Chapter 404

Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia)

Chapter 404 Never Thought About Breaking Up

She was questioned.

Cordelia wasn't flustered, but when she asked herself, she actually never

gave in to the relationship wholeheartedly. She always left a way out for

herself.

Her grandmother told her that the human heart was the most

complicated.

Everyone was complex and multifaceted.

When everything was fine, they would treat everyone with warmth and

happiness.

Once exposed to certain situations, their humanity would be revealed.

Therefore, Cordelia learned early on that she needed to be reserved no

matter who she interacted with.

It was the same when she was in love.

She was fortunate that she was a reserved and introverted person, and

when it came to relationships, she adopted an unrequited love

approach.

So even when she was sad, it was temporary. It would not become a

permanent pain after the excitement and passion were over, secretly

healing the wounds alone.

Her grandmother taught her so much and provided her with so many

skills that she was never idle. It wouldn't cause her to lose a

relationship, but it felt like she was losing both a man and the entire

world.

Therefore, she was still confident and shone brightly.

She took a deep breath and said, "Elijah, I am the kind of person who

hopes to get a response when I give in to my feelings. If it is just me

giving unilaterally and the other party can't see it, I will force myself to

give up."

This was just like she used to grow slowly during those three years of

marriage and eventually came out of that relationship on her own

initiative.

She had become more mature.

She added, "As for you, I admit that I always have reservations, but it

doesn't mean that I did something wrong to you. You also have selfish

intentions and don't trust me completely.”

Cordelia looked at him unwavering, and her affirmative aura did not

weaken but was not strong either.

It was more like she was reasoning with Elijah with a gentle voice and

was not angry because she was singled out.

On the contrary, she hoped Elijah could also realize that his love was

not so wholehearted.

"At least, I never thought about breaking up, but you always wanted to

escape,” Elijah said calmly.

Cordelia smiled, "It's better to be separate than to be together

uncomfortable. Besides, is there a difference between being separated

for you? Don't you just keep pestering me?"

Elijah was stunned. Then, his eyes became dull.

His persistence was being despised.

It turned out that, in Cordelia’s opinion, the relationship between them

had always been like that.

Elijah suddenly raised his voice and shouted, "All right, Cordelia. I'll give

you freedom. You go now. Leave!"

His sudden surge of emotions made Cordelia stunned for a moment.

After that, she stood up, looked at Elijah's pale face, and said, "You have

a good rest, then.”

With that, Cordelia turned around and left decisively.

Her steps were orderly until she left the house without even the

slightest hesitation, let alone looking back.

Elijah had already regretted his decision when Cordelia was stunned.

But he had said those words. What was done couldn't be undone.

He watched Cordelia’s back disappear at the door, gradually getting

farther away, just like the distance between them.

Cordelia left.

He froze on the spot, and it took him a long time to come back to his

senses. He looked down at the sachet he clutched tightly in his hand.

Laying slowly, he held the sachet to his chest, and the gentle and

elegant fragrance hit him, gradually making him sleepy.

So, he fell asleep slowly on the narrow sofa just like that.
