Chapter 257
Love After Divorce by BELLA
Chapter 257:
Among Adrianâs toys, there was a game console that RK had picked up and was now playing. Adrian could only watch in frustration, glaring at him but unable to retrieve it.
âBad Uncle, put down the game!â Adrian shouted, but it had no effect. âBad Uncle, put it down, or Iâll teach you a lesson!â
RK continued playing without a care in the world, ignoring Adrianâs protests. In the end, Adrian was too exhausted to keep yelling, so he lay on the bed, pouting, waiting for someone to come to his rescue.
That was the scene Stella walked into when she returned. RK, a grown man, was seated at the table engrossed in the game, while Adrian lay on the bed looking utterly wronged. Stella couldnât believe how childish and shameless RK could be.
âBoohoo, Darling! That bad uncle stole my game...â Adrian immediately complained, sending out a distress signal the moment he saw her.
Stella smiled slightly and said, âItâs okay, Adrian. This uncle is very lonely in his old age. Heâs particularly pitiful. You should feel sympathy for him and let this bad uncle enjoy being a child for a bit.â
RK couldnât help but feel a bit awkward at her words.
âOh, okay then. I want to eat lemon rice,â Adrian said, forgetting about the game as his attention shifted to food.
Sitting by the edge of the bed, Stella focused on watching Adrian eat. After a while, a smile spread across her face, her worries momentarily fading. She didnât notice that RK had stopped playing and was now watching her instead.
He couldnât help but notice how much weight she had lost. In just a few days, she had become even thinner. He remembered her being more robust before, but now she seemed fragile, like a feather that could be blown away by the wind.
RK couldnât imagine what would happen if she lost Adrian.
âAdrian, eat your food. Iâll be right back,â Stella said, standing up to leave the room.

When Stella came out of the bathroom, she was startled to find RK leaning against the wall, his expression calm as he looked at her.
She felt uneasy and tried to walk past him, but he blocked her path. She had just bathed and didnât have much strength. Even if she did, she couldnât overpower him. Reluctantly, she let him pull her back.
âWhat are you doing?â Stella asked, annoyed.
âIâm not doing anything. Iâm just reminding you to take care of yourself, so Adrian doesnât become the child of a single-parent family,â RK said calmly.
âAdrian is already a child of a single-parent family. He doesnât have a fatherâhe only has a mother,â Stella retorted.
âIs that so? What if I fight for custody?â RK sneered.
âYou wonât get custody,â Stella shot back.
âItâs not up to you to decide that,â RK said, his tone growing colder. He hadnât intended to argue with her, but for some reason, every time they talked, his emotions got the better of him.
âHe has no feelings for you. The court wonât give him to you!â Stella was losing patience, feeling as though every conversation with him was a battle of wills.
âFeelings can be cultivated over time,â RK replied, his voice still calm. âAdrian is my son, my flesh and blood. Blood is thicker than water. I donât believe he has no feelings for me.â
âHa! Blood is thicker than water?â Stella scoffed. âDid you think about that when you abandoned him? Now you want to fight for custody, and youâre saying he has feelings for you? Youâre unbelievable, RK.â
Just as expected, their conversation turned into an argument within three sentences.
âI made that decision for the good of everyone,â RK said, a hint of regret in his voice. âBut now that Adrian is here, heâs my responsibility too. Donât you want to give him a better life?â
âAs long as Iâm here, thatâs the best life for Adrian. Iâm his mother. Iâve been with him since the day he was born,â Stella said, her patience wearing thin. âRK, you need to think carefully about this. If you truly care about Adrian, you should understand whatâs best for him.â
âOf course I do. Having a father in his life is whatâs best for him.â
âI donât want to argue with you,â Stella sighed wearily. âYou know deep down if what youâre saying is true or not. Iâm exhausted, and Iâd appreciate it if youâd leave us alone until Adrian is discharged from the hospital.â
With that, Stella turned and walked away, leaving RK standing there, looking lost and unsure of what to do next.
