Chapter 106
Love After Divorce by BELLA
Chapter 106:
âOh... itâs Uncle Tristan... He said heâd take me to the amusement park with him! Right now, Iâm at the amusement park with Uncle Tristan.
Darling, itâs so much fun! Do you want to come with us, Darling?â
With that, Adrian excitedly began describing the places heâd been playing. âDarling, you know... Uncle Tristan just took me inside the haunted house! It looked scary, but I wasnât afraid.
I even tore off the ghostâs mask, and there was a person inside!â He giggled, his laughter clear over the phone.
It was obvious he was still completely immersed in the fun he was having.
âAnd Darling! Just now, Uncle Tristan helped me win a doll! I got one for you too. Uncle Tristan also got you a necklace. Isnât it great?â
Adrian, holding his phone with one hand, walked beside Tristan, his arms full of toys. From time to time, the tall man next to him brought food to Adrianâs mouth.
It was like Adrian was being pamperedâit was perfect.
In fact, when they were abroad, Stella had never been able to take her son to an amusement park. She had been too busy working. Whatâs more, she worked two jobs at a time, sometimes without a day off for the entire month.
As she thought about it, she realized how much sheâd missed the chance to take Adrian to the amusement park.
âDarling, I still have cotton candy!â Adrian exclaimed, switching the call to video mode.
He had clearly explored all the functions on his phone.
On the screen, Stella saw her precious sonâs face, still covered in cotton candy. It was dusk, and the glow of the setting sun bathed his soft, rosy cheeks. A smile played on his lips.
Adrian wasnât used to amusement parks, but today he seemed so proud. âDarling, look! Thereâs a merry-go-round! Uncle Tristan said heâll take me on it. Do you want to play with us? There are so many lights! Itâs really beautiful.â
It was rare to see Adrian so excited. He couldnât stop talking, even with his mouth full of cotton candy. His cheeks were puffed up as he spoke, making him look even cuter.
LítÑÑÏ Ïhí¶ÏÏÑrs ιn gíªlíovÑlí.í¸Ð¾m Seeing that her son was happy and safe, Stella said, âItâs okay, Adrian. I have something to do, and Iâll have to work overtime tonight.
I canât come play with you today, but Iâll take you there in a few days. Go home early and get some rest. Do you want me to ask Emily to pick you up?â
Stella and Cherry still had to go to Starlight Nightclub later that night to find Andrew Matthews, so she couldnât pick up Adrian herself. She was about to trouble Emily again.
But Adrian, having too much fun, didnât want to leave.
Adrian quickly waved his small hand in front of the camera and said, âNo, Darling, no need. Uncle Tristan said heâd take me home.
And tonight, there are fireworks at the amusement park! Uncle Tristan said heâll stay with me to watch them. Donât worry about me! You go ahead and work overtime. Iâm with Uncle Tristan!â
Stella was speechless.
This kid... did he even need his mom anymore?
He kept talking about Uncle Tristan, as if saying his name had become second nature to him.
Stella hadnât expected that, after Tristan had mentioned wanting to take care of her and Adrian earlier that day, he would already be so close to her son!
She thought about asking Emily to accompany Adrian to the amusement park and watch the fireworks with him. It seemed better than leaving him with Tristan. There was something about the situation that felt a bit strange to her.
âStella...â
Stella was still considering how to handle the situation when Tristanâs handsome face suddenly appeared on the screen.
It seemed like they were resting on a bench.
After taking Adrianâs phone, Tristan raised it with his long arm, and now both their faces appeared on the screen, along with the background. There was a Ferris wheel behind them.
Just looking at the scene, Stella couldnât help but imagine how loving it would seem if she were there.
Adrian, still eating cotton candy, had toys piled on his short legsâdolls heâd won. Tristan held the phone in one hand while using a tissue to wipe Adrianâs neck with the other.
The tissue had cotton candy on it, which heâd probably used to clean Adrianâs face earlier.
âStella, Iâll send Adrian home by 9 PM,â Tristan said. âAdrian told me he rarely gets to go out and play, so I wanted to take him to the amusement park while heâs still young. I donât want him to miss out on these experiences.â
Stella didnât know what to say.
His words sounded so sincere, as if he was just trying to make sure Adrian had a good time. But to Stella, they were also a reminder of how, for all these years, she hadnât been able to spend time with Adrian because of how busy she was with work.
Even though sheâd always been by Adrianâs side, sheâd neglected the importance of making these memories with him.
Tristan continued, âI want to be good to you and Adrian from now on. Iâll prove it to you. I care about him too.â
Stellaâs heart skipped a beat for no reason. A warm feeling spread from the bottom of her heart.
Looking at the two faces on the screen, Tristanâs expression was gentle, and Adrian, giggling beside him, covered his little mouth with his hands to stop himself from laughing and ruining the moment.
There was an undeniable warmth in the scene before her...
