Chapter 253
Love After Divorce by BELLA
Chapter 253:
This was a clear violation of her personal freedom!
âBut... Miss Richard, Mr. Kingston said that you canât go out.â
The servant awkwardly blocked Stellaâs path, clearly intent on keeping her inside, with no intention of letting her leave.
âI already made plans with my friend! Sheâs waiting for me! I have to go today!â Stella fumed. Who did RK think he was to keep her from going out? He had locked her in the house all summer, refusing to let her contact the outside world! It was like she had vanished.
âMiss Richard, please go back.â The servant said firmly. âSir cares about you. Before he left, he told us to watch over you and not let you go out. If you have any requests, we can fulfill them, but... you canât leave.â
âI want to go out!â Stella was fuming as she tried to force her way past the servant.
At this point, the commotion attracted the attention of all the servants downstairs. Soon, a group of them had gathered in front of Stella, all standing firmly in her way, determined not to let her leave.
âMiss Richard, please go back. Mr. Kingston has instructed that you cannot go out.â
âThatâs right, Miss Richard, your ankle hasnât fully healed yet, and itâs still inconvenient for you to walk. Please return to your room and rest,â one of the servants urged as they gently pushed Stella back inside the house.
There was no room for argument.
Stella was livid!
âNo, Iâm going out today! College starts in a few days, and Iâve already recovered! Besides, I promised my friend! If you wonât let me out today, Iâll just go out tomorrow!â Stella shouted in frustration.
She had thought living in the RK mansion wouldnât be so bad at first, but every time she wanted to leave, it became a nightmare!
Your update hub: gⱯlηÏνâ¯âs.cøm The mansion, while equipped with every luxury, was like a gilded cage that restricted her freedom.
At that moment, the old housekeeper stepped forward. âMiss Richard, how about this? Iâll call Mr. Kingston. If he allows it, weâll let you go out. But if he says no, please donât make things difficult for us.â
Stella was speechless. âLet you go outâ? It sounded as if she was a prisoner in her own home.
However, she knew that asking RK was better than being blocked from going out entirely.
Left with no choice, Stella sighed. âFine.â
Deep down, she wasnât hopeful. If RK had intended to let her go out, he would have given her that freedom long ago. She doubted his answer would be any different now.
Still, she couldnât shake the idea that this might be her only chance to escape, so she nodded reluctantly.
As the old housekeeper made the call, Stella thought, This is perfect. Maybe I can sneak out while theyâre distracted!
She certainly didnât want to be blocked by servants every time she tried to leave.
After a few moments of silence, the phone rang on the other end. It wasnât long before someone picked up.
The old housekeeper asked, âSir, are you busy? Miss Richard would like to go out today. What do you think?â
Stella rolled her eyes. As if RK would say yes. She waited for the inevitable response.
A few moments later, the housekeeper approached her with the phone. âMiss Richard, Mr. Kingston would like to speak with you.â
Stella groaned inwardly. Her plan to slip away had failed. Who wanted to talk to RK anyway?
Reluctantly, she took the phone and answered in a low voice.
From the other end, RKâs deep, steady voice came through. âWhere are you going?â
His tone was calm as always, with no emotion. It was impossible to tell what he was thinking.
âThe bookstore!â Stella replied quickly.
It was becoming clear to her that if she continued living in the RK mansion, it would always be difficult to go out.
Luckily, college was about to start soon. After that, she could stay on campus every day, free to do whatever she wanted without needing RKâs permission.
Thinking of that brought her some relief. Itâs much better than being stuck here in this mansion, she thought.
