Chapter 387 He Disappeared
Then, he heard Cordelia's voice. She seemed to find it incredible. "Mr.
Carter, Really? Is Eason Henry who saved me back then?"
Elijah suddenly felt like a piece of his heart had been cut off.
He clutched his chest and staggered back two steps, not daring to
continue listening.
Cordelia finally found out...
In the courtyard, Cordelia listened attentively to Milo about Henry.
"Before Eason was 16 years old, he was fostered in a village near Mount
Damerel.
"Later, after the forest fire, his mother recognized him, and he moved to
Grant City. He took her mother's surname and changed his name to
Eason Holland.
"Eason never mentioned it to me, and I heard it from Adam. Adam said
he told you about this matter before, but you seem to have not heard
from him by accident.
"Later, Eason found out about it and scolded Adam severely. Eason
didnât want you to know about it and pressured you. He hoped that
you could get along with him naturally.â
Listening to what Milo said, Cordelia felt dizzy.
God really knew how to joke.
The savior she had worked so hard to find turned out to be always by
her side and very close to her.
"Has Eason recognized me a long time ago?" Cordelia said with some
annoyance.
"Well, it should be after you and Adam met by chance. He heard your
name and investigated your information." Milo guessed.
Milo had heard Cordelia tell how she met Adam and Eason.
Although Milo was old, he had an excellent memory, and his reactions
were not slow at all. He was an intelligent old man.
Cordelia chatted with Milo for a long time. It was already lunchtime, but
Elijah hadn't come yet.
Cordelia was a little worried and called him, but he didn't answer.
"Cordelia, stay here and eat lunch.â Milo saw that Cordelia didn't look
good, so he retained her.
"Mr. Carter, I have to leave."
Cordelia had to find Elijah. He promised to pick her up but didn't come
and didn't answer the call. She thought, "Is Elijah planning to rebel?"
She was complaining in her heart, but she couldn't help but be nervous
about him, fearing that he was delayed because something happened
on the way.
So she took a taxi and left.
Along the way, Cordelia tried to contact Elijah, but he didn't reply to
messages or answer calls, as if Elijah and his phone were separated.
Cordelia went to several places but couldn't find Elijah. Later, she felt
hungry, so she had to return to the Maple Villa first.
Ultimately, Cordelia didn't receive a call from him all afternoon.
Elijah seemed to have evaporated from the world, and there was no
news about him.
Cordelia began to suspect that Elijah deliberately did not answer her
phone and contact her.
But why?
She was puzzled.
Just then, her phone rang.
Cordelia couldn't wait to pick up the phone and was stunned when she
saw the name "Eason".
She suddenly felt a little nervous.
