Chapter 6: -3-

Dashing through the forest, I jump over logs, and rocks to avoid the animal behind me, which happened to be approaching at a very alarming rate. The wolf lets out a howl, and it sounds almost as if the beast was directly behind me. Suddenly, my breathing hitches in my throat when I feel something slash at my legs - claws to be exact - and I stumble, and crash to the forest floor. I scream out in pain, as the rocks scrape against the bare skin of my body, not covered by the fabric. The sound of his pants behind me had me scrambling in an attempt to get away.

Letting out a small whimper when I attempt to get up again, I realize the blood now gushing out of my leg. Bringing my shaking hands down to my throbbing leg, I wince at the small pressure I put on it, and quickly flinch, pulling back my hand. It's laced in my own blood, and I feel faint at the sight. Sure, I tend to animals who bleed, but humans? Not my thing.

I suddenly feel something, cool, yet wet slide across the wounds on my skin. My eyes widen in alarm, and I scamper away, trying to avoid whatever had done this to me. Out of the darkness, a wolf saunters out, and the familiar golden eyes meet my own. The beautiful brown wolf I had saved the other night now comes to kill me. How sadly ironic. The wolf I had saved now comes back to kill me. Lovely.

He bares his teeth in a warning and slowly gets closer. Staying completely still in fear, I squeeze my eyes shut hoping for him to either leave or make my death a quick one. Suddenly, the wet feeling is on my legs once more, and my eyes flutter open, and I look over to see him licking up and down my leg. Almost as if trying to... heal it? For a few moments, I watch curiously, trying to decipher the true motives of this animal. Then he stops licking, and he looks up at me. A guttural growl rumbles from his chest, and he stalks closer to me, and I know now I'm his prey. Backing up quickly, I find my back suddenly hit the trunk of a tree, and he comes impossibly closer. When I make a move to get around the tree, the wolf lets out another warning growl.

If I move, he'll attack, but if I stay who knows what the beast will do.

Squeezing my eyes shut once more, I turn my head to the side, not wanting to watch whatever he was going to do to me. Suddenly, I feel the wolf lick up the side of my neck, and then moments later I feel his teeth pierce my neck and I let out a scream of agony. It hurt so much that I was gripping onto the grass pulling it out of its root. Attempting to move away only makes the wolf clamp down his jaw harder, and I am stuck in place, as my body begins to burn.

The wolf doesn't stop, and I feel myself begin to become faint, and stars dance across my vision. I'm biting down on my bottom lip in an attempt to stop myself from screaming out once more in agony, and I feel the tears begin to well up in my eyes.

So, this is how I die. And I never even got to say goodbye to those I care about. A single tear falls from my eye before the pain reaches an all-time high and everything goes black. And I'm gone.

I am nothing.

My eyes flutter open, and suddenly all my memories come back to me, and I shoot up from where I lay. Looking around I don't realize where I am, and I feel my breathing become unlabored, and eventually, I am gasping for air.

I was dead. I felt dead. Clawing at my throat in desperation, I try to settle my breathing but I can't. I'm freaking out to the point where my vision becomes blurry, and I'm flailing in what now I found to be a bed.

Two arms reach out, stilling my flailing arms, and they pin them to my side. A deep, smooth voice begins to murmur words into my ear, one I can't exactly make out, but it calms me down.

Air finally is able to pass through my lungs, and my breathing evens out. My vision becomes clear, and I find myself staring into a pair of golden eyes that have me taking in a sharp breath. The golden color darkens slightly when he looks at me, then he closes his eyes for a moment. When they open once more, they're a hazel color. Suddenly, without warning, he leans closer to me, and his lips are close to mine.

For some reason, I felt goosebumps rise on my skin, and I wanted his lips on mine. A random stranger. I must be going crazy.

Instead of placing his lips on mine, he diverts his head and moves it towards the crook of my neck. He sniffs my neck, and his once stiff body relaxes, while I still in his arms.

My eyes wander across his face, taking in every detail. He has shoulder-length raven black hair and almond-shaped eyes. His eyes swirl with emotions, ones I can't decipher. With a jaw that could cut glass, and a smirk on his face I couldn't help but stare at him.

Suddenly, he leans closer to me, and I feel his lips kiss the spot on my neck which began to tingle. My eyes widen in surprise, and I reach out to push on his chest to get him away from me. That is until I realized it was bare. Glancing down, I notice how a shirt doesn't cover his chest, and when I look down further I realize nothing covers his... The lower area either.

Covering my eyes almost immediately, I spin around and shove my face into the pillow. The man chuckles, and I feel my cheeks heat up, and go as red as a cherry.

"You can turn around," he says, "Don't be scared. I don't bite."

Hesitantly, I turn back around towards the stranger man and raise my gaze so I'm only looking at his shoulders and up. A charming smile graces his face, and I can't help but admire his dimples.

"I thought you'd never wake," he states, as he leans in closer, tucking a single strand of my hair behind my ear, "I was beginning to get worried, Rose."

As soon as he said my name, I stilled before scooting back further on the bed only to be stopped by the headboard.

"H-how do you know my name?" I ask as he comes closer so he is practically right on top of me on the bed. His eyes lock with mine.

"You're mine Rose," he states as if it's the most simple fact, "Therefore it'd only be improper for me not to know anything about you."

"Did you save me after I passed out in the woods because of that... That beast? I thought I was dead for sure."

He frowns momentarily, and I notice emotion swirl through his eyes for a moment, and then they were blank. "I would never let you die. I was simply claiming what was mine back in that forest. I apologize for handling you roughly. If I had been in control, I would have been much more gentle and would have not forced my bite upon you."

"You're saying... You bit me?" I ask flabbergasted, as I notice how he slightly nods. My breath hitches and I turn away from him, "I must be dreaming. That's impossible, what bit me was a beast-"

Then I remember the way his eyes glowed. How similar- no how exactly they were to the eyes of the beast.

"No," I suddenly whisper out, pushing him back once more, "P-please stay back."

He lets out a low growl, before pulling me back into his arms. "You're mine. Never pull away from me." He grabs my hand, and places a kiss on it, before looking back up at me with dark eyes, "and you may only see me for my beast, but I'm more than that. I will gain your trust and your heart."

"You-you're a monster. A-" He cuts me off before I can finish.

"Werewolf as humans like to say, but I prefer the term 'Lycanthrope'."

"I will never love a beast."

He lets out a small laugh, "Trust me, you will." He smirks at me, then suddenly gets up off the bed, "But until then, Miss. Daniels."

He walk towards the door, his naked self and all, and opens the door practically slamming it shut. I hear the jingle of keys, and a small click which I presumed indicated that he locked the door.

Flopping back down on the bed, I look back up at the ceiling with confusion.

"Did that really just happen?" I mumble to myself

Then, I remember the bite on my neck. Sitting up on the bed, I reach towards it tentatively, not sure if this had all been a dream or not. When my hand comes in contact with the bite a sudden euphoric feeling rushes through me, and I let out a gasp, quickly pulling my hand away from it. Goosebumps cover my arm, and I am shocked immensely. What did he do to me?

Pushing the silk covers off me, I slowly get up from the bed, not wanting to hurt my leg any further. Limping towards the door he exited from, I jiggle the handle, and my presumptions were right. Locked. Dang.

Walking towards one of the other doors in the room, I pull open the door to be greeted by a luxurious, magnificently furnished bathroom, and my mouth is agape at the sight. Shuffling towards the large mirror sitting above the granite counter holding the sink, and stare at my reflection.

My hair is truly a rats nest with disheveled knots, loose strands stocking in countless directions, I immediately scowl at the sight. Makeup streams down my cheeks, and I am a complete, total mess. I have no clue why the man would consider me beautiful compared to the girls in my town who can be considered the embodiment of perfection- Also with me in the state I am.

Pulling my mass of hair away from my neck, I turn my head so my neck is angled towards the mirror and so I could examine the bite. Instead of seeing a typical bite on my neck, I am surprised to see a tattoo of sorts. My eyes widen, as I blink several times trying to comprehend if what I was seeing was real. It was a girl with a howling wolf overlapping it. How could this have happened?

After staring at it for several moments, I move my hair back over the 'tattoo' and shuffle through the drawers, and eventually find what I was looking for- a brush. Combing through my hair several times, I begin to look semi-presentable, and once I was happy with how my hair looked I put the brush back.

Looking at myself once more in the mirror, I pause for a moment when I realize my arms are bare. He must've taken my leather jacket off of me when I was unconscious. My eyes dart towards the scars that litter my wrists, and I feel my cheeks flush. He must have seen them.

I wasn't proud of the scars. During a dark moment in my life, I ended up thinking that cutting and eventually trying to take my life would be the answer. I had fallen unconscious from blood loss, and it had been several hours before my drunk father stumbled home and found me lying in a pool of my own blood. He had called 911 and they saved me from following the same path my mother had.

I sigh at the memory, and walk back into the bedroom in an attempt to find my jacket, for I didn't want to see my scars anymore. They were just a constant reminder of a time I was weak.

After a few minutes of looking, I eventually find it draped over a chair and I grab it before slipping it on. I go to sit back down on the bed, knowing that there was no way the man would leave the door unlocked. I mean, he wasn't stupid... Was he? Hesitantly getting up off the bed after a few moments I walk towards the door being as quiet as I could manage. Once I reached the door, I twisted the handle surprised by the fact there was no restraint in the action. He did leave it unlocked.

Pushing open the door, I take a step outside only to be met with a hallway that seems to go countless directions. This place is huge, it must be a mansion of sorts.

When I go to take one more step out almost instantly there is a grip on my wrist and I am pulled flush against a rock hard chest. Startled, I go to move away, but whoever was holding be just wrapped their arms around my torso and held me even closer. I look up to be met with a familiar pair of golden-brown eyes.

"Trying to escape Rose?" He whispers into my ear, and I feel his breath fanning my bite. I try to look away from him, but he simply grasps my chin forcing me to look him right in the eyes. I squirm under his gaze. Mute from fear, I say nothing, and look once more anywhere but him,

"I won't hurt you, I'd never dream of it, my love."

He unwraps his arms and spins me around. I let out a quick sigh of relief, thankful he let me go. Of course, I spoke too soon because it was only a moment later that he was pushing me against the nearest wall, and his arms were caging me in.

"Although, I wouldn't mind doing what I wanted with you," he smirks.

I was most certainly in trouble if this was heading where I thought it was. He moved closer to me, his body now almost flush against mine.

Did I forget to mention he was still naked?

A lovely new update for spike lovely people, sorry I made you all wait longer but I also have two other books to update and I do that every other day for each of them so it will usually be updated later.

But anyways hope you liked it, this also won't be the same as my other ones as I mentioned in the intro, it will be more natural and ruff not as human more wolf action, so my characters will also act differently and more forward. Also Royal Lycanthrope's are more bonded to the moon so therefor in full moons aren't able to control their wolves at all or the actions that the wolves do, that explains why Jasper's wolf marked rose on the full moon a stronger will to mark their mate.

Lol sorry for the rant ;)
