Chapter 354
Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia)
Chapter 354 How Dare You!
In fact, Ben did not call Imogen until the next morning.
When he reached the thirtieth call, Imogen had already put her phone
on mute, but she was not asleep yet.
At this moment, Cordelia heard the sound of cars outside the yard.
"Isn't Ben here?" Cordelia asked Imogen.
"Just tell him I'm not here." Imogen quickly covered her head with the
quilt in fear.
Cordelia had no choice but to go downstairs.
As she expected, Ben came with Elijah.
However, Elijah did not bring Ben in and stayed outside with Ben,
ringing the doorbell like a guest.
Naturally, Cordelia would not let them in, so she met Ben in the yard.
"Why did you come at this late hour?"
Ben was obviously impatient. He didn't beat around the bush and asked
straight to the point, "Is Imogen inside?â
"No! She's in Grant City." Cordelia lied with confidence.
"Cordelia, don't lie to me.â Ben's tone suddenly became very angry.
Elijah immediately pulled him back. "Don't be rude. Do you remember
what you promised me before we came?"
Ben gritted his teeth. He did promise Elijah that he would talk to
Cordelia nicely.
But seeing Cordelia confidently lying, Ben couldn't suppress his anger
at all.
Cordelia folded her arms around her chest, looked at Ben
expressionlessly, and said, "Please go back if there is nothing important.
I'm going to sleep.â
"Cordelia, tell Imogen she can deal with me at will, but she can't harm
Elissa!"
Ben's voice was loud, as if he wanted Imogen, who was hiding
somewhere, to hear it.
And in fact, Imogen heard it, heartbroken.
She thought Ben was not a scumbag but a shameless ingrate!
Cordelia pulled the corners of her lips and then said, "Then please take
good care of Elissa, and don't let her hurt Imogen again. We are also
capable of doing what you can do."
When Imogen, who was hiding upstairs, heard Cordeliaâs words, she
was so moved that she almost burst into tears!
Obviously, this matter had nothing to do with Cordelia, but Cordelia
was involved and stood by Imogen's side.
Ben was speechless for a moment and glanced upstairs with some
sullen eyes.
Cordelia raised her eyebrows. "So? We can only be beaten passively,
right? Ben, do you always have a double standard?"
Elijah interrupted in time and said to Ben, "The matter this time was
originally your fault. Imogen has always been obedient. She has hidden
in Grant City. What else do you want?"
While talking, Elijah signaled with his eyes to Ben that he should stop
making a fuss.
However, Ben said, "I know Imogen is upstairs. Ask her to come down
to meet me. I won't hold her accountable for this matter!"
Cordelia raised her eyebrows. "What qualifications do you have to see
her?"
"Cordelia, don't go too far!" Ben raised his voice.
"Speaking loudly won't justify you.â Cordelia stared at Ben with a sneer
and said word by word, "You know she's pregnant, right? You know
she's most afraid of ghosts, right?
"You claim to be concerned about the babies in her belly, yet you
mistreat her. If someone like you can achieve your goals, even God
could not bear it!"
Ben was scolded by Cordelia so much that his breathing became short.
It had been ages since no one dared to scold him like that!
This brought back some depressing memories from his childhood.
And the faces of those children who had bullied Ben gradually
reappeared in his mind, making him want to resist even more.
He suddenly shouted upstairs, "Imogen, come down. Otherwise, you
will never see your family again tomorrow!"
Cordelia narrowed her eyes. "You are so unscrupulous, Ben! How dare
you!"
