Chapter 423
Love After Divorce by BELLA
Chapter 423:
Carson laughed and began to rub Violetâs head. âAlright, I will serve you all the time. How about you serve me when I am old?â
Violet was moved by Carsonâs words. Imagining them leaning against each other in their old age, she couldnât help but respond with red eyes, âYou have to keep your word. Just donât complain when the time comes that I have to serve you.â
âHaha, then can you serve me now?â Looking at Violetâs expression, Carson couldnât resist teasing her.
âHey!â Violet was taken aback by Carsonâs sudden change of mind.
When she realized it, her face flushed with anger. She shouted at Carson, âDream on! You have to serve me first. Hurry up; Iâm hungry. Order me something!â
RK told Stella that he wanted to invite her to the Dukeâs Mansion for dinner that night. However, every word he spoke indicated that he wouldnât allow Stella to refuse. She had no choice but to agree. RK arranged for dinner at a restaurant that was said to have once been the mansion of a high-ranking official.
The mansion had endured much over the centuries, but the family who owned it was gradually declining. In this generation, they had no choice but to sell their properties, which were then purchased at a high price by the current owner.
After renovations, they opened the doors to welcome guests, and many dignitaries and high-ranking officials frequently visited. It had clearly become a prime location for people in the city to spend extravagantly.
The patrons of the Dukeâs Mansion were all individuals of good taste. When Stella arrived by taxi, the ordinary clothes of the people contrasted starkly with the luxurious decor of the mansion.
Stella encouraged herself. âItâs just a meal. Itâs not a big deal. Will RK eat me up?â With that thought in mind, she walked up the stone steps.
As Stella approached the door, just as she was about to sneak in with her bag, the doorman politely stopped her and said, âMiss, only distinguished guests are allowed to enter.â The doormanâs words were so courteous that no one could find fault with them.
However, it was clear that he looked down on Stella.
Accustomed to seeing wealthy patrons, the doorman had a discerning eye. He could tell the price of the clothes someone was wearing at a glance. If the price was too low, he naturally would not let them in.
LλtÑÑÏ ÑhαÏÏÑrÑ Î¹n gíªlɳovÑls.í¬í¼íº If someone were allowed to enter so casually, it would inevitably draw laughter at a place like the Dukeâs Mansion.
Stella took a deep breath. She was not oblivious to how others perceived her. The doormanâs disdainful look made it difficult for her to ignore him.
If she could help it, why would she even consider coming to such a place? It was hard for her to even afford a cup of tea there.
Standing there, she felt humiliated by the doorman for no reason.
Stella forced an awkward smile at him before turning to leave.
RK walked out of the revolving door right on time. He glanced at the doorman and saw Stella, who was about to leave in embarrassment. RK could roughly guess what had transpired.
The doormanâs expression changed dramatically upon noticing RK. He nodded and bowed. âMr. Kingston.â
RK felt even more disgusted by the doormanâs reaction. He smiled at Stella, who was standing beside him, and asked knowingly, âWhy donât you go in?â
Stella responded sarcastically, showing no respect for RK as she stated the facts, âSomeone stopped me from going in.â
âOh? Who is it? Ask him to call the lobby manager over.â Stella was a bit impatient, but unable to decipher RKâs intentions, she obediently cooperated. She casually pointed at the doorman. âDid you hear that? Why donât you call the lobby manager over?â
The doorman was taken aback by their conversation. It was clear that the woman was close to RK. RK had always been surrounded by attractive women...
The doorman had heard that RK was very generous to women. Why was this woman so special?
With a bitter expression on his face, the doorman reluctantly made a beeline for the lobby manager. If RK complained about him, he would have a hard time in the Dukeâs Mansion moving forward.
The doorman approached the lobby manager but did not take the matter seriously at all; instead, he flirted with the waitress.
When the lobby manager heard that it was RK who was standing at the entrance and was unhappy because the doorman had stopped a woman dressed in plain clothes, his expression turned cold. He glared at the doorman.
The lobby managerâs heart raced with fear. He patted the doormanâs head, pointed at him, and was so furious that he struggled to speak. He stomped his feet and rushed to the entrance.
The doorman followed behind, feeling wronged. He had merely acted according to the arrangements, faithfully and responsibly.
Did he do anything wrong? It was evident that the doorman did not grasp the seriousness of the situation.
The lobby manager reached the door, out of breath, and bowed repeatedly to apologize. The doorman stood beside him, looking around furtively.
RKâs face was expressionless, making it impossible for the lobby manager to gauge the extent of RKâs dissatisfaction. Then he glanced at Stella, who was bored and looking at the building in front of her, showing no interest in him.
Next, he looked at the doorman. The doorman remained standing there. Disappointed, the lobby manager kicked the doormanâs butt, causing the latter to cry out in pain.
