Chapter 260

Love After Divorce by BELLA

Chapter 260:

At noon, Adrian was feeling bored since Alia was at kindergarten and couldn’t come to play with him. After lunch, he was sleepy, and as Stella tucked him in, he started chatting with her.

“Darling, have I ever heard the story of Little Red Riding Hood before?” Adrian asked, his tone curious.

Stella chuckled at his question. “Haven’t you heard it before? I told you that story. Why? Are you testing me now?”

“No, no,” Adrian quickly shook his head and waved his hands. “I just meant that when my leg gets better, I want to go visit Great Grandma.”

Hearing that, Stella realized it had been a long time since she visited her grandmother. Ever since Adrian was hospitalized, she hadn’t been able to see her, and she wondered how her grandmother was doing.

“Alright, sweetheart. Go to sleep now. I’ll go visit Grandma this afternoon on your behalf, okay?”

“Okay, okay,” Adrian agreed, looking satisfied before quickly drifting off to sleep. Stella tucked him in, made sure he was comfortable, and then checked the time, deciding it was a good opportunity to visit her grandmother.

In the afternoon, Stella hailed a taxi and went to the hospital where her grandmother was staying. On the way, she passed by a place that sold lemon rice and chicken wings—

Adrian’s favorite. She bought two portions: one for her grandmother and one for Adrian. Although her grandmother didn’t have the same appetite as Adrian, Stella thought it was a nice gesture, and it would make her happy.

When she arrived at the hospital, Stella glanced around to see if RK’s car was parked nearby. Seeing that it wasn’t, she felt relieved and entered the building.

She knocked on the door of her grandmother’s hospital room and heard her familiar voice call out, “Who is it?”

“Grandma, it’s me, Stella!”

“Stella, come in!”

Feel inspired by ga ln o vels . com Stella walked in to see her grandmother sitting up in bed, leaning against the pillows with a warm smile.

“Grandma, I’ve been so busy lately, I haven’t visited you much. You’re not angry with me, are you?” Stella asked, feeling a bit guilty.

“Of course not, dear! I know you’re busy with work, so it’s alright if you can’t visit every day. I’m doing fine here. It’s not boring at all,” Grace said cheerfully, looking healthier than the last time Stella saw her. It seemed like RK was really taking good care of her.

“Grandma, I brought you something! This is lemon rice and chicken wings that Adrian specially asked me to bring for you. He loves them, and I thought you might like to try them too,” Stella said, pulling the food from her bag.

“Please thank Adrian for me! How thoughtful of him!” Grace’s smile widened, looking genuinely touched by the gesture. Stella couldn’t remember the last time she saw her grandmother so happy, and she silently promised herself to visit more often.

“Grandma, is it good? This is Adrian’s favorite!” Stella asked as her grandmother took a bite.

“Yes, it’s delicious,” Grace said as she ate, clearly enjoying the meal.

While eating, Grace looked at Stella with curiosity in her eyes. “So, Stella, how did you and Rene get to know each other? Tell me!”

Stella nearly choked. “Oh, um... we’re just colleagues. We work in the same company,” she stammered, trying to brush it off.

“Really? How did you meet him?” Grace pressed on, her curiosity piqued.

“Well, I met him through work. I don’t really know him that well,” Stella replied, trying to distance herself from any implication of closeness to RK. She feared her grandmother might get ideas if she didn’t clear things up.

“Is Rene a good person at work? How is his character? How does he get along with his colleagues?” Grace asked, throwing question after question at Stella, making her feel cornered.

“Ah? Yes, he’s good. Everyone at the company... likes him,” Stella replied awkwardly, knowing that in reality, everyone was more terrified of him. RK’s constant serious expression made everyone feel like they were walking on eggshells around him.

“And does Rene hold a high position in the company?” Grace asked, still curious.

“Ah? Well... yes, quite high...” Stella answered, though the truth was that RK held the highest position in the entire company. But she wasn’t about to scare her grandmother with that detail.

“Are there any colleagues in your company who like Rene and want to pursue him?” Grace asked, throwing Stella completely off guard.

“Ah? Well... I don’t really know...” Stella was growing more uncomfortable by the second, silently pleading for her grandmother to drop the subject.

“Stella,” Grace began in a serious tone, making Stella think they were finally moving away from the topic of RK. “I think... Rene likes you a lot!”

Stella was speechless. She didn’t know how to respond.

“Grandma, listen to me. The truth is, Rene has a fiancée,” Stella blurted out, deciding it was time to drop a bombshell on her grandmother after enduring all those awkward questions.
