Chapter 246
Love After Divorce by BELLA
Chapter 246:
Stella didnât care. She had to speak the truth first!
Even though RK rarely returned to the mansion, only coming back maybe once a week, there was always a chance. When she had first moved in, the man could stay away from home for two or three months at a time. It made Stella realize that RK was the type of man who hadnât returned home regularly for years.
Living alone in the RK mansion wasnât so bad. At least she didnât have to deal with his cold demeanor day in and day out.
Over time, Stella got used to it.
Whatâs more, while she was still in college, she rarely returned to the RK mansion, so she didnât think much about it. On the weekends, when she did come home, RK would often still be absent.
Despite being married for such a long time, they remained like strangers. For Stella, it felt like she was just a temporary guest, someone who could be dismissed at any moment.
As for RK, it seemed like he had forgotten about this place entirely. Otherwise, how could he avoid coming home every day?
On the other end of the phone, Kelly was perplexed. âStella, didnât you say Mr. Kingston rarely comes back? He came home yesterday, and now youâre saying heâs coming back again today? Could it be... does he care about you?
Maybe he knows someone is waiting for him at home now, and thatâs why heâs coming home more often?â
Kellyâs thoughts were running wild.
Stella was speechless.
Kelly had been thinking about Stellaâs life too much lately!
In the past, when Stella lived with the Richard family, no one thought about her like this. But now, it was as if Kelly had taken on a motherly role, constantly worrying about her well-being.
Get lost in stories on gⱯlnÏνíâsï¹í¬í¸í¶ âWell, I donât know... I just heard that heâll be back... So, Kelly, you really shouldnât come over today. It might be inconvenient!â
Stella lied, trying to sound sincere.
She thought, Itâs better to keep my swollen foot a secret. I donât want Kelly to find out that my injury is worse than before.
Kelly had no choice but to say, âAlright, alright... I wonât come over and be the third wheel! But Stella, you need to seize the opportunity! Either capture Mr. Kingston or go for Steven!â
Stella muttered, âI got it...â
After hanging up the phone, Stella lay back down on the bed.
Her foot injury had worsened, and she could barely move her right foot now. The previous day, despite the swelling, she could still move it a little, but now... it was immobile.
She wondered how many things Sophia had packed into her bag. Not only had Stellaâs foot been injured, but her ankle had been cut too. She didnât know if Sophia had done it on purpose, but it sure felt intentional.
Time passed, and Stella was left with nothing to do.
Last month, she had been abandoned in the RK mansion. This month, it seemed she was going to be abandoned in bed. All she could do was lie there, look at her phone, read books, or watch TV.
Because of her injury, the servants brought her water and helped her clean herself. But today...
If this continued, she felt like she would start to stink!
At that moment, a servant came in with a basin of water and asked, âMiss Richard, would you like to wash up? Iâve prepared everything for you.â
âI think Iâd rather take a shower today,â Stella said.
She hadnât washed her hair in two days, and with her foot injury, it had been too inconvenient to wash it the previous day. If she didnât shower today, she couldnât imagine how gross sheâd feel.
The servant was surprised and said, âMiss Richard, your foot is injured! The doctor said it mustnât touch water!â
âIt doesnât matter,â Stella replied as she propped herself up with her hands, preparing to get out of bed. âJust prepare the bathwater. My foot doesnât need to touch the water; you can help me get to the tub later.â
âBut...,â the servant hesitated.
âHurry up! I havenât bathed in two days!â Stella insisted.
Left with no choice, the servant went to prepare the bathwater. After filling the tub, she helped Stella to the bathroom.
âMiss Richard, would you like me to help you bathe? Iâm afraid you wonât be able to manage on your own,â the servant asked with concern.
âNo need, Iâll do it myself!â Stella refused. âJust prepare everything, and Iâll take care of it.â
It would feel strange to have someone bathe her.
The maid still wanted to protest, but seeing Stellaâs determination, she had no choice but to prepare the bathroom and leave.
Stella carefully lowered herself into the tub, keeping her injured foot propped up on the edge in an awkward position.
Knock, knock, knock...
Stella had just settled into the bath when she heard knocking at the bathroom door.
She assumed it was the servant returning and called out, âWhatâs the matter? Come in.â
But she hadnât expected what happened next...
Creakâ
The bathroom door opened, and a familiar figure stepped inside.
It was RK.
