Chapter 424 An Online Friend

Imogen pursed her lips.

She understood what Cordelia said.

But when the man she loved approached her, she immediately lost her

senses.

She stayed clear every time just to be hurt.

So whenever she was heartbroken, she felt she was a joke and

regretted her decision.

But when faced with the same problem again, she still rushed towards

him like a moth to a flame.

She knew she was beyond salvation when the same stone repeatedly

tripped her.

"But, on the other hand,” Cordelia said with a smile, "maybe our

departure made Ben suddenly realize that there's no point in

entangling with you anymore. What do you think?"

Imogen's eyes lit up. "Are you saying that he might have finally given

up on me and the baby?"

Cordelia shook her head. "There's just a possibility. We still can't take it

lightly.”

Imogen immediately burst into laughter, happy and carefree.

Just minutes before, she was sad for Ben's fickle heart. Cordelia couldn't

help but laugh as well.

It was better this way.

On the way back, Imogen suddenly asked, "Cordelia, what about Elijah?

Why didn't we see him?"

"I don't know. He didn't attend the dinner,” Cordelia said casually.

The people who seemed to evaporate from the world were not only

Cordelia and Imogen but even Elijah

Adam said that Elijah had never appeared in Beilve City, and his new

company was already rented out after being renovated

Cordelia speculated that he might have gone to the Bloom City. After

all, it was his territory as well.

She didn't pay too much attention to it.

After finally cutting off contact with him, there was no need to pay

attention to his whereabouts.

Back at the apartment, Joyce was on the phone.

Listening to Joyce's friendly chat with the person on the other end,

Cordelia and Imogen guessed that it was a man.

"Alright, dude, my roommate is back, so I'll hang up!"

Joyce decisively hung up the phone without hesitation and looked at

Cordelia and Imogen. "I've made soup, have some!"

"I'l do it. You keep Imogen company!" Cordelia said as she went to the

kitchen to get the soup.

Imogen looked at Joyce with curiosity. "Who is it? You make a phone

call like this every day."

"Just an online friend I met while playing games," Joyce replied

indifferently.

"Oh? Is he a guy? Does he have a crush on you?" Imogen asked again.

"We're just buddies,” Joyce said solemnly as if their relationship was

sacred and inviolable.

At that moment, Cordelia walked in carrying a tray.

"Joyce is still young. Don't corrupt teenagers, Imogen,” Cordelia said

with a smile.

Imogen immediately raised her hands in surrender. "But Joyce is

already 21, not that young."

"She has a young mentality,” Cordelia said as she picked up the soup

and started enjoying it.

Suddenly, Imogen thought of something and said, "Joyce, there are a

lot of scammers online. Don't let yourself be fooled by them when

making friends online.”

Cordelia agreed, "If he asks you for money, never lend it to him, no

matter how long you've known each other or how good your

relationship is."

Joyce laughed. "He has never asked me for money, but instead, he has

bought me in-game equipment.”

Imogen was taken aback. "Damn it! You're so lucky. You found a rich

guy as your buddy!"

Joyce laughed even more happily. "Because I'm good at the game. I'm

ranked first in the region.”

Well, all Imogen's worry was in vain. Joyce only cared about her skills.

"Alright, I'm going to study now. Both of you should rest early.”

Cordelia finished her soup and left the living room.
