Chapter 14: Chapter 14

I was going back to New York today. I had to talk to Jaxon. I didn’t really mean that I hate him. Yesterday he had just left and dad? Well dad was a little curious on why Jaxon had broken his whole office.

“Hi” I turned around to see Aoife Jaxon’s sister standing there.

“Oh hey” I said and followed her to the car. I put my bag inside the car and sat inside.

“How come you came to pick me up?” I asked as she started driving.

“Jaxon is busy” she mumbled and I nodded

“How old are you? I mean everyone says your older than Jaxon right?” I asked and she nodded

“Yeah I am. I’m 25 years old. 4 years older than Jaxon.” She said and I nodded

After 10 minutes we got to the pack house and I followed Aoife inside.

“You can go straight inside. I’ll be in the kitchen” she said and I nodded.

I walked inside Jaxon’s office, to see another girl talking to him.

“Cherry? I’ll talk to you later Jasmine” Jaxon said and the girl nodded and walked out

“Jaxon. What happened yesterday? And don’t lie to me” I said closing the door behind me

“I don’t want to talk about it cherry. Is there a reason why you are here?” He asked and I scoffed

“Oh so I need a reason to come here? Okay. You carry on doing your work. I’ll be in the kitchen” I said and walked out the office.

I walked out the pack house just to run into a little girl.

“Luna. Oh I’m sorry luna” she said lowering her head and I shook my head

“It’s okay. Carry on” I mumbled and she nodded and ran inside. I walked outside to see a few people walking around.

“Do you need help luna?” Someone asked walking towards me

“Erm yes please. Do you have another library here? I know the one upstairs but is there another one?” I asked and the guy nodded

“Yes luna. Would you like me to show you?” He asked and I nodded and started following him to another small house.

“This is a school. For all werewolfs” the guy said and I nodded

“What’s your name?” I asked following him upstairs.

“Adam, luna” he said opening the door to a small library

“Do they have any historical books. About werewolfs, vampires or maybe hybrids?” I asked and he nodded

“Yes luna. They are right at the back. Will you like me to stay?” He asked and I shook my head walking to the back.

“No thank you Adam. Thanks for showing me around” I said and he nodded and closed the door.

I went to the back, and found a small bookshelf with a label, historical books

I looked for a hybrid book and found a couple.

The life of a hybrid seemed like a really good book. I took it and sat down on a table. This library was empty as well.

" the life of a hybrid is different from the life of a werewolf or a vampire. A hybrid is a mixture of a werewolf and a vampire. Long ago there were many hybrids but they became greedy and the elements killed them all.

But after 100 years there was another hybrid born. The moon goddess chose a vampire and werewolf as mates. They had a second child which is a hybrid. It is said that the hybrid is hard to kill. The supernatural council have mentioned and stated that the hybrid is not bad. The hybrid will not become greedy because he is alone. The moon goddess has said that the hybrid will help everyone in the end.” I read

“So he is going to help me” I mumbled and carried on reading

“The hybrid will either choose one form to stay in. Werewolf or a vampire. It maybe hard to find the hybrid, especially because they have had a lot of years in practice to control one of their spirit. They will have blocked their scent of one of them. To find a hybrid maybe hard for some. A sign of a hybrid, is getting really angry. The hybrid may not be able to control their inner spirit and they will lash out. It will be hard to control them. The end” I closed the book.

It did help me but anyone can get angry. And lash out. Jaxon lashed out yesterday but it doesn’t mean that he is a hybrid. And dad, he gets angry quickly as well. But it’s just because they’re alpha’s.

I stood up just as the door opened and Jaxon walked in.

“Cherry” he said and I rolled my eyes and turned around.

I put the book back in the bookshelf and picked another one that said Warlock.

“I’m sorry cherry” Jaxon mumbled right behind me. He wrapped his arms around me and put his chin on my shoulder.

“I’m sorry about yesterday. I’m sorry for not picking you up” he mumbled and I shrugged and turned around in his arms.

“I’ll forgive you if you read this to me” I said and he nodded and took the book out of my hand.

“Warlocks. Special addition” he read the tittle and let me go

“Come on”he said and pulled me to the table and we both sat down.

“Warlocks. Warlocks are very similar to wizards and witches. They know how to do magic. More powerful than any other sorcerer. Warlocks are cable of doing any type of magic, including black magic.

Warlocks have been around for centuries. They are very hard to kill. A special warlock, who has lived for centuries, will be very hard to kill. They know magic like the back of their hand. To kill a warlock is hard and easy.

It is hard because they have more experience, more powers. They can make illusions and use their power to its fullest.

Killing a Warlock is also easy. But only for the Air element. If the air element has mastered its powers, it will be able to defeat the warlock, only by using all of its powers together. It may become dangerous for the air element to use all of its powers together, but to defeat the Warlock, the air element needs to master all the powers to beat the Warlock” Jaxon finished reading.

“So I know how to control the weather. Kind of. And all I need to learn is smart Alec and mind reading” I said and Jaxon nodded

" Cherry Do you want to practise now?” He asked and I nodded

“Reading minds” I said and Jaxon nodded

“Okay. Try to read my mind” he said and I nodded

“But how?” I asked and he shrugged

“If you think about it and concentrate. It should work” he said and I nodded

I closed my eyes and thought about reading Jaxon’s mind. Hard.

“Can’t you be thinking about something else?” I said opening my eyes

“Did it work?” He asked and I nodded

“Yep. You were thinking ‘I like you’ ” I said and he nodded

“Okay. That’s good. Now try Smart Alec. It did mention in a book that I read about powers, that you have to concentrate really hard. And touch the person” he said standing up

“Okay. So where are you going?” I asked standing up

“To go and get you someone to try on. Follow me” he said walking out of the library.

“I can try on you Jaxon” I said and he shook his head.

“I think it might be hard to try on a Alpha. You should try on Kyle” he said just as we saw kyle walking past us.

“Erm okay” I mumbled as kyle stopped and turned to us.

“Do you need me Jaxon?” Kyle asked and he nodded

“Yeah. Is it okay if cherry practices her power on you?” Jaxon asked as we went to his office and Kyle closed the door behind him.

“Cherry? Power? Is this about the email that Alpha Damien sent out yesterday?” Kyle asked and I nodded

“Yep. May I?” I asked and he nodded

“Of course luna” he said and I shook my head

“Beth. If you Jaxon’s friend your mine as well right? Sorry about how we met. I didn’t know that you would go all wolf on me and-”

“What!” Jaxon growled

“Jaxon I didn’t mean it like that. When we first met I talked bad about you. I called you stupid and a asshole. And you are these lots alpha so he started growling at me. But I was disrespecting their alpha. So he kind of had to” I answered holding Jaxon’s hand so he won’t attack kyle.

“Kyle you sit down and Jaxon you sit down in your own seat” I said and Jaxon smiled at me and nodded.

He moved behind the desk and sat down, and Kyle sat down on the sofa. I sat down next to kyle but didn’t touch him yet.

“I’m going to try a power called smart Alec. I will see your past, present and a glimpse of your future. Do you trust me to do this?” I asked and he nodded

“Of course lu--beth” he said.

He lifted his hand up and showed me his palm. I put my hand over his and closed my eyes.

I thought about knowing kyle’s past, present and future. But it didn’t work.

“It’s not working” I mumbled and opened my eyes.

“Try again cherry. Don’t give up” Jaxon said and I nodded

I closed my eyes and concentrated really hard about kyle. Just then flashes back into my mind and I smiled slightly but then frowned

Flashes of Kyle seeing his mate, them kissing, her rejecting him? And then I saw flashes of us sitting together right now. And Kyle getting married to a girl?

“Cherry?” I heard Jaxon say before I blanked out.
