"Two guards will be stationed at guard your cottage for the whole day," Jasper says crossing his arms over his chest.
My jaw drops and I narrow my eyes at him, "what?! I don't need a babysitter."
"It's either that or you come to live with me," he says.
I grumble and shake my head. "It's settled then, you'll be protected this way." He wraps one strong arm around my waist and pulls me close. Because of my size my headrests right under his jaw.
I shift my head at an angle to look up at Jasper. He looks down at me a slow smile gracing his lips, his head lowers, and touches his lips to mine.
He pulls away and now a frown is etched onto his face.
"Just as I expected. The scent is still evident." He says.
My eyebrows knit together with confusion. "What do you mean?"
He sighs and runs a hand through his hair. "That vampire injected you with wolfsbane"
My jaw drops, "w-what?!"
Jasper nods solemnly "my guess is that since I marked you and my scent is now mixed with yours that you were a Werewolf, it's been a long time coming that we've had a feud for years and now it's only grown stronger. Because of you "
"Me?"
"Yas, they want you. Or they wanted you but since they believed you became a werewolf they thought it would be best to kill you off" he growls and pulls me closer to his chest.
"It's okay! I'm safe" I smile and kiss his cheek.
"So now we need to make sure they still believe that you're dead. They won't come after you if they think you are dead." He says his lips turning up at the sides slightly.
"So this wolfsbane they injected me with was meant to kill me because they believed I was a werewolf?" I ask, my brain still reeling with the possibility.
He nods a solemn look taking over his features, "the guards will keep you protected while I'm away, please for once just stay put and don't leave"
"But what about work?" I ask, it was extremely important since Liz was recovering I had to take care of the vet.
Jasper sighs and shakes his head, "I can't risk your safety by letting you out alone" he grabs me once again and starts rubbing circles along my arms.
I huff and push him away, I cross my arms and glare up at him, "fine!" I stomp my foot. I know I am acting childish but if I make him feel guilty enough he'll have to let me right?
"Just stay here for me? I can't lose you again, it would tear me apart" he says his eyes softening.
I roll my eyes and give in plastering a solid smile across my face, I nod and go to hug him. "I'll stay"
He kisses the top of my head and turns to leave, "I'll be back by evening"
I nod as he closes the door, I sigh and turn to enter my living room, I go over to the computer and turn on the screen heading to google and typing in werewolf, if I was going to be living in a world filled with them I needed to know about them.
I click the first link and it brings me to a page talking about the werewolf chain from top to bottom perfect! I scroll to the bottom of the page.
Rogue, The rogues are the werewolves that have either been kicked out of their old pack or their pack was destroyed. Some say they are bad wolves, some say some of them are nice. A wolf can also be a rogue if you were born packless.
My eyes widen, werewolf life isn't something you want to mess around with. I take a breath then scroll up to the next rank, omega, considered the pup of the pack, new to pack life. I scroll past the guards, elders, and healers since those sounded self-explanatory.
I scroll up to Delta and scan the paragraph underneath, They are the messengers of the pack, they go-between among the allies and sometimes even the axis. They risk their own lives by doing so, but it is their duty, and must make sure that those who need to know are told.
Gamma, Those holding this position are usually if not always the oldest and wisest of the pack. Through their stories and the phrases, they pass on to the others within the pack of their wisdom. So that are the grandparents of the pack the wisest they know all.
Beta, There maybe one or two in a pack, one of each gender. They may or may not be mates and are second in command. When neither alpha is around they take charge as it is the responsibility that falls to them.
Next is Alpha, this must be what Jasper is, Pride swells my heart as I read what being an alpha takes. But I don't miss the part where it says when the alpha finds his soulmate they become equals to parts of a whole. The Luna has just as much power as the Alpha and can also make decisions for herself and the pack.
A wide smirk takes over my face as I finish reading that paragraph, I close the laptop and grab my shoes slipping them on as well as a sweater, I swing the door open and walk out wondering where those guards were. I hear a growling sound behind me. I turn and gasp when I see two grey wolves eyeing me with curiosity.
"Alpha says you need to stay" a deep voice says from behind me.
I spin and eye the tall man in front of me, "and why do I have to listen to you?" I ask quizzically.
"Because the alpha said we are not to let you go," he says.
I laugh and roll my eyes, "well as your Luna you will do as I say and let me go to the clinic" I cross my arms over my chest.
The man's eyes widen and he is at loss for words.
"Let her go, she'll learn eventually to follow the Alpha's orders" A stronger voice says from behind me.
I turn to see the two grey wolves gone and in their place, two good looking silver haired people stand in front of me, one male and one female.
"Of course, Beta Avery and Emery" I stand back to see the tall man from before bowing.
Both beta's huh? Interesting.
"Okay, well I guess I'll be off then!" I call out as I walk away down the dirt road towards the clinic.
"You know you are really stubborn just as Alpha Jasper told us you were" a sweet feminine voice pops up beside me.
I glance over at the pretty silver-haired women, "um thanks?"
"I'm Emery, that's my brother Avery back there and Collin the lead guard of our pack," she holds out her hand, I take it. "Welcome to the family!" She smiles sweetly.
"Thanks, it doesn't feel like I belong though," I say truthfully.
"It won't for a long time, but you'll get used to it" she says.
I nod and keep walking, that's what I hope but I won't know until it actually comes true.

"We'll be out here if you need us" Emery calls after me, I nod and unlock the door walking inside. When inside I feed all the animals and let them out one by one into their small in closer out back soon enough they are all taken care of and my job for the day is done. And since it's beginning to get darker sooner I grab my sweater off the back of my chair and power off my computer, I stumble and grab onto my desk, my chest thumps and feels like a huge chunk was pulled out.
A loud banging sounds at the door upfront, I jump from fright then peer into the darkness wondering if that was Emery.
The door swings open and Collin rushes in his eyes darting around until they land on my cowering form.
"Luna we have to go!" He says grabbing my hand and hoisting me up to a standing position since I was hiding behind my desk.
"Where? What's going on? " I ask in a rushed tone knowing something must have happened to Jasper. The invisible string between us gets pulled and I feel my soul trying to reach out to his.
"I need to get you to the safety of your house " he pulls me outside. I pull my arm back and pull my sweater on the frigid night air nipping at my skin.
"We can't leave! Jasper is hurt somewhere" I cry out my heart racing with anticipation to find him.
A flash of pain shoots across Collin's face, "there's nothing you can do for him Luna, your just human it's impossible" Collin says.
I nod tears slipping down my cheek, I shake my head. "that won't stop me from helping him, I can't lose him"
I hear a gunshot sound from behind me in the distance, I wipe my head in that direction determination filling my core, I take a deep breath and take off in the direction of the gunshot. I hear Collin curse from behind me but before he had the chance to shift and run after me I am already halfway there.
My mind reels with the possibilities I shove them away and keep running, the same quote races through my mind if you have discipline, drive, and determination nothing is impossible.

We have reached over 100k!!!! Ahhh I can't believe that! It's amazing that one of my books could've passed even 50k let alone 100!
