Gu Nantian stretched out his hand and gently brushed the few strands of hair on her cheek aside. “I can fork out this little money for my employee.”

Xu Zhiyin smiled. “Even if I work for you, I can’t take so much of your money.”

The collectables here ranged from several million dollars to tens of million dollars. She didn’t do much in his house, how much could she take from him?

Even if Gu Nantian was willing to give her, she was unwilling to accept.

Gu Nantian’s deep voice sounded beside her ears. “You’re my wife. Everything I have is yours too, but you are Ji Liunian’s ex-wife, why are you so poor?”

“Yes, I’m this poor!” Xu Zhiyin raised her head. “I’m not you.”

Gu Nantian laughed. “I’ll pay for today’s auction item.”

“I can’t repay you.” She didn’t know how long she could earn this much money.

Xu Zhiyin did not reject but she knew she could not take his money.

She looked at the antiques and found the price to be high. She didn’t plan to buy any of them. She would go to another shop to get something else later!

“Liunian, I think this is quite good. I think Uncle Ji will like it.” Not far from where they were sitting, came a familiar voice. Xu Zhiyin froze.

How could there be such a coincidence?

This voice obviously belonged to Chuxia.

She turned around and saw Chuxia sitting beside Ji Liunian. Both of them looked intimate.

Both of them didn’t notice Xu Zhiyin.

Such a scene made Xu Zhiyin feel sick because in the past, she was the one who would prepare a birthday present for Mr. Ji with Ji Liunian every year on his birthday.

Ji Liunian looked at the item Chuxia mentioned. “Yes, I quite like it.”

Xu Zhiyin turned back silently and continued browsing through the catalog.

Most of the people attending the auction knew Ji Liunian and would not fight with him for the item.

However, Gu Nantian who was sitting next to Xu Zhiyin, was interested in this vase. Qiao bid a good price.

Xu Zhiyin looked at him. “You don’t like this, why did you bid for it?”

“It’s for you.” Gu Nantian replied, “I think this vase is quite a good gift.”

He had long noticed Ji Liunian’s presence and sensed how unnatural Xu Zhiyin was.

With her personality, she wouldn’t ask from him but he would give her whatever she wanted without her asking.

He would never be stingy for her.

This was probably the greatest limitation if a man loved a woman!

Due to Gu Nantian’s bid, Ji Liunian and Chuxia finally noticed that Xu Zhiyin was also present at the auction hall.

Chuxia laughed and teased Ji Liunian, “It’s Zhiyin. She seems to be challenging you on purpose.”

Ji Liunian sat where he was but his vision was on Xu Zhiyin and Gu Nantian. From his angle, Xu Zhiyin and Gu Nantian looked intimate. His heart started feeling sick.

The jealousy within him was working. Ji Liunian raised the price.

Six million dollars was actually quite a good price. Although Ji Liunian was a rich man’s son and his family was wealthy, he had a stable personality. He would never spend on areas he should not spend on but…today, he was acting rashly out of anger. He bid a high price, unwilling to lose to Gu Nantian.

Qiao asked, “Master, do we still continue?”

“Of course.” He wouldn’t lose to Ji Liunian in front of Xu Zhiyin. Both this vase and Xu Zhiyin would belong to him.

Chuxia sat by one side and could see that Gu Nantian was unwilling to show weakness. So, she said, “Liunian, let’s not continue. Let’s buy something else. Anyway, Zhiyin is buying a birthday gift for Uncle Ji too. We don’t have to spend money recklessly here.”

Ji Liunian’s eyes were fixed in the direction Xu Zhiyin was sitting and did not take in Chuxia’s words.

The two rich masters raised the price higher and higher and when everyone in the hall was shocked at their boldness, Xu Zhiyin stopped Gu Nantian. “Gu Nantian, let’s stop! The price is too high!”

She thought it was worth it since they had made Ji Liunian spend so much money. The grievance in her chest had subsided.

Moreover, the price had raised so high she felt guilty.

Gu Nantian stared at the price which had long exceeded eight figures. He said, “It’s rare that you take fancy to something. I’ll satisfy you.”

“How do you know I take fancy to this vase?” Although she didn’t tell Gu Nantian, she indeed had the intention to get the vase.

She was narrow-minded and couldn’t bear to see the two of them being intimate.

Gu Nantian looked at her and as if able to see through her heart, he said, “I know what you’re thinking.”

“But, this vase is not that good and is not worth this price.”

Gu Nantian looked at Xu Zhiyin with gentle eyes. He held her chin with one hand and planted a gentle kiss on her forehead. “Even if you throw it away, you shouldn’t turn it over to people who make you unhappy.”

“…Gu Nantian.” Xu Zhiyin looked at him unexpectedly and felt that her heart did not belong to her now.
