Gu Nantian looked at her and laughed suddenly. “Why? Can’t bear to part with me?”

“Goodbye then.” Xu Zhiyin opened the door anxiously, afraid Gu Nantian would regret.

The next morning, Xu Zhiyin woke up at about eight and heard her mother nagging. “Tomorrow is your father-in-law’s birthday. Go get him a present!”

This was an opportunity to draw Xu Zhiyin closer to Ji Liunian, so Madam Xu took it seriously.

Xu Zhiyin was unwilling to have any connection with the Ji family now, “Mother, can you go on my behalf? I don’t wish to go.”

Xu Zhiyin switched her bag from one shoulder to another and walked toward Gu Nantian. “So early?”

Gu Nantian saw her walking toward him. “I’m very happy to see you walk toward me.”

Qiao chimed in, “Master woke up at about five today.”

Xu Zhiyin looked at him. “Why not sleep a little longer?”

When she was at Gu Mansion, he woke up pretty late.

“I wanted to see you earlier.” Gu Nantian looked at her. He wanted to give Xu Zhiyin some time to cool down but had accidentally found that it wasn’t bad to stay apart and meet in this manner.

If she was at Gu Mansion, he could appear by her side any time when he wanted to see her but after she left, he missed her very dearly.

Xu Zhiyin looked at his hand on hers. “Do you really love me so deeply?”

Gu Nantian nodded. “I can deceive anyone but you.”

Just then, the waiter served their breakfast. Xu Zhiyin shoved the milk to Gu Nantian, “Let’s eat! After this, I’d like to go shopping to buy things.”

“Last night…”

Xu Zhiyin pushed the breakfast in front of him and interrupted his apology. “I’m not angry anymore.”

She thought about it the whole night and felt she was in the wrong too.

She had wished to escape from Gu Nantian and that caused many bad decisions. However, Gu Nantian treated her very nicely and she knew she couldn’t find another man in this world who would treat her so well.

“Good.” Gu Nantian had been worrying about it the whole night.

He could turn into any kind of person but would definitely not become a person who hurt her.

During breakfast, Xu Zhiyin caught up with Gu Nantian’s latest conditions. Qiao looked on silently. Watching the patch up of Gu Nantian and Xu Zhiyin, he was the happiest person. Without Xu Zhiyin, Gu Nantian would turn into a stranger.

Breakfast lasted for more than an hour. When it was about ten, Xu Zhiyin walked out of the restaurant. Gu Nantian trailed behind her. Xu Zhiyin stopped and said, “If you still have other things to attend to, you don’t have to accompany me. I can go get the things myself.”

Gu Nantian walked beside her. “What do you want to buy? I’ll accompany you.”

“I’m getting a birthday present for an elder I know.” Xu Zhiyin didn’t want Gu Nantian to accompany her. He was too eye-catching.

“An elderly’s birthday…” Gu Nantian looked at her, “Ji Liunian’s father?”

“How did you know?”

Xu Zhiyin remembered that Gu Nantian didn’t like Ji Liunian, she added, “He’s a senior and I have to attend. I hope you’re not unhappy because of this.”

She was not concerned about him. She was afraid of him! It was merely fear!

Coming down from the car, Xu Zhiyin walked beside Gu Nantian and they went into the hotel. Qiao brought them here because there was an auction for antiques and one of Mr. Ji’s interest was collecting antiques. Qiao told her that if she wanted to pick a birthday present for Mr. Ji, it would be good to come here.

Xu Zhiyin looked at Qiao. “You know Uncle Ji quite well.”

Qiao smiled. “Mr. Ji is a dominant figure. Of course, I’ll pay attention to his likes and dislikes.”

Especially so when he was the Gu family’s greatest competitor.

When they arrived, Xu Zhiyin sat down with Gu Nantian. Very quickly, someone gave them the catalog of all the collections for today’s auction.
