Chapter 36 - A Leopard Changes it Spots

Asher's POV

I watch Kimmy slide down from the top hill on her florescent green snow tube one last time without me. I stood inside the glass building the park had on the side to keep warm and buy food. We were at Snow Day's Amusement Park where they had snow tubing, skiing, snowboarding, and all these other snow games and activities. As promised I brought Kimmy to our own snow date with the treat of her favorite hot coco at Starbucks. I had taken a quick break and ran inside the place, where they actually sold hot chocolate from Starbucks.

I shook the snow off my jacket and out of my hoodie setting it on the back of a wooden chair. I placed my gloves and hat on the table taking up the other seat cross mine. I looked back out the window looking for Kimmy. She was trying to get my attention by waving her hands frantically. I laugh waving back, motioning her to come in. I've been smiling like the Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland for the past week. I have been happier this past week then I've been my whole life! I'm glad we finally sucked up and told each other our feelings. I think it was better for the both of us.

"Did you see me? I think I caught air that last time, I felt like I was flying!" She screeches shaking the snow out of her hair.

"'I saw, that was so awesome." I laugh watching the smile stretch on her face.

"Did you get me my hot chocolate yet?" she asked sweetly, sitting across from me. On cue the waitress comes in placing two cups on the table in front of us. I was aware that the waitress said something but I was too busy paying attention to the gorgeous looking person in front of me.

"Wow," She smiles, tracing her finger over the rim of her cup, "you didn't even bat an eye at that girl."

"Who?" I ask, taking the first sip of my very hot chocolate.

"The waitress. She was totally checking you out." She says as a matter-of-fact.

"Doesn't concern me." I say with a shrug. She mumbled what I said under her breath, a puzzled look on her face.

"Hm? Well I got to go, I'm supposed to go meet my friend Asher for some hot chocolate." She jokes around, slowly getting up from her seat.

I roll my eyes, cracking a smile, "Well he's a lucky guy to have your company." I chuckle, playing along with her.

"Oh I know." She teases, tossing her hair over her shoulder, "So bizarre really, you look just like him."

"Really?" I gawk, leaning forward on the table.

"Really." She says last, sitting back down in her seat.

"You're so weird." I laugh playfully joking with her.

"Then you would be equally as weird for hanging out with me." She retorts, sipping her hot chocolate.

"OK, OK. I think I can live with that." I tell her.

"So, what time is it now?" She grins, twirling her hair around her index finger.

I take my phone out from my jacket pocket, telling her "Almost five. Want to head out?"

"And do what?" She pouts and sulks back in her chair.

"I don't know. I bet there's some New Year's Eve party somewhere, being thrown at someone's house." I shrug not thinking of anything better.

"I'm not in the mood for another party." She frowns. She's not a big party person either, so I'm not surprised she turned the idea down, "I got a better idea." She says, her frown instantly turned back into a pretty smile, "Lets hang out at your house!"

"No." I moan, throwing my head back whining, "It's game night." I say in disgusted bitter tone, "That's why I want to get out."

"That's perfect! I love your family game nights. Your dad and I make a great team for charades!" She claps her hands, excitement glistening in her eyes.

"Exactly! You guys are no fun playing games with." I frown, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Aw come on. Please for me!" She begs cutely, batting her eyelashes. She knew I couldn't resist her smoldering look.

"I do so much for you." I mumble to her, shaking my head, "So what do I get in return?"

"A guarantee for another date." She smirks. I laugh at her. Like this date couldn't have gone any better. It wasn't like I was worried that I wouldn't get another. Of course I would ask her on another date, and of course she wouldn't decline my offer. "Since, technically, we shouldn't call this a date." She mumbles quietly as if telling me a secret. Not like anybody else around knew.

"Wow I'm so scared that this would be our last date." I say sarcastically.

"Fine. Then if you don't play, then you're not allowed to sleep in my bed for two months." She threatened instead, trying too hard to hold back a smile.

"What? Two months! If I don't play a game with my family?" I said, maybe sounding a bit over reacted.

"We can make it until the end of the school year." She stretched on. I wasn't that worried, I just wanted to have a little fun with her and play along.

I smirk shaking my head, "Fine. You win, this round." I tell her in the most sarcastic manner, rolling my eyes and chuckling softly, "Next time I'm going to get you-"

"Yeah, yeah, talk all you want. You know I'll always win." She giggles, taking her mug into her hands and taking small sips from it.

"So you really want me to play this game, huh?" I inquire, taking a sip of my own after blowing at it to cool it down. Not that it did much anyways.

"Yes. Very much. Maybe Scott and I will allow you to play on our team." She says teasingly.

"Oh you'll allow me." I laugh, shaking my head at her.

"Yeah, maybe." She smiles biting her lip as she played with our hands on the table.

"Have you guys reconsidered to order something?" Some tiny girl about our age came up with a little black notepad and pen asking. I could tell what Kimmy meant about her being gorgeous. She was OK looking, but nothing compared to Kimmy's real beauty. This girl has short reddish brown pixie cut with a lot of make up on.

"You're good, right babe?" I asked looking over to Kimmy.

"I'm good. Still drinking my cup of coco." She states, reaching over to look down at her cup.

"What about you?" The waitress flirts with a developing smile on her face as she bit playfully on the top of her pen.

"I'm all set. Ready to go have game night with my family, babe?" I say loud and clearly to Kimmy, for some reason really wanted to make this girl uncomfortable just a little bit.

"Born ready, Ash." I could sense that she was picking up on my game because she played along very well. She stretched over the table kissing me on the lips tenderly. I heard the girl groan and then sensed her walking away. "I think we succeeded." She pulled back whispering against my lips.

"Nah, I don't think she got the message." I laugh kissing her again. I pulled my head back over forcing her lips to open and deepen the kiss, a small moan building in the back of her throat.

My phone vibrated on the table breaking us from our perfect kiss. I groaned quietly looking at the screen reading: Mom.

"Hey Mom." I uttered blandly. I looked over to Kimmy apologetically as she just shrugged, leaning back on her chair and sipping her hot chocolate.

"Hey sweetie, are you coming home? It's family game night." She say more than happily through the phone. I could hear her scrambling with some game boxes, the pieces sliding from one side of the box to the other.

"Yeah mom I-"

"Mommy, tell Ashy to bring Kimmy!" I heard Bay shout.

"Yeah, I want her to be on my team! Girl vs boys!" Shay shouts after.

I hear my mother laugh mumbling something to them, "Hey Asher-"

"Yeah I heard them mom." I chuckle, looking at Kimmy across the table and rolling my eyes, "We'll be home in an hour or so."

"All right. Drive safe." She says as always

I respond back with the same answer as I always do, "I will. Bye."

I threw my phone on the table top, reaching in my pocket to throw some money on the table, "We leaving now?"

"Yep. When I was on the phone with my mom Shay and Bay were already yelling for me to bring you." I snicker, shrugging on my jacket.

"Aw, they're so cute." She coos, wrapping a thick, knitted scarf around her neck. I noticed she still had on the necklace I gave her for Christmas. She hasn't taken it off since.

"You're still wearing the necklace I gave you." I mention, pointing to it around her neck.

"I told you I'm never going to take it off. I love it too much." She reminds me again, putting on her jacket.

"Glad you like it." I say pecking her lips with mine. I tug on her hand to the front exit door moving along quickly. Just as we got to the door I crashed into someone, a pretty blond with snowflakes in her hair.

"Oh, so sorry." I apologize trying to get around her.

"It's OK, hun. What's your name?" She said charmingly.

"Oh, it's um, Nun Ya." I said, looking over to Kimmy humorously.

"Yeah, none of ya business." Kimmy laughs, leaning into my arm and pushing me out the door so that we could leave the strange girl behind. Walking quickly to the car Kimmy is still laughing her ass off with a dazzling smile on her face.

"I can't believe we said that to her!" She continues laughing.

"So what?" I shrug opening the car door for her.

"You could have totally got her number!" She figures, shaking her head.

"And why would I need her number?" I say scrunching up my nose. I start the car and cranked the heat up getting rid of some of the cold, frigged air.

"The same reason you got that girls number at Pizza Hut." She giggles looking out the window.

"You mean last October when we weren't dating and I was still a free man." I chuckle turning to go on the high way.

"It's hard to get my head wrapped around that." She snickers lightly, "I'm always used to you picking up girls where ever we go." She questioned. I looked over to the side watching me carefully.

"Yep, you're going to have to get used to the fact that you're all mine." I tease, glancing to her quickly then back to the road. During that quick glance though I noticed a slightly different look on her face

"Not all just yours yet... technically." I heard her whisper to herself. She looks to the window biting her lip, looking a little worried.

Right, not all mine; yet.
