âYou canât sleep anymore. Iâm sure youâll cry later because you couldnât finish your tasks on todayâs schedule. What would you do?â
âI was about to wash up anyway. Put me down, and Iâll walk to the bathroom  by myself.â
âHow can I trust you? Youâre going to roll yourself under the blankets again.â
âThatâs not true. Donât throw me into the water, Cassian!â
Yernia expected her husband to drop her into the bathtub, so she struggled against his hold.
He knew how to fix her like that.
âYou might give me a heart attack.â
When Cassian finally got into the bathroom, she saw the bathtub around the corner.
Yernia closed her eyes, preparing herself for the big splash.
On the contrary, Â Cassian didnât drop her as she expected.
Cassian settled Yernia at the bathtubâs rim.
As the currents moved at the bathtubâs edge, water was sprayed on Cassianâs clothes.
âI wonât do anything you donât like anymore.â
ââ¦â¦.â
âIâm trying not to.â
After flicking a finger on her forehead, Cassian closed the door and disappeared.

âMadam, the mail is here.â
Yernia  accepted what the servant gave her.
It was a letter and a necklace case.
The sender was Jennan.
Yernia often exchanged letters with Jennan since she went on that cruise.
âI want to check if you still like me or not. Please let me do this much. Youâre my fan, right?â
Jennan misunderstood Yernia for supporting him with all her heart.
At first, he tried to seduce Yernia with his body because he assumed that was what she was after.
However, the misunderstanding was resolved later, and he finally got her sincerity as his fan.
After that, Jennan gave Yernia his address so they could exchange letters.
Of course, Cassian knew about this.
She told him in advance in case he thought she was cheating again.
âDo you have to do it out of all people? Just see him on stage.â
âJennan doesnât have a true fan around him. I promise you we wonât meet in private from now on. I donât want you to misunderstand. Iâll just send him a letter.â
Cassianâs reaction didnât look good.
He appeared like he would grab Jennanâs collar if he were there.
Then, he sighed and nodded.
Yernia returned to her room and ripped the letter with a paper-knife.

I heard that youâre preparing for a party.
I want to go too.
Can you send me an invitation?
If you send it to Marchioness de Bellet, Iâll accompany her as her partner.
Haha.
Iâm just kidding.
Itâs your first party as the Marchioness.
Should I visit you there?
Iâm just kidding, so donât worry about it.
Iâll give you a necklace I bought as a token of our friendship.
I really hope I could join you.
You gave me the strength to live but I have nothing valuable to give you except this one.
Donât feel pressured.
Itâs a gift from a singer to his fan.

Yena recently wrote to Jennan about being nervous during the party preparations.
He also told him that Cassian had gotten sick, but he had already recovered.
It had been a long time since she married and spent time with her husband alone.
The day of the party came fast, and Yernia couldnât contain her excitement.
Even if their marriage was arranged, it was pretty nerve-wracking to hold a celebration and greet the guests as the hostess.
It was hard, but at least she managed.
âPretty.â
For a moment, she thought about returning the necklace Jennan gave her since it felt burdensome.
Still, she put it around her neck.
After all, Jennan told her it wasnât that special.
He would be hurt if she sent it back after he spent a lot of money on it.
âMadam, the dress has arrived!â
