Chapter 103
Love After Divorce by BELLA
Chapter 103:
Stella shook his hand off her arm and said awkwardly, âTristan... Iâm sorry. Donât mention it again. I didnât mean to.â
As the two of them were talking, a deep voice interrupted from the side.
When Stella looked in the direction of the voice, she saw a familiar figure walking toward them. His cold gaze was fixed on Stella, and his terrifying dark eyes held a power that made her shiver.
Stella sighed inwardly. She didnât know why her luck was so bad. Why did she always run into this man during her lunch break?
RK walked past Stella, glanced at her, and said coldly, âThere is only one minute left before lunch break ends. Get back to work.â
Stella felt speechless, but since the boss had spoken, what could she do?
After RK finished speaking, his cold eyes shifted from Stella to Tristan, who was standing across from her. The two men locked eyes, and it was as if there were hidden forces exploding between them.
Every time these two looked at each other, Stella always felt the atmosphere was strange, as if there was something unspoken between them.
Once RK left, Stella turned to Tristan and said, âTristan, I have to get back to work.â
Tristan didnât let go of her arm immediately, but he relaxed his grip and said, âStella, I donât like you working at his company. Go home and think carefully about accepting me. I can support both you and Adrian with my abilitiesâitâs more than enough.â
He had always been a respectful person, especially when it came to Stella. Whatever her choice, he would unconditionally support her, no matter the circumstances.
Thatâs why, in the past, when Stella agreed to marry RK, he chose to step back.
Tristan was tough and forceful, but when it came to Stella, he couldnât bring himself to hurt her. Thatâs why everything he did was for her sake.
Stella didnât say anything. She lowered her head to hide the thoughts in her eyes.
At that moment, Stella couldnât explain anything, so she simply nodded and walked away.
Every journey starts at gαâηÏνíâs.cíí As for Tristan, there were too many things between themâthings that werenât easily resolved.
It wasnât just the years of separation but also the relationship they had as brother and sister. More importantly, there were moral and ethical issues involved. That wasnât something easily overcome.
Whatâs more, Stella didnât want to drag Tristan down. There was too much of a gap in their statuses. So, being with him was something she had never considered.
On the way back to the office, Emily couldnât help but say, âStella, donât you want to consider Tristan? He cares so much about you!â
She added, âLet me tell you, heâs much better than your ex-husband! Look at RKâjust now, while you were talking to Tristan, RK still tried to control you.
Heâs your ex-husband! What right does he have to do that? Youâve already divorced him! Heâs really... too much!â
Emily was clearly angry and dissatisfied.
She couldnât just stand by and watch Stella suffer. Maybe it was because they had spent so many years abroad together, or maybe because they had taken care of each other and Adrian for so long.
Stella was very grateful to Emily. Over time, they had become like sisters, advising each other on life matters.
Stella shook her head and sighed. She spoke slowly, âItâs impossible for anything to happen between me and Tristan. Iâve always treated him as my brother since we were young.â
But now... suddenly, their relationship had changed from that of siblings to something more like lovers. No matter how hard she tried, she couldnât accept it.
Whatâs more, deep down, she wasnât sure she could fully give herself to himânot in that way, not in love.
Emily continued, âHey! Youâre one of a kind, you know that? In my opinion, Tristan is one of the most reliable men out there! He can take care of you and Adrian like no one else can.â
She added, âItâs true! Heâs loved you for years, and even after you divorced and had a child, he never looked down on you. That kind of devotion... thatâs real love!â
Stella remained silent.
Emily persisted, âStella, donât rush to make a decision! If you want to find a father for Adrian, I think Tristan is the best choice.
Think about it... isnât that true?â
Stella sighed, feeling a wave of complicated emotions. Maybe Tristan really was a reliable man, especially for Adrianâs sake.
But she didnât want to be with Tristan just because of that. It wouldnât be fair to him.
âForget it! Donât mention it. Letâs just let things unfold naturally,â Stella said, shaking her head. She didnât want to discuss the matter anymore.
As they waited for the elevator, they saw RK heading toward the presidentâs private elevator.
Emily couldnât help but mutter discontentedly, âI think your ex-husband wants to have it both ways! Heâs already divorced you, but he still wants to control you and keep you away from other men. What a bastard!â
