Chapter 401

Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia)

Chapter 401 Murder Your Ex-husband?

His sudden voice attracted everyone's attention to him, and then they

looked at Cordelia again.

Cordelia was expressionless and cursed inwardly, "This jerk! He really

knows how to attract attention.”

Then, Eason said, "Didn't Ms. Carter ask someone to help you deal with

it just now?"

Elijah didn't even look at Eason and fixed his eyes on Cordelia's

beautiful face from the beginning to the end.

He said faintly, "Do you want other women to touch me?" His voice was

not loud, but it was enough to shock everyone in the conference room.

Cordelia gritted her teeth, stood up abruptly, and said sullenly, "Come

with me."

Elijah curled his lips into a faint smile, glanced at Eason, stood up lazily,

and followed Cordelia out of the conference room.

Eason looked at his back coldly. Even though he always stayed

composed regardless of what happened, there was still a hint of

viciousness in his eyes at this time.

Back to her office, Cordelia found the first-aid kit and applied the

antiseptic directly to the wound on Elijah's hand.

The heart-piercing burning sensation made Elijah's lazy expression

change. Letting out a groan, he looked at Cordelia and asked

suspiciously, "Are you trying to murder your husband?"

"I am single and have no husband,” Cordelia said calmly, disinfecting

and bandaging his wound neatly.

Elijah smiled, "Are you trying to murder your ex-husband?"

"Don't be flirtatious. The meeting has been postponed for ten minutes

because of you. You have to take full responsibility.” Cordelia said in a

business-like manner.

However, Elijah directly changed the topic. "I will send you back after

the meeting later.”

"I came here in Eason's car. His driver will naturally take me back, and

you don't have to worry about that,” Cordelia said coldly.

"Cordelia..." Elijah grabbed Cordelia's arm with his gauze-wrapped

hand.

"Elijah, you are annoying!" Cordelia couldn't bear it and turned to stare

at him.

Elijah slowly withdrew his hand and said, "Cordelia, do you really not

want me anymore?”

Cordelia bit her lip, tried to calm down, and said, "We have broken up,

Elijah."

Elijah murmured, "That's right. But Cordelia, I'm sick. I don't know the

point of living."

"Stop talking nonsense!" With that, Cordelia fled and ran out of the

office.

She couldn't stand Elijah’s slumped look, especially his dull eyes, which

were filled with dead silence as if he had lost all hope to live.

Life would eventually go on with or without her.

She didn't believe that he would really be overwhelmed.

But she was worried at the same time. After all, Elijah had been

stimulated before. And now, he had become a loner.

Annoyed, Cordelia returned to the meeting room, but Elijah did not

come back.

He left, and she was temporarily relieved.

She had been busy all day at Elia Research Institute. At nine o'clock in

the evening, she received a call from Ben.

He rarely called her. She thought he called because of Imogen's affairs,

but Cordelia was scolded as soon as the call was connected.

"Cordelia, where are you now? Do you know your man is dying?!"

Cordelia was confused and asked, "Ben, what are you talking about?

Please speak clearly."

"Come to Elijah's house. He just had gastric lavage.” After saying that,

Ben hung up the phone angrily.

Cordelia was speechless and thought, "What does it have to do with

me? Is it a ruse of self-injury?"
