Chapter 182
The Luna’s Choice by Kat Silver
Chapter 30: Ayla Sunday had been amazing and exactly what both Theo and I needed. We spent most of the day talking. It was like our first days together. Before everyone knew about us, and we were just Theo and Ayla getting to know each other better.
But Monday came around, and it was time to return to real life.
Maggie was with me in my classes today, which was even more pleasant than I had expected. It wasnât just because we got along so well. I no longer felt like I was drawing so much attention. Maggie wasnât supposed to appear as a bodyguard, and she didnât. She blended right in as a fellow student. I had missed a couple of classes the week before, which I felt guilty enough about since it was the first week of the semester. But not feeling like eyes were on me allowed me to catch up in my first class quickly. I expected the same for Professor Armandâ s class as we entered.
We werenât the first to arrive by far, but we were still a few minutes early. Like I had with Jimmy, I let Maggie pick our seats to choose the most advantageous position. She picked the same general area that Jimmy had, and I smiled to myself. We took out our textbooks and laptops and were discussing an upcoming assignment when a familiar voice made my skin crawl.
âI guess I shouldnât be surprised to see you here,â Amy said from behind my shoulder. âYou really are so jealous of Kylee that you just stole her entire life.â
Maggie hadnât even realized she was talking to me until I glanced over my shoulder.
0.004 288 Vouchers âHello, Amy,â I said casually. âI didnât realize you were in this class.â
âStealing her mate wasnât enough. You had to steal her education, too?â she hissed.
Maggie started to turn around.
âDonât.â I mindâlinked her. âItâs not worth it. Iâm not even bothered.â
âWho the hell is that?â she replied. âAnd is she really talking to you?â
âHer name is Amy, and unfortunately, yes,â I told her. âSheâs a friend of my sisterâs. Just ignore her.â
Professor Armand entered the lecture hall and greeted everyone. He was in an energetic mood, as usual. He jumped into the lesson for the day, and I was intrigued as he started to talk about ancient architecture. I remembered it was the professorâs research that had helped Briggs find Randyâs underground hideout.
I packed up and approached Professor Armandâs desk when the class was over.
âHey, Professor,â I said cheerily. âThanks again for sending the information I missed last week. I really am sorry I missed the classes.â
âNot a problem at all, Luna,â he said with a smile.
âAlpha Theo and I would like to invite you to the packhouse this evening,â I said. âI know we talked about you helping us look into some information. If you think you can spare the time, weâd love to get you introduced to the project.â
His face lit up. âI would be delighted.â
âWonderful,â I said. âWeâll meet you at the packhouse café at seven if 28.59%
Chapter 30. Ayia 288 Vouchers that works for you?â
âSounds perfect,â he confirmed.
Maggie and headed out of the lecture hall and started to make our way to my car.
âAre you guys going to tell the professor about the rogues tonight?â Maggie asked as I started the engine.
âMost likely,â I said. âWeâll show him the cellar and what weâve gotten from the investigation so far. But we mostly want him to look at the books my father left me. Iâve learned some stuff, but itâs a lot to go through, and I just donât think Iâll have the time to do it all on my own.â
âI can help you some, too,â Maggie said.
âThanks, Mags,â I replied with a smile.
We were quiet for a few minutes until Maggie spoke again.
âSo... who was that Amy chick and why was she being such a bitch?â
I sighed. âSheâs a close friend of my sister, Kylee. Obviously, Kylee didnât take the breakâup with Theo well, and it didnât help that he was my mate. I guess she still hasnât accepted that Iâm not the bad guy in that situation.â
âYou know I canât let her talk to you like that again?â Maggie said sternly.
I shook my head. âReally, donât even acknowledge her. I never really liked her to begin with, so what she thinks about me doesnât mean anything. And we canât risk you blowing your cover on her account. Sheâs no real threat. She probably wonât even bother with me after 54.75%

âI donât know,â Maggie said slowly. âSomething seemed off about her. Not just her stupidity for disrespecting her Luna.â
I laughed. âYeah, that âoffâ feeling isnât anything new. Kylee brought her home her freshman year, and I didnât like her back then.
But she was strangely devoted to Kylee. So her behavior now isnât that shocking.â
âWell, I wonât make a scene about it if she tries to say something again,â Maggie stated. âBut I will have it addressed. And Iâll have to tell Alpha about it.â
âI know,â I conceded. âIâm not going to stop you. But donât worry about it unless she harasses me again. Dirty looks on campus donât count. After our last encounter, I doubt sheâll do anything out in the open.â
âWait...â Maggie perked up. âIs she the one you beat up in the packhouse lobby a while ago?â
I groaned. âI didnât beat her up,â I said. âI just put her in her place. Or at least, I thought I did. Obviously, sheâs had enough time to wallow over it.â
âDonât worry, Luna,â Maggie assured me. âIâm not going to let her bother you.â
âThanks, Maggie.â
