Chapter 4
Losing to My Substitute (Katerina and Joshu)
Chapter 4 âSince you donât want them, we wonât make it up then. Donât regret it later.â
As they spoke, the three carefully watched Katerinaâs reaction.
But she remained calm, her expression neutral. âDonât worry, I wonât regret it.â
That evening. Mr. and Mrs. Green returned from their business trip abroad.
At the family dinner, Bethany, as the daughter of a servant, was supposed to help her mother in the kitchen.
But Andrew grabbed her hand and pressed down on her shoulder to make her sit in the seat beside him.
âThere are plenty of people in the kitchen. Just sit here and eat with us.â
Bethany awkwardly tried to stand up, but Ethan and Tony both held her hands, gesturing for her to stay seated.
Seeing this scene, Mr. and Mrs. Greenâs expressions darkened with displeasure, but they said nothing.
Mrs. Green deliberately ignored her three sons and looked kindly at Katerina:
âKate, yesterday was your birthday. Who did you choose to marry? Iâve already picked out venues for the wedding banquet.
Such a joyous occasion should be celebrated grandly â we canât let you be shortchanged.â
At these words, all three brothers fell silent.
The dinner table became deathly quiet.
Then Ethanâs deep, magnetic voice reached everyoneâs ears:
âYesterday Beth had a fever, so I didnât go.â
âI was busy taking care of Beth, so I didnât go either,â Tony said lazily, showing no concern for the matter.
Andrew chimed in: âI was too busy to go too. Anyway, since Kate hasnât chosen yet, we can discuss marriage later!â

ï¤Chapter 420 As their responses increasingly fueled Mr. and Mrs. Greenâs anger, just as they were about to explode, Katerina received a photo of a ring from Joshua.
âWould you like this wedding ring? If you donât, I can take you to choose another.â
The ring in the photo was a pigeon eggâsized heartâshaped pink diamond, surrounded by countless tiny diamonds, dazzling and resplendent.
It was beautiful beautiful enough to make any girlâs heart flutter.
Katerina smiled slightly and passed her phone to Mr. and Mrs. Green.
âUncle Green, Aunt Green, Iâm already married. The wedding is set for two weeks from now. Look, this is the wedding ring my husband sent me to look at. I love it.â
With these words, the atmosphere in the entire room froze.
For a moment, everyone was in disbelief.
Mr. and Mrs. Green were so shocked they couldnât form a complete sentence for a long while.
After some time, they finally stammered: âKate, is this... real or fake?â
Just as Katerina was about to answer âreal,â Ethan cut in coldly with a dark expression: âEnough! Itâs one thing to play around with us, but now youâre making such jokes in front of Mom and Dad?â
