Chapter 425 Before Due Date

Cordelia had recently been learning stuff during the break.

Occasionally, she would ask Milo or Lidio for advice when she

encountered problems. Life had been quite fulfilling.

While she was racking her brains reading, Imogen came in quietly and

said, "Shh!"

Cordelia saw her sneaking around and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Do you know who Joyce's buddy is? You won't be able to guess it."

Imogen said mysteriously.

"Who?" Cordelia offered enough curiosity because she knew Imogen

wanted to gossip.

"It's Jacob, who has been keeping a low profile since he got engaged!”

Imogen said excitedly.

"He plays games?" This was Cordelia’s first question.

"As far as I know, his family has a small game company, and he is in

charge of it," Imogen said

"Oh, that explains it. The CEO personally plays the game to attract

players. If the players knew about this, would they get angry and smash

the keyboard?" Cordelia said jokingly.

Imogen rested her chin on her hands and said as she wondered, "How

come I never met anyone willing to be my cyber lover when I play

games?"

Cordelia said, "Could it be your skills are terrible?"

Hearing this, Imogen was unhappy and tried to bite Cordelia while

making the sound of a dog barking.

Cordelia quickly dodged and said, "Hey, pay attention to your belly!

Stop fooling around and go to bed early. Even if you don't want to

sleep, Kenny and Amy must sleep!”

Kenny and Amy were the nicknames Imogen got for the babies. She

hoped her children could be happy and trouble-free after being born.

"Hmph! I will remember this one, Cordelia! You are a terrible friend!"

After speaking, Imogen left Cordelia's room pouting.

Cordelia was finally relieved, and the room became quiet again.

When Cordelia picked up the book again, she realized she couldn't

focus.

So, she put away her books and took out her cell phone, planning to

check her emails before going to sleep.

While dealing with emails, she found a message from Elijah in her spam

mail.

That was the email Elijah sent her when she and Imogen had just left

Grant City.

Cordelia hesitated, having no courage to open it.

Whether the email contained Elijah's complaints and abuse or his

regretless love, Cordelia wasn't ready to face it.

So Cordelia turned off the screen of her phone in cowardice and did

not read the email.

"Sleep! I must sleep!”

Cordelia hid her head in the quilt like an ostrich as if this could protect

her.

But she knew better than anyone else that she really wanted to read

that email and wanted to know what Elijah said to her...

As Imogen's due date approached, Cordelia put down all her work and

accompanied Imogen twenty-four seven. They ate together and slept in

the same room.

At first, Cordelia had already reserved a bed with the hospital for

Imogen to be hospitalized the day before her due date and have the

cesarean section the next morning.

Everything had been arranged.

However, one night before the due date, Imogen suddenly felt pain in

her belly.

"Don't panic and wait for a while. Maybe it's a false contraction.”

Cordelia was calm and levelheaded, and it influenced Imogen. She also

calmed down

But Cordelia knew well that it might not be a false contraction. Imogen

would probably have an early delivery.
