Chapter 285
Love After Divorce by BELLA
Chapter 285:
Despite his frustration, RK drove straight to the hospital without stopping.
After Adrianâs cast was removed, he felt as if he had been reborn.
âOh yeah, Iâm back!â he cheered, moving his leg with newfound freedom.
Stella didnât waste any time and began thinking about how to help Adrian start walking again. She knew she couldnât always be around, so when RK arrived, she left the task to him. After all, he owned the companyâno one would fire him or deduct his salary.
âHey, Bad Uncle, are you back from being a child bride?â Adrian asked excitedly.
âA child bride? What child bride?â RK was puzzled.
âOh, Darling said you were sold to be a child bride. I wanted to ask, how are you doing as one? Are you used to it? Did the rich man make things difficult for you?â Adrianâs innocent questions made RK realize what Stella had been telling Adrian in his absence. That shameless woman! He felt an urge to teach her a lesson.
With a mischievous grin, RK responded, âWhat a coincidence. Let me tell you, there was another child bride with the same name as Darling. It was Stella!â
âReally? Someone with the same name as Darling?â Adrianâs eyes lit up with curiosity.
âOf course. I wouldnât lie to you. That Stella was so pitiful. Every day, she was beaten and scolded by her mother-in-law, had to do all the housework, cook, clean, and her husband took concubines behind her back. She cried in her room every day, begging me, âRene, save me. I canât live anymore!ââ
Stella rolled her eyes, feeling that RK had truly reached a new level of shamelessness.
âReally? Did you save her, Bad Uncle?â Adrian was eager to hear the rest of the story.
âI wanted to save her, but she didnât appreciate it. She said she couldnât leave because she had no home, and even if her husband didnât want her, she couldnât leave.â
Your story hub is gⱯlnÏνí®âs.í¬í¸í âWell, thatâs what she deserves! If she allowed herself to be bullied like that and didnât stand up for herself, she deserved to suffer,â Stella interjected, clearly annoyed.
âWhat do you know? Itâs called loyaltyâstanding by him from beginning to end,â RK said, amused.
âBullshit. If someone is being bullied and endures it silently, theyâre a fool! If that were me, Iâd kill my husband and live my life freely. Women nowadays have their own place in the world. I donât believe for a second that she couldnât survive without him,â
Stella shot back passionately.
RK grinned, feeling victorious as he saw he had successfully touched a nerve.
âWell, in ancient times, a womanâs virtues were emphasized. I think modern women are too impulsive. They should listen to their husbands.â
âShe shouldnât just listen to her husband! Marriage is a partnership, and both should discuss things. Blind obedience is an insult to women. Honestly, itâs better not to marry at all. Living alone is so liberating,â Stella countered, her voice full of conviction.
âAnd what if she has a child? What should she do then? What if the child needs a father? What if she canât handle it all alone?â
RKâs questions left Stella momentarily speechless. Even Adrian, who didnât fully understand the argument, could tell that RK had the upper hand in this round.
âI think that if the man fathered a child with her, he should never abandon them. After all, the child is innocent. Itâs a life,â RK said, looking at Stella with intensity.
âThe child may be innocent, but if the father has already admitted his mistakes, shouldnât the woman forgive him? The child needs a father. She canât just break up the family and run away forever,â RK continued, his voice firm.
âNo, she should leave. If she disappears completely, her hateful husband will never find her again,â Stella replied, stubborn as ever.
Adrian, feeling utterly confused by their heated exchange, decided to intervene.
âOuch... my legs hurt so much,â Adrian whimpered, grabbing his leg.
âWhatâs wrong, Adrian? Are you okay?â Stellaâs attention shifted instantly, her tone filled with concern.
âAre you alright, Adrian? Does it still hurt?â RK asked, kneeling beside him.
Adrian smiled sheepishly. âOh, Iâll be fine if you both stop arguing.â
RK and Stella quickly realized Adrian was faking it to stop their bickering. They both exchanged a glance and couldnât help but laugh a little.
âAlright, Adrian. Letâs get you up and walk around a bit,â Stella said, helping him out of bed. RK immediately moved to support Adrian from the other side.
Adrian walked slowly, like a child learning to walk for the first time, with both of his âparentsâ guiding him along. Despite the effort, Adrian was happy, and it showed. After a while, the trio sat together on the sofa to rest, tired but content.
Adrian secretly glanced at Stella and RK, feeling as if they were a family. For the first time in a long while, he didnât feel like he was missing his father. He smiled to himself, enjoying this rare moment of togetherness. It was a wonderful feeling, and Adrian couldnât help but hope there would be more moments like this in the future.
