Chapter 267
Love After Divorce by BELLA
Chapter 267:
The atmosphere of gossip spread quickly through the cafeteria. By lunchtime, the entire company seemed to know about the supposed drama between Stella and RK. Emily, eating her lunch, was shocked by how quickly the rumors had spread.
It was astonishing how people seemed to know the affairs of the world without stepping outside.
The power of gossip was undeniable, and Emily was convinced of it now more than ever. She finished her meal quickly, eager to get back to Stella and share what she had overheard. These people were terrifying with how fast they had pieced everything together.
A colleague sitting beside her nudged her arm.
âEmily, arenât you good friends with Stella? Do you know anything about this?â
The room grew quiet again, as if everyone was holding their breath, waiting for Emilyâs response.
âHehe, no, Stella has never told me anything about that. How could I not know? Her friend must have made a mistake... The president is way out of her league. How could he fall in love with a small employee like Stella?â Emily said, trying to deflect the topic as casually as possible.
But her attempt to brush it off only made everyone believe the gossip even more.
It was over nowâeveryone seemed to think Stella was going to become the presidentâs wife. Or perhaps she already had been?
There didnât seem to be much of a difference between the two scenarios. Either way, Stella was no longer someone the others could gossip about casually.
After finishing her lunch, Emily rushed back to the office.
Meanwhile, Stella stood in the elevator, watching as the numbers lit up floor by floor. She recalled the first time she had come to RKâs company to deliver medicine to him.
In the early years, RK often forgot to eat when he was busy with work. Whenever his stomach started hurting, he would eat whatever he could findâbiscuits, cakes, or drinks. He barely ever had a proper meal, and most of the time, it was cold food. His eating habits were terrible.
Every story unfolds at gαâηÏνíâsï¼í¬ííº At first, no one knew about his habits, not even Sophia. But Stella noticed. She saw how carelessly he treated his health.
Whenever he had a stomachache, he would take medicine haphazardly and not deal with the issue properly.
So, whenever he left home, Stella would never let him eat cold food. She would always prepare honey or other remedies in his suitcase and remind him to take care of himself.
On one particular morning, RK left in such a rush that he forgot the medicine Stella had prepared. When she saw it still on the table after breakfast, she didnât think twiceâshe hailed a taxi and rushed to his office. RK, on the other hand, didnât realize he had left it behind until he was already at work. But he brushed it off, not thinking much of it.
Halfway through his day, RKâs stomach started acting up, but he powered through, finishing his meetings before lying down in the lounge to rest. When he woke up, he was surprised to see Stella sitting beside him.
When Stella had first entered the companyâs lobby, the security guard didnât recognize her. Hardly anyone in the company knew who she was, so she was naturally stopped at the door.
She couldnât exactly say she was RKâs wife, so she told the guard she was his friend, bringing him stomach medicine.
Unsurprisingly, the guard didnât believe her and refused to let her in.
Just as Stella was at a loss for what to do, she spotted Alex Tristin, RKâs special assistant, who often handled matters on RKâs behalf. Naturally, Alex knew Stella well.
âMrs. RK, why are you here? Are you here to see the president?â Alex asked as he approached.
âYes, he forgot his medicine,â Stella answered, a bit embarrassed.
The security guard, realizing his mistake, looked terrified. âMr. Tristin, is this really the presidentâs friend? I thought she was here to harass him... but you just called her Mrs. RK.â
Alex didnât even need to say anythingâthe look he gave the guard was enough to convey his meaning: just wait for your punishment later.
After that, Alex led Stella into the building. They took the presidentâs private elevator, so everyone in the company soon knew who Stella was. She had been a bit nervous as the floors lit up one by one. Alex couldnât accompany her all the way to the top floor, as only RK or certain people were allowed to use the presidentâs elevator.
Alex pressed the button for her, and Stella soon found herself on the top floor. The space was vast, and without Alex to guide her, she would surely have gotten lost.
A few minutes later, Alex emerged from the staff elevator and took Stella straight to the presidentâs office. But the office was empty. Alex knocked on the door to the lounge, where he guessed RK must be resting, then quietly signaled for Stella to go in.
