Chapter 624
Love After Divorce by BELLA
Chapter 622:
One had to know that Ruben had been coveting Emily for a long time. She was afraid that Emily would be consumed by him.
Stella was telling the truth: not only had Emily been consumed by Ruben, but he had also taken everything.
Emily closed her eyes and told herself not to look at Rubenâs face. Otherwise, she wouldnât be able to help but ruin his expression.
Looking at Emilyâs little face, Ruben smiled and gently bent down to put her into the bathtub. Then he climbed in as well.
Fortunately, the bathtub in Edwardâs house was big enough.
Emily now wanted to break the connection that had formed with Ruben. If it werenât for her lack of strength, she would have certainly wanted to do it.
Stella thought about it for a while and decided to call Emily; otherwise, she wouldnât be at ease.
The phone rang for a long time, but no one answered. Stella prayed in her heart that the call would be answered quickly.
Perhaps Stellaâs prayer was effective; someone finally picked up, but it wasnât Emily.
âSister-in-law, what can I do for you?â Ruben looked at the bath towel in his hand and thought of Emily, and the corners of his mouth unconsciously curled up.
âRuben!â Stella couldnât believe it was his voice. She took her phone away and looked at it, only to find that she had dialed the right number.
Stella didnât speak, and neither did Ruben. He was waiting for her to speak first.
âDid you eat Emily?â Stella was indeed very curious now, so she asked subconsciously. She forgot that RK was not the only one beside her; Adrian was there too.
âSister-in-law, youâre right.â After saying that, Ruben hung up the phone. He still remembered that Emily was soaking in the water.
After Ruben hung up, Stella was still in a daze. She hadnât expected that Ruben would be so bold with Emily.
RK didnât seem surprised at all, as if he had already known about it.
â± â¶âµáº¸Å⸠â¡á¸¤â³â±â¸ÉⱤŠⱻ gí¶lnovÑlí .íá´m Adrian looked at Stella and RK, unsure if he should ask about how his uncle had eaten Emily.
RK rubbed Adrianâs hair and smiled at Stella, feeling that Ruben had done the best thing he had ever done.
He watched as Ruben chased after Emily every day and couldnât catch up to her. He wanted to tell Ruben that it was fine if he went after Emily; it seemed that Ruben would figure it out on his own without him saying anything. Not bad, it was worthy of praise.
Stella looked at RKâs expression and knew that he must be thinking about something mischievous.
Seeing RKâs sly smile, Stella subconsciously sat back down, feeling a very bad premonition in her heart. She sensed that RK was certainly scheming against her.
If RK had known what Stella was thinking, he would have praised her for guessing half of it right. After all, RK didnât think it was a scheme; he just wanted their family to reunite faster.
When Ruben returned to the bathroom, he saw Emily sleeping in the bathtub because she was too tired.
Ruben gently picked Emily up, and she cooperated by putting her arms around his neck.
Ruben covered Emily with a bath towel and carried her out of the bathroom. He gently placed her on the bed and used a dry towel to wipe her hair, which was still dripping with water. He tucked her in, kissed her on the forehead gently, and went out.
When Ruben arrived in the living room, Stella was already sitting there, watching him walk down the stairs with a very unfriendly gaze.
âSister-in-law, about what happened between us, we can talk about it later. I will make some porridge for Emily first.â Ruben went downstairs, asked where the kitchen was, and rushed in immediately. He didnât want to stay and listen to Stellaâs questions.
âDoes your brother know how to cook?â Stella looked at RK and asked curiously, forgetting that this was not the main point.
âI donât know.â RK answered Stellaâs question with three words. Stella had a look of disbelief on her face but had no choice but to believe it. It was true that RK didnât know.
He usually chatted with Ruben through video calls or phone calls. Other than living together at home, they hadnât seen each other for the rest of the time. Ruben didnât need to cook at home, so RK had no clue.
âDarling, do you think Godmother has become Big Aunt?â Adrian looked at Stella curiously and wanted to know the answer.
âWhen you see your godmother, you can ask her.â Sometimes, Stella didnât know how to answer Adrianâs questions. Every time he asked, it caught her off guard. It wasnât that she didnât know how to answer; it was just that she needed time.
Adrian looked at Stella and realized it was useless to ask her, so he turned his head to look at RK, who also shook his head, indicating that he didnât know. Besides, he didnât care about Ruben; he was focused on making Stella happy.
Adrian pursed his lips and said, âWell, since they didnât tell me, I can only wait for Uncle to ask him when he has time. Why not ask Emily? Because he doesnât want to be abused by her.â
After cooking the porridge, Ruben carried it upstairs, ignoring the three people sitting on the sofa. Right now, he could only think about Emily.
