Chapter 105
The Luna’s Choice by Kat Silver
Chapter 105: Ayla I talked to Mina about how to approach Kylee about me and Theo. I knew it wouldnât be easy, and it would take time for us to work toward repairing our relationship. But I needed to do it.
âI know itâs not what you want to hear, honey,â Mina said, âbut that conversation wonât end well. Kylee still thinks she can get Theo back. Itâs pretty annoying. Thatâs why I have limited contact. Iâm just checking in to make sure they arenât starving. But when she finds out about you and Theo, sheâs going to blame you. One hundred percent.â
â
My shoulders fell. I knew that was likely what would happen, but I had hoped she had at least been trying to move on from Theo.
âDonât get me wrong, Ayla,â Mina said sympathetically. âSheâs wrong. Completely wrong. And she has no right to be upset about this because of what she did to get with him in the first place. But I want you to go into this with realistic expectations. And know that I support you. Personally, I donât think you owe her anything. But I understand why this is important to you.â
âThank you,â I said.
I tried to call Kylee that evening, but she didnât answer. I didnât know if she knew it was me calling or not, so I called Ma. She did answer. It was an awkward conversation as she tried to avoid discussing anything that had happened, including accusing me of stealing from her. We didnât talk long after she said Kylee wasnât there.
I sent Kylee a text saying we needed to talk and that she could call me whenever. But she never did. I kept trying for two days before finally resigning myself to drive down and see her in person.

12:21 Chapter 105 Ayla 288 iVouchers Theo and I had been avoiding being seen together since the packhouse incident. And when we did run into each other, we kept our interactions formal. But it was anything but a piece of cake. The sexual tension between us whenever we were in the same room was torture. We tried to steal a few minutes in a secluded area the second day but came too close to getting caught. And getting any decent sleep was proving to be impossible. So, despite the rough visit returning home would be, not going wasnât an option anymore.
âHey,â I reached out through the mind-link, âare you going to be home later?â
âBaby wherever you need me to be, Iâll be there,â he replied enthusiastically. âIâll clear the packhouse if you want me to.â
suppressed a smile. âI donât think that will be necessary. But I do want to see you.â
âIs something wrong?â he asked with concern.
âStill no luck getting a hold of Kylee, I told him. âI think itâs time I drove down there.â
I could sense Theoâs sigh through the connection. He didnât like the idea, but he wouldnât stop me, either.
âOkay,â he said. âWhen can I see you?â
âIâm having lunch with Annabelle,â I said. âGive me an hour?â
âYour apartment?â
âYeah,â I confirmed.
âIâll be there,â Theo agreed.

12:221 Chapter 105: Ayla 288 Vouchers As soon as we broke the connection, Annabelle came out of the kitchen.
âCome on,â she said, giving me a hug. âIâve got a table with some privacy.
I let her guide me toward the windows. There was a divider that separated a few tables from the rest of the dining room. It was a nice little private corner that kept us out of sight from any other pack members that came in. Annabelle said they reserved this area for kitchen staff during the day unless the Alpha or other ranking members need it for meetings.
While we were out of sight, the divider wasnât a solid wall. I soon learned we could hear other diners quite easily if they werenât practicing discretion.
âYou saw who showed up with Alpha Theo the day of the attack, right?â a female voice drifted over.
âGirl, donât even get me started with that,â another female said bitterly. âI knew she sabotaged Kylee and his relationship out of jealousy, but I didnât think sheâd have the nerve to actually f**k Alpha Theo.â
I froze. Meeting Annabelleâs gaze, I knew she had heard it too.
âIf she hadnât been such a sl*t when she was a teenager, she might have been able to find a mate that wanted her,â the first voice stated. âThen maybe she wouldnât feel the need to ruin her sisterâs love life. But what can you expect from someone so selfish?â
I grabbed Annabelleâs hand as it clenched into a fist, rage flashing through her eyes.
âDid she really break them up?â a third voice asked. âI heard Kylee got caught lying about them being fated mates.â

When she still couldnât find a wolf that wanted her, she took it out on Kylee. I just canât believe the audacity of her showing up here. Does she really think anyone will accept her back in the pack?â
âIâm sure Alph Theo is just using her anyway,â the second voice chimed in. âHeâll be crawling back to Kylee in no time. Besides, Alpha Torin would never let him mate with a wh**e like her.â
I begged Annabelle with my eyes not to do anything. Since we had reconnected, we had quickly gotten close again. After saving her, Mina convinced me to tell her about Theo and I and what had happened with Kylee.
âIf he even knows whatâs going on,â the first said. âKylee may be too nice to call her sister out, but Iâm not.
Oh, goddess, did that mean Kylee knew?
âDoes she even know?â the third voice inquired. âHave you told her?â
âIâm not doing that to her, another said. â,â
poor, sweet girl has been through enough. Hopefully, Theo will come to his senses, and she can be spared the pain of her sisterâs appalling behavior.â
I breathed a sigh of relief.
âYou know thatâs just wishful thinking, Amy,â the second voice said. âSheâll find out eventually.â
â
Amy. I knew that name. That was one of Kyleeâs roommates. She stayed with us once. I didnât like her then, and this certainly didnât change that opinion. I sat up straighter on my chair.

Annabelle grinned as I pushed my chair back and stood. I made sure the she-wolves sitting on the other side of the divider saw me leave. Even making eye contact with Amy as I passed.
By the time I was halfway to my apartment, I realized my mistake. I tried calling Kylee several times but still got no answer. I probably just ensured they would call and tell her what was going on.
I started to panic.
