Chapter 33
You Are My Starlight
About Ownership (Part 2)
Huo Ting quickly brought the porridge over. It had probably been prepared earlier and kept in the pot.
âWhat are you talking about?â he asked.
Su Mianmian and the Dongdong looked at each other and said very tactfully, âNothing.â
Huo Ting glanced at Dongdong, feeling a little displeased. He carefully put the porridge before Su Mianmian and said softly, âBe careful, itâs hot.â
Su Mianmian gave a feeble acknowledgement uneasily before lowering her head to eat the porridge.
Dongdong looked behind Huo Ting and asked, âDaddy, where are my milk and cookies?â
âGo and get them yourself.â He glanced at Huo Chendongâs overly nutritious round face and said, âLook at your face, Huo Chendong. Itâs time for you to lose some weight.â
Dongdong sulked angrily, making his face look even rounder, and said unhappily, âAre all adults like this? You can just tell me straight up if you donât want to get them, donât make excuses for your behavior. As a man, I will forgive you.â
âMan? Is there any man who drinks milk?â Huo Ting laughed at him.
âWhatâs wrong with men drinking milk? Who says men canât drink milk?â Dongdong looked up and said proudly, âIâm the most popular prince charming voted by our five hundred women from our kindergarten. The whole process was fair and open.â
Hearing this, Su Mianmian couldnât help but look up at Dongdong and pondered. Kindergarten even holds such things?
Dongdong would probably wag his tail cockily in the air if he had one.
He said proudly, âSo, Daddy, youâre already old. Men of the new age have to drink milk.â
The logic behind this was questionable, but it did seem to make a little sense after thinking about it carefully.
Huo Ting ignored Dongdong, and when he saw Su Mianmian finish the porridge, he said again, âWant more?â
Su Mianmian shook her head.
Huo Ting stared at her.
Su Mianmian looked totally lost.
Dongdong looked at Huo Ting, and then at Su Mianmian. He stretched out his hand to hold Su Mianmianâs hand, and then whispered, âMiemie, my father wants to ask how was the taste?â
Taste?
âIt tasted a bit weird.â she said honestly.
She wasnât sure if it was her illusion, but Huo Ting seemed defeated after she said this.
âWell it wasnât too weird. Itâs just that the smell of meat wasnât removed, and too much salt was added.â
Actually, she didnât make things better by explaining it this wayâ¦
Huo Ting looked at her with a tinge of sadness before walking away with the bowl and chopsticks.
Goneâ¦
Su Mianmian couldnât figure out what was going on. She asked Dongdong, âWhatâs wrong with your father?â
Dongdong snickered and said, âThe porridge was cooked by him, haha, and he deliberately did not let anyone help him, but how could he cook something decent by himself? So, I secretly helped him when he wasnât paying attention.â
⦠Dongdong, are you sure the porridge wasnât weird because of you?
Su Mianmian felt warm inside her. No one had ever done such things for her.
She touched her stomach and suddenly felt a little hungry.
âDongdong, go to your dad and tell him I think the porridge tastes good and I want to have another bowl.â
Dongdong looked at her strangely and touched her forehead. After making sure she wasnât having a fever, he said, âAll right, Iâll go get my milk along the way.â
After a while, Huo Ting brought the porridge over and said indifferently. âI criticized the chef just now and got him to pay attention when he cooks porridge next time. You can wait a while if youâre not too hungry. They are cooking it again now.â
âNo itâs okay, I think this is delicious.â To show that she liked it very much and as if she was afraid that he would immediately take it away, Su Mianmian quickly stood up and took the porridge.
Although Huo Ting still had no expression on his face, one of his ears was actually red if looked at closely.
Su Mianmian pondered while eating the porridge. Is Uncle feeling shy?
