Chapter 422
Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia)
Chapter 422 J's Arrival
That evening, Elijah brought Ben back to his house, and the two of
them got drunk in the living room.
"If 1 had been less suspicious of her and proposed to her directly, would
she still have run away?"
Ben was drunk, and there was a slight blush on his handsome cheeks.
Although Elijah knew it was too late to say anything now, he still
seriously considered this question.
"After you propose to her, go to City Hall the next morning, and she
won't run away."
Ben raised an eyebrow. "So hasty? Don't we need a prenuptial
agreement?â
Elijah sneered, "It's already good enough if she's willing to marry you.
You're thinking too much.â
Ben paused momentarily, then said, "When did I become so passive?â
In the past, wasn't it always Imogen who took the initiative to please
him?
Elijah knew it in his heart, but he didn't expose it.
"Elijah, why are you so calm? Aren't you worried at all?" Ben's head was
spinning as he tried to look at Elijah.
"If I were really that calm, I wouldn't be drinking with you. Just the night
before yesterday, Cordelia stayed at my place and played the piano for
me."
As Elijah spoke, his gaze drifted towards her bedroom.
He had locked that bedroom, and no one was allowed in without his
permission.
Suddenly, his shoulder was tapped.
Elijah snapped out of his thoughts and saw Ben's drunken face
appearing beside him. "It's all because of me, bro. Cordelia must have
run away with Imogen.â
"I think so. We were so good the last night. She was willing to kiss me in
front of the piano.â Elijah said with a distant gaze.
Maybe this sentence ignited Ben's competitiveness, and he said,
"Imogen was very obedient that night, letting me kiss her casually and
even let me listen to her stomach.â
Elijah regained his composure and looked at him coldly, saying, "So
what? She still ran away, didn't she?â
Ben lay on the sofa and said, "Even if it costs me everything, I will bring
Imogen back and marry her!"
"Not bad. Quite ambitious,â Elijah said expressionlessly.
Elijah didn't feel angry at all about Cordelia leaving without saying a
word. He just felt empty inside because he had also disappeared
suddenly before.
Later, he found out that Cordelia had been looking for him all day. And
she only stopped when she knew why he disappeared.
So, was she retaliating against him this time?
Since arriving abroad, Cordelia had been very cautious about
contacting people in her home country, including Milo.
Imogen's belly had been growing every day, and later, it became
difficult for her to get up and turn over, so she stayed in bed all day
long.
One evening, when someone rang the doorbell, Cordelia was watching
dramas with Imogen in the room.
"Did you order food?" Imogen curiously asked.
"No, maybe it's my Bray. Let me go and check.â
Cordelia got up and came to the door. The peephole showed a blond
and blue-eyed girl standing outside.
Cordelia opened the door.
"May I ask if you are..."
"Leno, I am Silva.â
She spoke Cordeliaâs mother tongue fluently.
Cordelia raised an eyebrow and said, "Did Imogen contact you?"
"Yes, she said your house has an empty room and asked me to move in
and live with you.â The girl said as she entered with her luggage.
Cordelia was stunned for a moment, then shouted into the room,
"Imogen, why didn't you discuss this with me before contacting Silva?"
Imogen, feeling guilty inside the room, didn't dare to speak. She
mentioned it casually during her chat with Silva and didn't expect Silva
actually to come.
She was indeed a friend.
