Chapter 598
Love After Divorce by BELLA
Chapter 596:
Adrien knew Stella was frightened, but the hot spring wasnât very deep, so he didnât understand why Stella wouldnât come down.
She shook her head and sat still, soaking her feet in the water. âAll right.â
Adrian looked at Stella with disappointment before stepping aside. RK approached Stella. âCome down. The water is very shallow.â
RK understood why Stella was hesitant. He wanted her to overcome her fear. Even if she didnât learn how to swim, she shouldnât be afraid of the hot spring.
Stella continued to shake her head, frightened by memories of what had happened last year, especially when she saw Adrien.
She recalled falling into the sea while pregnant with Adrian.
RK, seeing her refusal, was determined to encourage her. âI will hold you. Donât be afraid. Come down,â he urged, refusing to give up.
Emily observed from a distance, aware of Stellaâs fear of water but confident that it wasnât deep. She could stand and let the water reach her shoulders.
When Stella noticed Emily approaching, she mustered her courage and slowly supported herself, reaching out to RKâs hand as she came down. As she realized it wasnât that deep, she felt less scared.
Meanwhile, Ruben had been staring at Emily, puzzled by her indifference. He thought that even with his sudden confession, she shouldnât ignore him.
Emily sensed Rubenâs gaze but pretended not to notice as she swam back and forth. Finally, Ruben decided to approach her.
Emily felt Rubenâs presence and prepared to swim away; however, she was not as fast as he was, and he caught her.
âLet go!â Emily pleaded, avoiding his gaze. She spoke slowly, but Ruben didnât listen. He held Emilyâs hand firmly and looked at her.
Under Rubenâs intense stare, Emily felt uncomfortable and tried her best to break free from his grip.
Ruben continued to look at Emily, and in the end, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her.

Suddenly, Ruben felt pain and instinctively released Emily. She pushed him away and quickly fled.
Ruben raised his hand, touching his lips and observing the blood on his fingers. He smiled helplessly.
Adrian stood in shock, having witnessed the entire scene. When Ruben glanced over, Adrian gave him a thumbs-up. His uncle was impressive! After all, his godmother, Emily, was quite a challenge!
Stella and RK also saw what Ruben did, but Stella was mostly concerned about Emily. She knew that if she approached her now, Emily would likely shut her out.
RK thought his brother wasnât doing badly; soon, Adrianâs godmother would likely become his Eldest Aunt.
Tristan had seen Alice leave several times without stopping her. He followed her each time, worried that something might happen.
Tristan didnât know who Alice was looking for that day. Suddenly, she stood up from the chair and shouted, âSeventeen!â
Tristan guessed that âSeventeenâ was either the name of someone special or the person Alice cared about.
He hadnât expected Alice to find him in the country after searching for so long abroad. He was unsure if this was a good or bad thing.
However, upon seeing Alice rise from the wheelchair, Tristan rushed over to support her, fearing she might fall. But Alice managed to stand, which might indicate a positive turn. âTristan, I saw him, but he ignored me no matter how I called him,â she said.
The figure she sought had vanished, and Alice cried in Tristanâs arms.
Tristan gently patted Aliceâs back, unsure of what to say to comfort her.
Seventeen turned his head, as if vaguely hearing someone calling him, but he found no one around after a long moment.
He turned back, convinced he must have misheard, thinking that no one had called him.
To be honest, the reason he had promised RK was that he no longer wanted to wander aimlessly.
He had lost a memory that felt vital, yet he couldnât recall it. Thus, he had come here to recover that lost memory.
âEmily, open the door!â Ruben knocked persistently, determined to get an answer from Emily that day.
Emily lay quietly, listening to the knocks from outside, but she didnât respond as if she were invisible.
When Stella passed by Emilyâs room, she glanced at Ruben, who was still knocking at the door. Then, she returned to her room, pretending not to have seen anything.
Adrian had been staying with RK for two days, and Stella didnât think much of it. After such a long time, she was no longer as scared as she had been initially and didnât want Adrian to sleep with her.
Stella returned to her room without turning on the light. She walked slowly to the window, gazing at the scenery outside while humming a tune. Unbeknownst to her, RK was hidden in the shadows, watching her quietly.
RK noted that Stella had recovered, but he wondered why she felt the need to keep it from them.
He chose not to disturb her, simply observing her in silence.
